It’s really rude to wish you’d been kidnapped. Especially when your best friend actually was. But Tripp wishes something would happen to him. He likes his sex kinky, and he likes his kink on the fun side of risky. Which means he’s got his eye on Sebastian Gage, the incredibly handsome, incredibly rich, incredibly dangerous Dom.
Sebastian makes subs cry, and he’s not sorry about it. He is sorry that his penchant for emotional sadism means none of his playmates ever stick around, but he’s not going to let any of his new-found friends know that. All they know is that he’s a cruel Dom and a brilliant attorney. And right now it’s time to concentrate on the brilliant attorney part instead of getting sidetracked by a gangly young sub with a smart mouth and a penchant for danger.
Sebastian will do anything to make sure the perp who’s been targeting vulnerable subs in a human trafficking scheme gets what he deserves. Maybe even sacrifice Tripp, the only one who can take everything Sebastian has to offer. The only one who’s ever stuck around.
This is the final book in the Hell's Bedroom series.
Tanya writes in a variety of romantic and erotic genres, being an avid follower of many of these genres herself. Some of her favorites are M/M romance, MFM threesomes, and BDSM with male submissives.
Tanya lives in New England with her boyfriend and her cat and has participated in many of the activities about which she writes, but not all of them. It's left to the reader to decide which are which.
4.5 stars Excellently written BDSM story. Besides the hot Dom sub encounters, there is a crime. With victims, witnesses and attorneys. Subs went missing. Sebastian is the deputy district attorney.
Sebastian is ambitious, but in everything, he’s first of all a Dom. He’s cruel and grumpy, he can’t seem to let a sub stick around. Tripp wants to stick around. Sebastian doesn’t want Tripp. Tripp is even more determined.
While Sebastian came across as cold, his kisses are the opposite, like sensuous full of heat.
“You can do whatever, sir. I trust you.” “I’m going to make you regret that,”
That’s some of their dynamic :)
Sebastian is sadistic and could eat Tripp alive. He found all Tripp’s edges, some close some he had to work harder for.
Tripp was just right for Sebastian if Sebastian would commit it. I loved the fact Sebastian was a bit unlovable. The author created a wonderful couple with a great dynamic. I loved this story, there isn’t much I didn’t like, maybe a bit less confidence for Sebastian about their relationship, but Nah, it was good as it was. Consistent, solid scenes, great main characters with a wonderful relationship. A strong story with an excellent plot!
One of the best parts of all 3 of these books was this group of BDSM practitioners who became friends.... or at least "better" friends. They not only developed a type of friendship but also formed a solid commitment to make sure that as long as they drew breath, they would do everything in their power to keep their shared kinks consensual and to provide a safe place for everyone that wanted to practice them. Over that common cause they bonded and eventually starting caring and watching out for one another while taking down a human trafficking ring, making the streets of Boston safer for everyone, gay or straight.
A more than satisfying conclusion to the "Hell’s Bedroom" trilogy. The series has suspense, excellent writing and some really sexy characters. Tanya Chris is going to have to work really hard in order to top this one...but I'm sure she's on the job. (The strange book titles are all names for each of the 3 Doms and is mentioned only one time somewhere in the text. The names make perfect sense when you see them ... but you have to watch carefully for it.)
I wanted to read Sebastian's story since the first book. But then after the disappointing second book, I lost hope. Still, I couldn't give up on reading Sebastian & Tripp story, So I decided to give it a try. This book was everything I had expected from Sebastian, A sadist dom who works for the DA office and takes pleasure in being mean. In other words, he is ' that asshole' and is so full of himself. Tripp is a 20-year-old sub who wants excitement but he comes out as a little immature. He wanted Sebastian from the very start but Sebastian avoided Tripp due to his involvement with the human trafficking case. Tripp continued trying and eventually, Sebastian gave up any pretence and accepted his liking for Tripp. There are constant push-pull and mind games that were expected from Sebastian. But what was not expected was the sweetness and care. This is the best book in the series and I liked it more than I had expected.
Sebastian is AWESOME! Of course, he’d make me run away crying, but fortunately for Sebastian, he has Tripp, a sub perfect matched to his sadism. 😍 Not only does Sebastian and Tripp’s relationship grow and bloom, but we get the conclusion to the case against DDD which started in book 1, Kitchen Sink Dom <— seriously, these titles are so witty and fun. This romance mystery is so well written, with equal thought and intelligence given to the mystery as the romance. Each character has a unique voice and I love them all, all these eclectic, diverse people the author has introduced us to, including Knight and Dobransky; I don’t want to say goodbye to any of them 🥰
I've been looking forward to Sebastian's book since I read the first one, but was somewhat less excited after being so let down by book 2. But I'm happy to say this book is pretty much everything I wanted and probably my favorite in the series! I loved the kink here and Sebastian and Tripp were both wonderful and fit beautifully together. My one critique is that, and I've felt this throughout the series, but the case plot is a bit weak and IMO doesn't hold its own with the romance aspect. This being the conclusion of the case that spans all three books, it was somewhat anticlimactic. I liked the romance/kink part so much that I didn't really care, but if that part had been weaker, it definitely would have been more of a detriment.
When I picked this up, I didn’t realize it was book 3 in a series, but decided to read it anyway. I have to say, there was enough background that I wasn’t lost and was able to figure out the basics of the previous storylines.
Despite not reading the other books, I was immediately pulled into the various stories and was pulling for a satisfying conclusion.
In this, Sebastian is a sadist looking for his unicorn: a sub that can take what he wants to dish out. He originally pushes Tripp away because he’s too new to BDSM, but it doesn’t take long before he realizes he needs the younger man.
If you’re not into heavy bdsm with emphasis on sadism, this is not for you. Otherwise, enjoy!
I absolutely loved this book and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it! I didn't like Sebastian when he was first introduced in ' Kitchen Sink Dom' my dislike intensified in ' Chicken Soup Dom ' but,I was still really looking forward to reading this book and,I am more than happy to say,I'm definitely not disappointed with this. This is Sebastian and Tripp's beautifully written story, which is also,a delightful ending to what has been a brilliant series, and I don't want to say goodbye! I don't want to give spoilers for this book,I want to urge readers to dive in and immerse themselves in this absolute delight.
I was excited to read from Sebastian's point-of-view because I thought he was the most morally complex character of the series. I loved the dissonance between his morally just actions and the vicious veneer he showed the world.
This book was very good; Sebastian and Tripp went together very well, and I rooted for their dynamic in a way I couldn't for Brixby and Arlo. However, I think I wish Tanya Chris had more critical beta readers.
I really love Tanya Chris's writing. I hope her beta readers get pickier in the future, because I know these books could be more cohesively plotted with more critical eyes on them. In summary: People read romance for character, not plot, and I wish the last two books of the series focused more wholeheartedly on the former.
And I'm not talking about the characters; I meant myself, while reading this book. Although the characters were also smiling... Maybe not what you'd expect in a book with a particularly sadistic Dom, but it works. But before I get to what I enjoyed - well, sum up what I enjoyed, otherwise this is going to be a really long review - I had a couple of qualms about the content.
First, the first adult scene.
There was no discussion of limits.
I know Sebastian is an experienced Dom and good at reading people, but this still rubbed me the wrong way.
Second, Trip's mindset. He's way too much of a rush seeker for it to be healthy. We later see it's not just any rush that he's after and him having limits puts my mind to rest, but I felt somewhat uneasy at first.
I know that there are sane people out there who enjoy what he does, but until those scenes where we found out he wasn't just after whatever makes him feel a certain way, I was worried about his mental state.
And that segues into the things I enjoyed in the book: I worried about Trip the same I would worry about a real person because he felt like one.
Both he and Sebastian are like real people I'd want to get to know which makes me interested in their story. Plot-wise, this is a continuation of the previous two novels - wrapping them up nicely as a final book should - but because these two were the main characters, I actually felt more invested than with Kitchen Sink Dom and Chicken Soup Dom, which, if you read my blog, you'd know I really, really liked.
Lastly - and not really part of the review, but I still want to mention it - there's a free Hell's Bedroom extra on Tanya's site. It takes place after the third book and while it's a good sample for what the series has to offer - minus the crime subplot - I suggest you read it after you finish the novels. It's a very let's catch up with your favorite characters moment - two of them, mostly - so it's more for already established fans than new readers.
I'd recommend Upsy-Daisy Dom to those who have not only enjoyed the previous two books, but would like a more... Intense continuation.
One of my favorite things about reading book series that focus on different characters set in the same over-arching storyline is allowing the author to lull me into falling in love with characters I might not have cared too much about previously. Tripp might kick off the entire human trafficking mystery in the first book of this trilogy, but other than his obvious care for Arlo, I never found much to enjoy about his otherwise selfish and slightly annoying personality. Along those same lines, Sebastian is blatantly crafted to be the antithesis to the types of Dom that Cash and Brixby represent. He’s the stereotypical sadist who thrives on control, but he’s the money behind this operation, while Tripp is the “inciting incident,” so the group kind of feels like it has to keep them around.
I’ll admit that I cackled to myself when Tripp finally goads Sebastian into playing with him, especially once I figured out how Sebastian intended to mess with Tripp’s mind. However, the scene does not play out the way I expected, and how Sebastian acts toward Tripp afterward had me sliding toward a fondness for the character. Every time they played together later (even against Sebastian’s better judgment), I realized how perfect these two characters are for each other and falling for them as they fell for each other.
Based on previous books by Chris, I already knew she could craft a tense courtroom drama. Just as I thought the dramatic finale of the external plotline would happen earlier in the book than I thought, Chris threw all of my previous expectations out the window and delivered an epic finale that I couldn’t put down.
With this novel, Chris wraps up the trilogy in a satisfying manner while also presenting another wonderful (if nontraditional) romance. I highly recommend this series to readers looking for a series of unexpected D/s relationships with just the right amount of spiciness to highlight a fantastic overarching plot.
Don't know where to start because it's pure perfection from start to ending. Wow, just WOW! Tanya Chris did it again, and created an interesting love story. I fell hard for both Sebastian and Tripp, but mostly Sebastian. I can't say straight that Sebastian is my favorite from the series, because let's be clear, I want what Arlo has with Brixby, but on an enjoyement level, well, Sebastian is the winner, because DAMN those sex scenes! Gave me butterflies with only a kiss! Holy hell, just how hot this book was! Phew.
Loved, LOVED everything about it. Sebastian is really unique and I love how Tripp handled him and didn't gave up on what he wanted, he just went for it, no matter what. No matter that Sebastian was cruel to him, no matter that Sebastian was a total asshat, Tripp just saw what others didn't and he stayed. And OMG, when Sebastian realized that Tripp was really there for the long haul, well, he got a tiny bit mushy too and it was everything. EVERYTHING.
I just loved this book. The BDSM and the sex are off the chart scorching hot, just as always, the emotions perfect, characters loveable, and yes, Sebastian too. What not to love about this? And we got a perfect ending to that human trafficking thing too (and really, how amazing the courtroom scenes were).
Perfection. I am so sad it's the end of this series, I really enjoyed all the stories. Can't wait to see what Tanya comes up with next.
PS. The ice/knife/blood play scene, DAMN!!!! But really, everything in this book was pure perfection.
What a great conclusion to the series. I really enjoyed that everyone got the ending they deserved, each ended up with the partner they wanted as well.
I liked Tripp and Sebastian together. I'm still not sure I understand Tripp's desire to the subjected to Sebastians form of torture. The mental mind games are not my thing. But I did love that Sebastian was so upset that he had made Tripp call Red in the Club. He likes to push the subs to their limit but he also likes to know when he is gettting there, and Tripp's call caught him off guard.
I'll be honest and say that Tripp's total disregard of the case was a little bit dissapointing. He knew what was at stake, was told no wait, and still went after Sebastian, Sebastian was also at fault here as well, as they both ignored what their relationship would do to the case, if it became known. I honestly thought Tripp cared about getting some justice for Arlo but when it came down to it, put himself first. It did work out in the end and Tripp did redeemed himself but he was lucky.
I loved the little friend group that was made throughout this series. It also showcased different Dom types that worked well. The whole series was an enjoyable read
This book is the amazing wrapping up to an amazing series and I love it so, so hard!
Once again, Tanya Chris has managed to skillfully weave together hard-core kink and a loving relationship in a subtle, sensual manner. Edgy play blended with sizzling passion and tender feelings, showing that there could be healing in the pain.
Sebastian and Tripp seemed an unlikely pairing, but their bond grew organically, with ups and downs, twists and turns. Their scenes together were stunning and written in such a way that, as a reader, it was easy to have a good understanding of their head space and needs. I loved every step of their relationship, seeing them slowly be strong enough to show vulnerability. Eventually it was revealed that Sebastian needed love and care as much as Tripp, and it was a truly wonderful thing to witness, as was the way they grew to rely on each other.
I'm sad to see this series end. The overall storyline was closed in a very satisfying manner, and I loved knowing all the characters introduced throughout, and being part of the family they chose for themselves.
This is the third book in the Hell's Bedroom series.. Full enjoyment will only be reached if all three books are read in order. Tanya Chris has created a plot that highlights different characters at different times but they all play a crucial role in solving the mysterious disappearances, retrieving victims, finding and prosecuting offenders.
Sebastian is an excellent, hard hitting lawyer as well as a sadistic Dom. He's rich and handsome and supremely confident in his abilities in the courtroom and the dungeon. Tripp is a twenty year old college student, lanky and quirky, and definitely kinky. Believing his kink as a submissive matches Sebastian's, he pursues him recklessly, determined to make Sebastian his own or at least make him notice him.
The author does an excellent job of bringing all the different strings of the story together in this finale. She allows the different faces of BDSM to reflect in the relationships formed as the story progresses. If I had a wish it would be to use Knight as a larger part of the story, perhaps with a secret kink of his own? I definitely recommend Upsy-Daisy Dom as a very good read. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
I've been waiting and hoping for Sebastian's book since he was introduced at the beginning of the series. So, I was all kinds of excited for Upsy-Daisy Dom - speaking of, that title is terrific, especially if you're familiar with the cranky and arrogant Sebastian. Tripp is one of those characters you can't help but like, and while I liked both these characters separately, I liked them even more as a couple. The story is fun and sexy, but I think my favorite thing is how these guys bring out the best in each other, and they each seem to know what the other needs. There has been a continuing storyline through the series, and I'll admit that I kind of wanted more closure on that part. But then, this one is more about the romance and how the court proceedings affect it, so I wasn't too disappointed by the way things turned out. So, what it comes down to is Upsy-Daisy Dom is an engaging romance with a couple you want to root for. On top of the great couple, we get to catch up with the other couples in the series, and this is a great bunch of characters. This whole series has been fun, and I'd say this couple was a good choice for the final book.
A pair of hot weirdos getting up to weird hot stuff... Okay so first off, these are not sweet likeable characters. You've got a sort of Dexter-ish sadist who tries to use his tendencies for some good as a criminal prosecutor, and a not-overly-bright sub who is often just motivated by boredom. But together they create an interesting dynamic -- the early scene Tripp goads Sebastian into uncovers tenderness in each, and they end up growing and bettering each other. The kink is an unusual read for me in the emotional sadism angle (HOLY SWEAR, that heat/cold scene!!). Like usual, Ms. Chris gives us something both fleshed out and unique to explore while keeping the heat up. As the last of the Hell's Bedroom trilogy, we get a surprisingly satisfying ending that makes you consider the justice flaws of the justice system and the people in it. Definitely read these, and read them in order. (Reviewed from an ARC but I've bought all her other books :)
This series ends with the same level of excellence we have seen in all the previous volumes and I think this one may be my favorite. Part of that is because we wrap up the plot about the human trafficking very satisfactorily and with the suspense element well handled throughout. The second reason I like this story so much is that it is a perfect spin on the grumpy/sunshine trope transformed into a D/s relationship between Sebastian and Tripp. Sebastian is one of the character types I adore - cold and unfeeling to everyone until he meets that perfect match in Tripp. It isn't easy sailing after that, however, as Tripp has a compulsion to take chances and he gets dangerously caught up in the trafficking plot. Sebastian has to make some hard choices about what is important to him and how he is willing to change.
Again this author surprises me with her stories. I expected so much different from these two characters and really enjoyed the way their story came together. Sebastian is suppose to be a sadist but when it comes to Tripp I’m not sure he maintained that. Tripp is outlandish. He is sort of whiny, self-centered, snarky, outspoken sub. He has a tendency to boss the dom. The author exposed the softer side of the sadist and he let Tripp somewhat get the upper hand. I loved the part of Sebastian bossing the gunman. I enjoyed how Tripp wanted to be the one looking after Sebastian. The resolution to the trafficking works out surprisingly great. I’m sad that this series is ending but can’t wait to see where this author goes next.
Loved the book's cover and its relevance to the story😍
Sebastian and Tripp, the leads in this story, are much more intense in their play on the D/s spectrum than the characters from the earlier books in this series. Both are looking for a challenge and, after working together investigating sub(ordinate) trafficking through the local BDSM private club, Tripp is so fascinated by and drawn to Sebastian that he won't be refused a scene with him.
I liked the idea that the supremely controlling and harsh Sebastian can't resist his pull toward Tripp and lets his tender side come out on occasion.
The leads and major secondary characters in the previous two books in the series reappear here as they all continue to socialize together thanks to ties formed while working the trafficking investigation.
I cringed a few times at the physical games Sebastian played with Tripp, but on the whole, it's mind games that he specializes in as he tries to critique, reject and/or put down Tripp and even other Doms to get his jollies.
Of course there's💦 steam, in the 🚿shower and out!
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
In the third book of the Hell’s Kitchen series, which I loved by the way, Tripp and Sebastian struggle defining their relationship. From extremely cruel to almost everyone, Sebastian finds himself caught up in Tripp and making sure he is happy. What? A wonderful read and I don’t want to spoil it, but it is good, really good, and brings to conclusion the human trafficking ring that has brought this group of Doms and Subs investigating the disappearances together. I’ve read the entire series and I loved the story premise and the HEAs that resulted when each person found the one that loved and understood what the other needed to be fulfilled. A definite must read that will make you warm and also open your eyes to different kinks. Enjoy!
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. As Deputy DA he is already pushed those limits to far. Working with the ragtag team of Hell's Bedroom to take down a trafficking ring. Limits was about to be broken, like Sebastian patients with the younger Tripp. Is the younger sub even ready for the pain that Master Sebastian craves to bring. Author Tanya Chris was accomplished one mission, Just Wow all around on this one, I mean the title so fits feeling about Sebastian and that was how to bring a bully Dom to his knees, put aggressive Tripp in his way. On a side note I totally believe that FBI agent Dobransky is thrilled to have the ragtag band of Kinksters helping out. Just a little heads up for readers, here you find sensory experience.. knife/blood play.
I've truly enjoyed this series, and this book was no exception. Tanya Chris always rekindles my interest in (reading about) BDSM. And I've been interested in these characters, especially Sebastian, throughout the earlier books.
I'm not sure I believed these characters worked together as well as the other couples, but who am I to say what will work for other people? All in all, this was a highly enjoyable read, and I'll look forward to whatever comes next.
My thanks to the author for an advance copy of this book.
What a wonderful end to an amazing series!!! Absolutely loved this book. Tripp has been a bit of a challenge for me to like in previous books but so was Sebastian. Somehow, the parts that made me get frustrated with them before morphed into making me love seeing their relationship grow. They were so perfect for each other that they became my favorite couple in the series somehow.
The book is full of more intensely physical and emotional scenes than the previous books because Sebastian is a sadist and Tripp is a masochist. The dynamics are different than previous books but in a way that suits this pair. I will say that there is beautifully done humiliation kink, in the chance that this is triggering for some folks. It is all done so well.
3.5 stars - Last book in the Hell's Bedroom series and while I still enjoyed this one, it strained credulity that this top attorney would a) be allowed to work this case given his proximity, and then, with that already being a huge issue, B) recklessly become involved with a key witness. The author did a lot of work to make it seem somewhat plausible, but I couldn't quite get on board with that part. The main relationship was as interesting as the previous two . . . I like that we're being shown different shades and tones of this lifestyle, and the inclusion of younger characters is there I think to make the explanations seem less awkward, which works for the most part. My favorite book is still the first in the series, but I enjoyed all three.
I had trouble buying a club having a "3 subs calling red in a year and you're out rule," as that would definitely discourage subs from safewording if they needed to. Also, a sub can safeword for something as simple as needing to stop to use the bathroom.
Also, it was odd that a prosecutor in Massachusetts would think "it shouldn’t be so hard to make these guys pay, considering how easy it was to fuck up someone’s life over buying weed," since recreational weed has been legal there for a while.
Another brilliant Tanya Chris book. ❤ I love the psychological aspect of the story the most. Want vs Need plays out in an unexpected way here. My brain was so hung up on trying to figure out HOW this was all going to come out to a HEA (not just Sebastian and Tripp, but also the legal case that has spanned the trilogy) that it actually gnawed on the problem in my sleep, spinning out whacky solutions as I dreamed. Not sure I can offer a higher recommendation than that...this book haunted my subconscious. 🤣
If you decide to read this book, you'll need to start with book 1 or you'll miss way too much, but the whole trilogy is worth the time and money investment, imo. Happy reading!
Each book gets better and better. This time Tripp and Sebastian get their turn. Tripp was lusting after Sebastian from the first time he saw him at Hell's Bedroom and boy did he get more than he bargained for. The gang is still trying to infiltrate the human traffickers and finally get a break. Meanwhile Sebastian is putting Tripp through a mind trip cause that's what he does best not realizing that he's actually falling for Tripp. Lots of twists and turns, action, hurt/comfort and in the end a HEA. Bonus epilogue at end of book for Harrison and Cash. I highly recommend this series.
Like the rest of the series, this was decently written but didn't quite dig in emotionally in the way I was hoping. That being said, I do usually enjoy when BDSM books feature genuine sadists, and I felt like the emotional sadism was a really interesting take on it.
The complete disregard any of the characters had for professionalism while dealing with a literal human trafficking case is another series-long flaw that got worse as time went on, so it messed with my enjoyment the most here. There's a fundamental tone/content mismatch, I think, that it would have taken a lot of work to get around. But I liked the parts with just Sebastian and Tripp, unburdened by the plot issues.
This book has it all! Excitement level is off the charts, the heat element is on fire and the romance is extreme. Sebastian and Tripp along with the support characters all bring their A game because this book is really terrific. The writing, telling and delivery of the story is top notch. I have not one negative to say but do, in fact, have many accolades to praise this author with. A job well done from start to finish. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
