Out on the ice, anything seems possible. Especially when they're skating together. Even their most impossible dream: Olympic Gold. A Muggle AU Dramione story.
I rarely say this, but I considered DNFing. This has been part of my “anything but tolstoy or homework” spree. I don’t think I’ve ever read a muggle AU before and honestly I only started this cause I’m a skater on forced break and miss the ice. I don’t believe whoever wrote this skates, but they definitely are a fan of elite figure skating, because while some details were off, the text overall felt very well-researched. My main issue here comes from the character dynamics. (minor spoilers ahead, although not much to spoil tbh). The relationship they have past THE 2008 event up to the 2014 olympics is a dynamic that’s not only toxic, but is also somewhat boring, especially with how written out it is. They hook up on the regular, sometimes Draco gets a girlfriend and they stop, and, as soon as the relationship ends, they start hooking up again. Then, after swearing to be truthful past 2014, they proceed to hide their feelings and dance around each other, the thing that got them in trouble in the first place. Idiots in love. Heavy emphasis on idiots. I also can’t believe I’m saying this, but for elite skaters, despite all the angst, they are not nearly stressed enough. Those people are typically traumatized by the ends of their careers in some way or another. So much of the angst here came from their relationship rather than their career, which is part of the genre, sure, but isn’t super realistic. I would say the story up until 2008 is natural and builds up in an engaging way. After, it’s repetitive and boring, albeit well-written. The natural climax of the story does not align with where it should be. It feels like the story peaks in 2008, and then just drags on.. The final scene is very cute though, I admit. I shed a tear. Overall, okay. A fun read, sure, but without the added storyline of magic and with the predictability of elite FS, this does not stand a chance against some of the other dramione works of similar length.
DNF with like three chapters left RIP. I loved almost all of it until it 3/4 of the way through when every chapter became spice and spice exclusively. I was reading for the plot and the skating and that probably wasn't what it was for. I wish I knew how it ended because I really did love the story, but it got to the point where you couldn't skip over it. 😢 It's just not my thing.
Gorgeous story of Draco and Hermione as ice dancers with dreams of Olympic Gold. Truly put me through emotional turmoil throughout the ups and downs of their relationship.
That had so much potential, but I skipped through a lot of it. - too long, too cheesy at times and overall draging. It reminded me much of „From Lukov with love“.
So goood omgggggg This is a fan fic…. But it’s a pretty darn good one. The intricacy of the ice skating mixed with the timeline is absolutely phenomenal.

This has got to be in by top 5 dramione fics. This book was so good!! I wish it was longer or there was a sequel. It reminds me of the show spinning out on Netflix.
