In October 2008, the devil came to the Lee farmhouse in rural North Carolina. A serial killer known as the Black Angel massacred the Lee family, leaving one survivor who disappeared shortly after the murders. Rumors are rampant that the Black Angel found her and finished the job. Ryan Cross and his paranormal team Defenders from Darkness were once the darlings of paranormal television, but now DFD needs a hit. Ratings have nosedived, and the show is on the verge of cancellation. A night of thrilling investigating at the Lee farmhouse could be the boost the show needs to get back on top. And if the investigation goes wrong, the show might not be the only thing ending. I SAW THE DEVIL pays homage to the slasher flicks of the eighties.
Paul Seiple is a best-selling author of the Project Specter Mystery Series and the Great Dying Post-Apocalyptic Series. His roots are in the horror and thriller genres. Occasionally, he will take a wrong turn and end up in other genres like science fiction.
Outside of creating dark stories, Paul is influenced by Crystal Pepsi, New Coke, Van Halen III (The Gary Cherone Minute), and Windows Vista. He believes Paul Stanley’s ’78 solo record was the best and misses Saved by the Bell: The College Years tremendously. Paul would like for you to be in his Myspace Top 8, but sadly, he can’t remember his password. But all is not lost.
This was one really well written story! Not only did it have a very clever, well crafted plot, it had very believable characters who were easy to like and to root for as you follow their adventures. The writing was lean. Very streamlined. That made it a fast, fun read. I am ready for a sequel, please. ps: One tiny criticism. It seemed like there were quite a few stupid typo and other dumb editing mistakes that had nothing to do with the actual writing. This might be a problem with the Kindle edition or a lousy editor. I have noticed this with other kindle books and it really ruins the flow of reading. As an author, you deserve better, Mr Seiple. As a reader, I certainly deserve better as well.
Read this in ONE SITTING! This is a very intricate tale of a legendary slasher from the angle of an investigative tv show attempting a Hail Mary to return higher ratings! Starts of slow as the characters & story are fleshed out, but then it takes off on a wild ride during a night shoot at the property of the final killing spree. This was full of twists, and surprises throughout. Would make an amazing tv series for sure, I got total “The Following” vibes while reading this-actually more like devoured it! Hope there will be more of this story!
I usually love every book I read but this one I just didn't care for. I was actually very bored ready it. I finished it because no book should go unfinished. But it just had nothing special in my opinion. And I have been reading horror and supernatural books for about 40 years now. This was neither scary, gripping or edge of your seat kind of book. Best way to put it is, it was just flat. Again just my opinion and others may like it.
I would recommend this story to someone who is looking for something really different in a scary story. This is a real head scratcher that will leaving you wondering. (Do bogymen ever really die?) Read and enjoy.
When a policeman's wife is brutally murdered he is set on a vengeance to find out which of the men is guilty. He kills several and then finds the correct one. This man is responsible for the death of several women. Very bloody.
I had initially started this book thinking that it was going to be about ghosts, and investigating the paranormal but I thoroughly enjoyed the massive twist in the story. Well done!
I loved this book! It was a little brutal but the characters were fun and the twists had me surprised. It was a fun read and I’m still thinking about it days later.
