Atsushi Ōkubo ( 大久保篤), also romanized as Atsushi Ohkubo, is a Japanese manga author and fantasy artist known for his work on the manga series Soul Eater, which has been adapted into an anime. Okubo worked as an assistant under Rando Ayamine, on the manga series Get Backers. He also created artwork for various cards for the Lord of Vermillion game.
Atsushi Ōkubo was not a model student and was more attracted to drawing than to learning. At the age of 20, after finishing studies at a manga school where he met Rando Ayamine, the author of Get Backers, he became Rando Ayamine's assistant for two years. Finally, he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series B.Ichi and it was published for four volumes. After the end of his last manga, he created Soul Eater, still for Square Enix's Gangan magazine, which brought him worldwide success.
I really liked it. In the previous volume, I talked about Charon and he was great in this book as well. The long-awaited cataclysm begins and everything starts to crumble. From this point on, the manga will take a different turn. For example, the world is in flames and the flames are fueled by the despair of all humanity. So, more despair equals more flames and vice versa. It starts to talk about abstract ideas (especially that chapter about 3d world) and many people seem to dislike it. However, I am curious to see what happens next, especially the clash between Arthur and Dragon (once again).
POPKULTUROWY KOCIOŁEK: Zbliżający się koniec serii Fire Force wprowadza fabułę na zupełnie nowy poziom intensywności. Tom 29 to kontynuacja dramatycznych wydarzeń, które wyznaczają początek wielkiego kataklizmu. Płomienie rozpaczy zaczynają trawić świat, a bohaterowie stają przed ostatecznymi próbami.
Jednym z najważniejszych momentów tomu jest zakończenie historii Charona. To postać silna, lojalna i absolutnie oddana Haumei. Silna osobowość odchodzi w sposób godny i spektakularny.
Niestety efekt wypada słabo i wybija z immersji.
Finally, the cataclysm begins andeverything starts going to shit (which was expected). I liked this volume, Fire Forece is able to maintain a steady level of good (above average) story, but my problem here was that they didn't keep the drama and the comedy well balance. The world ending event is here but it didn't feel like it for me, i'm gonna give it a little bit of time because the cataclysm just started. The comedy was on point.
Doppelgänger are here and there's a scene were Pan goes all out (i was so happy) but it was so short, i enede up wanting more, i don't know whats gonna happen but i have the feeling it was a missed opportunity. Also, there's a quick apperance of Kayoko Huang. She's been barely in the story so far and she's such a cool character.
Overall: Good volume, i'm very intrigued about what's to come.
Arthur is still an idiot but the reveal of his training is kind of funny and makes sense in a dumb way. But the really cool part is that some of the dead are coming back as obstacles for the heroes to face. Like the Company 1 have to fight an illusion version of Rekka and the Company 4 have to fight an illusion of their previous Captain Hague. It helps with character development as they have to overcome their feelings of these characters.
¿Verdad?

Well, time for the existential crisis as the next great cataclysm collides with the world, fueled by the despair of humanity.
Lotsa bad all around. No clue where Shinra is. But don't give up hope. Arthur's leveling up. I'm so confused as to what the hell is going on... I signed up for cool fire powers, not high level psychological philosophy.
Seirously. ABOLUTE CINEMA. So much backstories colliding, so intense. The doppelgangers are amazing, Rekka's back as a son of a *PFIIIIT* Seriously, I devoured this and am hungry for more. This is one of the best dialogue, breaking the forth wall with the old woman, the lore, the fight against despair DAMN AMAZING (and more than 2 volumes last time we saw the MC lol)
I'm still enjoying this series but I am also becoming exceedingly confused as to what is happening regarding adolla and the assimilation. I hope that the next few volumes give more explanation about what is happening or maybe I'm just not getting it.
Getting some background on Haumea and Charon almost makes me feel bad for them. Charon definitely loves Haumea and I'm sorry she lost him, he seemed to truly understand her.
A video game?!

the great cataclysm is kicking off, and i can't fucking wait to see how this all shakes out. Arthur having to play a super mintendo game to slay a dragon? pure gold.
9/10 been a while since the last volume I read of fire force and gotta say I missed it. The weird quirky humor always gets me and it’s finally here the great catalyst. The flash back before the last catalyst had me in shock and confused if this was still considered a manga lol. Sumire Sugita started the last catalysm and that’s when the world turned into a manga I guess . But still a great volume ended it by some video games with Arthur
