Black Tar Souls #1

Crazy: A Dark Florida Urban Fantasy Thriller

Rate this book
It’s a fine line between light and shadow, and in that line lies the Anders Hand…

For Christine Sullivan, a young woman tortured by visions she cannot explain, life is a series of panic-laden episodes and numbing medication. It isn’t until a chance encounter proves she might not be seeing things, that Christine finds herself falling deep into the rabbit hole of inky darkness.

A living weapon, a single decision, and a shot fired, all play a part in the story of Christine’s future, and what it means to be the Arbiter of Destruction.

In this fantastic first novella of a brand new series we meet Christine Sullivan.
Christine has strange visions she cannot explain, and everyone thinks she’s ‘Crazy Christine’.
In this story we’ll discover what is REALLY going on.....

Christine is a magnificent character. She has troubles and uncertainties just like us, and learns to deal with them. She’s as real as they come, and I think she’s very intriguing.

Awesome and brilliant storytelling, can’t wait to find out what happens next!

Confusing

This book was extremely confusing with rape wrapped in the middle. I could not get into it. Not my cup of tea.

This takes place *during* "Dead Set", the first book in the "Tales of Weird Florida" series, which I absolutely love and read as soon as they are released. If you haven't read "Dead Set" you won't understand "Crazy".

Anja's review sums it up nicely. I just want to add that Mr Shannon writes his characters' internal feelings, confusion, and loss of their reality incredibly well. Combined with his humorous and often unusual take on mythologies and nearly non-stop action...well, they really are hard to put down and have left me imagining and hoping for more stories for days.
