“Southern ladies didn’t make a scene. Her mother would tell her to march her hiney back into that church and marry the man.”
Cassie’s in her wedding dress and ready to walk down the aisle. Minutes later, she’s a runaway bride on her way to nowhere. Two Hearts, Tennessee, fits that description perfectly.
She’s also a wedding planner. When someone in her profession is a runaway bride, the story’s so sweet that she needs to stay hidden for a while.
Greg returned to Two Hearts to be the sheriff after years as a big city cop—and his fiancée dumping him. He’s living over the garage at his mother’s house (how did that happen?) and just doing his job.
Then he gets a call about a redhead in the diner wearing a wedding dress.
His life and the town are turned upside down.
Cassie wants to help Two Hearts while she’s hiding from her ex-groom and the media. She may have some ideas to give a boost to the dying town.
Cassie has a thriving business in Nashville. Greg’s tied to Two Hearts.
Will she be able to help the town AND avoid falling for the sheriff? The town, maybe. The sheriff? She’s pulled closer to his heart every minute she’s there.
Author’s Note: A runaway bride. A charming small town. Laughter and fun. A hero who has to stay. A heroine who needs to leave. Sweet and clean.
This was everything I wanted in a book ... and more!
I’ll remember this book because of the image in my mind of a bride on a motorbike leaving the wedding venue!
I really felt Cassanda ‘Cassie’ Van Bibber and Sheriff Brantley belonged together. The pacing of their attraction and falling in love was believable. They helped each other overcome the hurdles to ‘togetherness.’ I couldn't set this book down!
I’m so excited to find an author who writes sweet romance and can’t wait to read book 2 in this series.
Have you ever yearned to jump in your car and just drive until you run out of gas? Alternatively, ride a motorcycle until it runs out of gas, as in this case. Cassandra “Cassie” Van Bibber does exactly that.
However, her justification is catching her fiancé cheating on her only seconds before they were to walk down the aisle. She was still wearing her wedding dress, astride a motorcycle she borrowed from her fiancé’s boss, when she ran away!
Cathryn Brown creates a wonderful story about a fictional Tennessee town named Two Hearts, near Nashville. As only an abandoned and neglected beauty can, the small rural area radiates charm. The inhabitants are incredibly generous, friendly and compassionate. Two Hearts is the kind of town most people can only dream of living in.
Runaway to Romance features a wonderful cast of characters (except for Cassie’s fiancé) and a town almost anyone would love. Runaway to Romance is a clean, charming novel, though not a Christian book per se.
OMG I started this on my treadmill walk this morning and it was so good I couldn’t put it down. I loved the start with our runaway bride and could easily visualise Cassie riding off on a motorcycle to get away! The town of Two Hearts sounds amazing and in need of love and attention which Cassie provided a start for and the people well I fell in love with them all and I really really hope we are going to see more of them. It’s a great story with great characters and yep I even shed a tear at Carly’s wedding and you had me laughing out loud when Cassie fell and was left hanging at the church.
This sweet little novel is #7 in the Wedding Town Romance series, but it works well as a stand-alone. Randi is the over achieving owner/manager of the town’s only motel, and she works tirelessly to keep the aging structure running and the guests happy. John is a successful author who is visiting Two Hearts to check out the inn his ancestors once owned. A clever plot, witty dialogue, and characters working hard to reach a compromise about the inn ownership while opening their hearts to each other make the HEA believable and swoon worthy.
Cathryn Brown's Runaway Romance is a sweet romance with very likable characters, a small town that stole my heart and a story about a woman who is strong enough to start over in a small town. I'm looking forward to reading more about Two Hearts, Tennessee.
What a fun twist to the whole “Runaway Bride” stories. This story was so fun from the first line to the very end. Have you ever just wanted to disappear? Well in this story, after a close call, that’s exactly what Cassie does. Unexpectedly, she's "trapped" in a small town, that has all the charms but appears more of a ghost town. Will she be able to get back to her life in the big city, or does she really want to? Cathryn Brown has introduced us to some fun new characters in a sweet town, that will warm your heart. I loved all the imagery of this charming town. I also enjoyed the cute entertaining dialogue by many of the characters. Such wonderful main characters and delightful interactions. They brought a smile to my face! Cathryn Brown has produced another wonderful book to add to her collection of matchmaking, romance stories. I’m looking forward to seeing more of these characters in future books. If you want to read books that are clean, romantic, fun, and quick to read, then this author is someone you should check out! I highly recommend you pick this book up. I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I recently read "Wedding Town #1: Runaway to Romance" by Cathryn Brown. The story follows Cassie Van Bibber who discovers her groom in a compromising position on her wedding day, just before she is about to walk down the aisle. Fleeing on a borrowed motorcycle in her wedding dress, she runs out of petrol in Two Hearts, TN. Stranded in her wedding dress she is forced to spend the weekend at a very old motel as the town closes up for the weekend.
Two Hearts is a town that has seen better days and has fallen on hard times after the local hot springs dried up. Families left, businesses closed down, and tourists stopped coming.
Sheriff Greg Brantley, who has moved back to his hometown of Two Hearts from Chicago, encounters Cassie in a wedding dress at a local diner. This encounter sets off a chain of events that changes the town and affects Greg personally.
Cassie and Greg feel an instant connection, but Cassie is in no position to pursue a relationship due to her ex and the media attention. She decides to stay in Two Hearts for a week and starts a project to repaint the neglected local church. This act brings the town together, giving them hope and purpose.
Despite knowing she has to return to Nashville to address the unfulfilled wedding, as a wedding planner, Cassie knows there will be complications and drama.
Very sweet romance. I downloaded this audiobook when I needed something fun and pleasant. The runaway bride situation immediately drew me into the story. The setting in the small town and its residents was very enjoyable. I think a lot of people would like to live in a small town like this, and I wonder if they even exist anymore. The novel provides an escape to this type of idyllic life. Like any cozy novel, this one included plenty of details about what the characters were eating. However, the author did not fill too much of the narrative with this. I personally do not enjoy books that are full of worthless details. Plot holes: Living 1.5 hours away is not far enough to rule out a relationship. The characters reviewed this over and over, and it just seemed ridiculous. I wanted to shake the author. She could have made it 4 or 5 hours away, and that still is not impossible for people who are committed to each other. How is everyone the main character knows in Nashville, herself included, so enormously successful in their late 20s? They all have their own businesses which cater to celebrities. I can see maybe one person being that successful, but all 3 of them? It was a fun read. I would read the next in the series.
Runaway to Romance Is a great book starring a runaway bride and wedding planner Cassie Van Bibber who catches her groom in a compromising position right before she is going to walk down the aisle. She takes off on a borrowed motorcycle in her gown and ends up in Two Hearts TN. Two Hearts is a town that has fallen on hard times, it had been a tourist hub until their hot springs dried up. Families left and businesses closed up when the tourists stopped coming. With nothing but her gown she ends up spending the weekend at a quaint motel since the town closes up for the weekend. Cassie meets Sheriff Greg Brantley who was a Chicago cop who wanted to move back to his hometown after seeing too much bad stuff and a failed engagement. Cassie and Greg have chemistry but right now the last thing on her mind is a relationship. Her ex is trying to get in touch with her and reporters are contacting her. She decides to stay in Two Hearts for a week and begins a project to paint the church. Cassie knows she has to go back to Nashville and straighten up things from her almost wedding and she has several weddings planned. One for a famous country singer
Cute and funny! Plot was not predictable and the characters were good. Great small-town story.

This story was so much fun from the beginning to the end. After a close call, of what should have been "Cassie Van Bigger "(what a name , right? ) ... anyway that’s exactly what Cassie does. Unexpectedly, she borrows Jonathons Boss's Motorcycle ... which was funny cause ....who in their right minds would let someone "borrow" their motorcycle....... Cassie drives till she runs out of gas at a small town, that has all the charms but appears more of a ghost town. Seem's she is now trapped in a wedding dress in a deserted to a degree quaint little town.... Will she be able to get back to her life in the big city, or since her time in the small town does she really want to? I truly enjoyed reading some fun new characters in a sweet town, that will warm your heart. I loved all the imagery of this charming town. A fun and sweet romance between a small town sheriff and a big city wedding planner. When Calli catches her fiance in a compromising position on their wedding day minutes before the wedding, she hops on his bosses motorcycle and be ones a runaway bride. She runs out of gas in a small, broken down TN town about 1 1/2 hours outside Nashville.
The sheriff, Greg, checks in at the hotel she's staying for the weekend and ends up delivering some clothes along with an invitation to dinner, arranged by his mother.
There's laughter and fun, while the townspeople welcome her to Two Hearts. As a wedding planner, Calli, ends up using a quaint local church and outlying flower farm as the setting for a country stars wedding and reception.
A new author and I enjoyed the first book in the series. Hoping the next book is her friend Bella's story and involves Micah, Greg's best friend.
This was a great, romantic story set in Nashville and Two Hearts, Tennesee. I found it interesting to see how the story began for Cassie, a highly sought after, wedding planner. It was also interesting as she rode a motorcycle, that she had borrowed, out of the city and ended up in Two Hearts, after she ran out of gas
The people in Two Hearts seemed nice and friendly, although gossip spread just as quickly in the small town. I enjoyed Carly and Jake's wedding and how the town pulled together to spruce everything up. My favorite part of the whole book was the relationship budding between Sheriff Brantley and Cassie, except she lived hours away from the small town. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
really sweet small town romance…a Hallmark movie in book form
This is a really sweet story and sets the stage for more books in the series.
When Cassie, a wedding planner, runs away from her own wedding she ends up in a pretty downtrodden small town. There she meets several kind people and the kind (and gorgeous) town sheriff Greg. Their friendship progresses during the week Cassie spends in town but then she heads back to her life in Nashville.
This is a super sweet book and kept reminding me of a Hallmark movie. The MCs are immediately lovable and the secondary characters are fun and help propel the storyline. We also get some sneak peeks into the MCs for book two.
I’ll definitely be reading the rest of the series.
Aww, I loved everything about this book. It had a special small hometown feel and made me want to morph into the book and into my own little yellow house. Greg, Cassie, Mrs. Brantley, Michelle, Dinah, Micah, Belle, and who could forget Romeo the adorable kitten made the story relatable and heartwarming. It had drama, spunk, and made me smile so much my face hurt! I loved how the town rallied to make improvements for an outsider. Cassie fit right in, and I am so glad she got her well-deserved happily ever after! I wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone looking for a loving, heartwarming, funny, make you sigh, sweet romance. If you don't believe in happily ever after, this book will probably make you think twice!!
Two surefire aspects of a good book are how easy it is to pick up and read, and how hard it is to put down. Cathryn Brown's "Runaway to Romance" easily fits both. A compelling storyline, believable characters and skillful writing all combined to immerse me into the worlds of Cassie and Greg. It is a pleasure to witness Cathryn Brown's evolvement as a writer, and this book should capture the attention of those both familiar and unfamiliar with her work. Kudos on a book obviously well thought out and properly composed. Cathryn Brown has now cemented her existing spot on my favorite authors list.
Love love loved this book! Thank you Cathryn Brown for allowing me to read an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Cassandra(Cassie) Von Bibber is a wedding planner who is also a "Runaway Bride", fortunately she discovered just prior to her wedding her fiance is a cheating scum bag! Borrowing a wedding attendee's motorcycle her(in her wedding dress) leaves the scene of the "crime" in Nashville and rides until she runs out of gas in Two Hearts, TN. Love all the characters, her friends in Nashville Bella & Simone, plus all the small town characters she encounters in Two Hearts. Would definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy a clean fun
I had read this book a long ago and enjoyed it all over again! Loved that she helps get the town alive again! Can't wait for the next book in the series!
I had to go back and re-read parts of this book and don't believe it was the original book I read! There was so much which was really close, the town, the sheriff, even the motel and the little yellow house, fixing up the town although that was done by a bunch of collage kids in the other book! For me this was just to close for comfort, not sure if the second book will follow in the same foot steps or not. Was sad as it was a cute storyline!
This is a nice a nearly drama free romance between Greg and Cassie. Cassie sees her groom with another woman just before their wedding and learns he is only marrying her for her money. She flees in her dress on a motorcycle belonging to her grooms boss and runs out of gas in a small town named Two Hearts. Greg is the handsome sheriff of the town which has lost all tourism over the years and he moved back after being a Chicago cop for a decade. Sparks fly and soon Greg & Cassie are spending their free time together and his lovely Mom is definitely trying to get them together. This is a lovely sweet romance about finding the right person and what you will do to be with that person.
Loved it! This was such a fun, sweet, clean read. Cassie turns heads when she arrives in Two Hearts, TN. One of those heads belongs to Greg, the town sheriff. He wants to believe it’s because of his job and wanting to ensure his town is safe, and not because this new arrival is so attractive. A cheating groom, a runaway bride, a rescued kitten, a small town in need of hope and new businesses, new friendships, and a HEA. Delightful! I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Cassie caught her fiancé with a bridesmaid moments before their wedding was supposed to start. She borrows a motorcycle and drives till it runs out of gas. She lands in Two Hearts a town that had had better times. The Sheriff takes an interest in her but she sees no way that would work out. Love the small town dynamic. Everyone knows each other business and they all come together when someone needs help. A sweet story with lovable main characters. Ms Brown has a winner with this one.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fun light-hearted read. Cassie, a city-girl wedding planner, and Greg, the small-town sheriff, are a great match. Two Hearts is a quirky little town resigned to its dying fate until Cassie arrives and spearheads a project to repaint the church and brings a high-profile wedding to town. Cassie falls in love with the town and with the sheriff but has a challenge figuring out how to make it work with her job/clients several hours away in Nashville. Great cast of secondary characters, and I’m looking forward to seeing their stories play out as the series continues.
This was such a great book. Cassie, wedding planner extraordinaire, became a runaway bride. She had good reason. She made it to Two Hearts a small town outside of Nashville. The town's sheriff just happened to be a big friendly hunk. Greg was a good guy who looked out for her. The stuff this couple went through was something else. I couldn't put the book down, so much fun. Read the book you'll absolutely love it. Thanks for such a great book :)
Sweet, clean and loving this is a darling story of a town brought back to life, a loving community and a terrific couple who compliment each other. Runaway bride Cassie meets Sheriff Greg Brantley when she lands in his small town of Two Hearts after her escape from her misguided wedding and cheater groom. As a wedding planner she decides to lay low after her debacle of a wedding. Staying in Two Hearts provides Cassie with a new outlook on life, and treats Greg with new opportunities. Delightful story.
It's a light hearted novel without much drama or deep character development. While some of the plot is a bit over the top, the idea that just one person can trigger a chain of events that leads to major positive changes and progress is very appealing. I can't really claim that I connected with the main characters and their love story feels rushed and sometimes forced, but maybe that's the "squeaky clean" aspect of it all. Nothing really memorable about it, but I enjoyed this book and I'm enjoying the series.
