A biker's love is poison to the one who captures his heart.

Grimm
Thirteen years ago, he came into my life as my son’s best friend. Knobby knees and eyes wide with admiration. Six years ago, he exited my life, leaving Smoky Vale behind for good. Or at least so I thought. Now he’s back, and he’s made it clear what he’s after. Me. The President of the Grimm Reapers. His best friend’s father. Now his lover and his protector. But when my life is cloaked with uncertainty, death, and retaliation, how can I keep this beautiful brave boy knowing that my love is poison?

Jamie
My best friend doesn’t understand the way I feel about his dad. My father, the chief of police disapproves of the relationship. My supervisor cautions me against it—that it won’t be long before I end up in a body bag. But one day with Grimm is better than a lifetime without him. It’s a risk I am willing to take because the biker the world knows is not the Daddy Grimm who comes to my bed, ready to bare it all for his boy. Secrets must be confessed, lives must be taken, new paths must be forged. Can we survive the war that’s about to rage in Smoky Vale?

If you enjoy unconventional daddy/boy relationships, toppy twinks, and the high stakes of an outlaw MC romance, one-click today.

“When I’m through with you, there will be no doubt that whether I’m beside you, in a prison cell, or in my grave, I’ll always take care of you.”

After reading Bay and loving it so much I had to go back to the origins of Smoky Vale and started the Grimm Tales of Smoky Vale series.

Biker Daddy is the first book of the series. We have Jaime, the son of the police chief, who has been in love with Grimm, the president of an Outlaw Motorcycle Club for a long time. Since he was thirteen, he has been doing everything he could to get the older man to look his way. He leaves behind Smoky Vale to go to medical school in Boston but returns home years later to complete his residency and claim his man.

Grimm has done everything in his power for his son Joel and Jamie to leave their small town behind for a better life. He has worked hard to keep both boys away from the MC life. He's also been pushing away Jamie's advances since he was a teenager, but when he returns, he quickly finds out that his obsession and love for him has not waned and only intensified over the years.

I enjoyed this story; as usual, Gianni's writing is so addictive. It was hard to put Biker Daddy down. It was a pretty gritty story, and while not dark dark , there was a fair amount of violence, death and blood. It was very character and relationship focused with a mystery subplot.

As usual Gianni writes very hot sex scenes, and I enjoyed each one. This story sort of played with the tropes and relationship dynamic between Jamie and Grimm. Grimm is older, dominant, ruthless, and very much alpha outside, but there's a flip in the bedroom. In which Jaime is in charge, or rather, Grimm seems to top from the bottom. This subversion might not appeal to everyone especially if you're looking for a traditional Daddy/boy relationship. He gives up control and lets Jaime take charge, but both still see themselves in the respective roles as Daddy and Boy outside. Grimm fully trusts Jaime and is the only who sees this other side of him.

“I’d never seen Grimm cry before. He was not that kind of man. Allowing himself to unravel before me was one of the greatest signs of how much this man and I shared. How much trust existed between us.”

“I loved the vulnerability that I saw in his face when he allowed me to fuck him in the good ole missionary position. It was my favorite because then I could stare into his face, seeing every rapt look of wonder that crossed his features when I was pushing inside his body.”

This leads me to one issue I had with this story. The Daddy/boy kink strong. I felt like it was very surface level, and outside of them referring to each other as Daddy or Boy, it just wasn't there at least to the depth I would have like to see. Grimm is protective and takes care of Jamie for sure, but it could have been pushed more in my opinion.

“I loved Grimm Buckley more than life.”

“I’d had a crush on Grimm since I met him; then I’d fallen madly in love with him when he bought me my first professional makeup kit, so I’d stop getting breakouts from the cheap stuff.”

“You are mine to protect, Jamie,” I told him fiercely. “For as long as you are here in Smoky Vale, you are under my protection. That means I’ll have to make tough decisions sometimes. I may have to be harsh with my men because if they don’t respect me as a leader, then they’ll want to overthrow everything my family has worked hard to build.”

There's a great cast of side characters. I like the closeness, loyalty, and brotherhood between the club members and looking forward to a few of the members' stories. I especially can't wait for the Twins because there's something taboo going on between them for sure.

Overall I enjoyed Biker Daddy and look forward to the next book Fable's Foes

What a ride. I love Gianni's crazy possessive characters and their unique filthy relationships.
This is the introduction of the motorcycle club and its president. And Jamie, who has been in love with Grimm since his teenage years and now finally wants to win him over.

The story is beyond fluffy, there is plenty of violence and bleeding, but it is not as dark as some of the author's other stories. Maybe even a good entry point if you've never read anything by Gianni before.
There is a bit of a Daddy/boy kink, but more in name only. And then there is the fact that the balance of roles in bed is quite different from what you think. 🤩

I love Jamie's sassy side. And I love how they both trust each other once they get into the relationship.

He had kissed me back with passion, and he could no longer deny what we both knew. He was as mine as I was his. 😍

I loved the vulnerability that I saw in his face when he allowed me to fuck him in the good ole missionary position. It was my favorite because then I could stare into his face, seeing every rapt look of wonder that crossed his features when I was pushing inside his body. 😳

Safety info, content warnings and tropes down below.

This is not gonna be a nice review.

I don’t remember the last time a book gave me the ick as fast as this one did. Although I don’t understand it on a personal level, I don’t necessarily mind a character who sleeps around a lot, but I do expect a main character to treat their hookups like goddamn human beings.

He knew what his role was here, nothing but a fuck hole. He’d given in to me too many times before not to understand what was at stake. He had come to my bed willingly, offering himself up just the way he knew I liked ’em. Too horny to say no and with too little self-worth not to accept everything that was being done to him without protest.

He was nothing but trash. Sweet, but trash nonetheless. I treated him as such because that was the only thing he knew and responded to. I had no reason to feel guilty about it as we all had our own roles in this life. His was to keep a dick warm.

This is how he treats poor Cass, someone who depends on the club for food and shelter. I know to leave most of my morals at the door when I read books with a motorcycle club. I didn’t bat an eye at the taboo aspect of how long Grimm has known Jamie. It didn’t bother me one bit when they burned someone alive. But I do expect my morally gray characters to be decent and kind deep down, especially with vulnerable people.

This is what he thinks about Cass a few days later after he has had sex with Jamie:

He was high and dressed slutty like the men in my club liked him: jockstrap that left his ass readily available and a mesh halter top that showed off his toned body. I was never one to judge, but for a hot second, I was irritated at the way he carelessly offered his body around to anybody willing.

A 47 year old man who thinks of the person they’re sleeping with like the first two quotes, only to judge them for the same behavior a handful of days later, is trash. Of course he ‘carelessly’ offers his body to anybody. They’ve all shown him that’s the only worth he has.

Anyway. Against my better judgement I kept reading. I enjoyed Jamie’s character a lot, and he was 99% of the reason why I was invested at all. He’s a toppy femme twink, snarky as hell and doesn’t let anyone mess with him. The middle of the book was relatively interesting when everyone was in mortal danger for a while, and I was able to forget how much I fucking hated Grimm.

Then, the last 30% was a complete mess. It was like the American biker version of a damn telenovela. It was so melodramatic that I couldn’t do anything but roll my damn eyes. Apparently everyone has slept with everyone, and everyone is pining and suffering from self-inflicted unrequited love. I’d say the only thing missing was a surprise pregnancy, but even that happened, only in Grimm’s past.

Then I reach 96%, thinking finally, I’ve nearly finished and can move on from this mess. Still, it managed to piss me right off once more:

“Jamie, I—” He stopped and swallowed, eyes boring into mine. He inhaled deeply and let out the breath on a sigh. “I know,” I told him. “I know, and I feel the same way about you.”

Need I remind you this man is 47 years old? He’s known Jamie since he was 11 years old. They’ve been exclusive for a fair amount of time. And he still can’t even say ‘I love you’. He hasn’t changed even a little bit.

I’ve read (and loved) Bloom 1&2, so I sadly know that Grimm and Jamie stay together. I can only imagine an alternative reality where Jamie leaves his ass.

I’m somewhat comforted by the fact that this is an older book for the author, but I was rudely reminded of all the things I really dislike about biker romances.

Sadly, the phrase ‘toss my salad’ was used unironically during a rimming scene, which is unforgivable.

My first time reading this author and overall it was fairly good.

I personally don't get why the Daddy kink was in the book, though. It was there, but only in them calling each other "Daddy/boy" and the occasional "you want to fuck Daddy?" or something like that. Like for me, if you're going to include a kink, go all in man, don't be shy. Don't just have them call each other that word and let that be that. Where's the dynamic? (more than Grimm being protective. I guess him taking care of Jamie all the time was a "Daddy" thing, but still...)

And yes, Jamie can still top and be firmly in the "boy" role but there was really no roles between them so it didn't seem necessary? Like just have it be a light D/s relationship or whatever, idk.

However, their relationship was interesting and I did find them enjoyable together. The plot was mostly interesting too as I found myself glued to the pages at time. That waned a tad for me around 70-ish percent, and it was getting a little slow, but then it picked up again towards the end.

Overall, I did like this story and I did enjoy the age gap, even if I was disappointed in how the Daddy kink wasn't fully utilized. (I find that in quite a lot of Daddy!kink books I've read...I just...what's the point if they don't even really use the kink? It's supposed to be to get off, right? Then how is just using the name enough? What about the whole dynamic? I don't get it. I mean some don't have to be hardcore, of course, but I expect *more* than just calling each other Daddy/boy, is all I'm saying.)

The writing was a tad stilted at times for me and didn't always flow as naturally as I would have liked, and while I did very much enjoy Jamie and Grimm together overall, there could have been more, more passion, more chemistry, just more. I think a big part of making them not connect as much as they could have was how opposed Grimm was to them at first. When Jamie was a teenager that was completely understandable, but it takes a bit for Grimm to give in in the present when Jamie is a full blown adult and everything, so maybe that contributed, idk. It took awhile to feel the love on Grimm's side, for me.

So yeah, overall this first time reading this author went well for me and this was an interesting, fun read for the most part. It just could have gone better, I think. Idk if I'll read this author again, even though I didn't hate this and I enjoyed it. But it didn't wow me either. Maybe if a blurb really interests me again in the future, I will. But for now this author is just good for me. Enjoyable, but not amazing. An author I might read in the future, but am not itching to read more of now.

Despite some editing issues I enjoyed this short introduction to new series. Since this book will be rewritten into a full novel, I am sure all the mistakes will be fixed. This is a beginning for a sassy virgin boy and his biker Daddy who likes to give up control in the bedroom. Daddy Grimm is crude and dangerous, but when it comes to Jamie he can't say no. He's tried to keep Jamie at bay for years, but this boy has waited too long for his Daddy, and he's come to collect his due!

It was s*exy AF with some kinky elements that I have never read but came totally on board after reading this!!! There was a bit of drama in the end, which was nice if a bit unnecessary for such a short snippet. I was sold from the first page! I expect this will be wonderful series featuring the bikers of the OMG (Outlaw Motorcycle Gang). Oh, and the glossary in the beginning really helped! All in all, I recommend it!

I held off reading this as I wasn’t in the mood for a kink book but it’s pretty low key - really just them calling each other Daddy/boy and there being an age gap. This was fast paced. Good mix of action plot and romance. Lots of interesting side characters. I surprised myself with how much I liked the relationship and Jamie’s character. I’ve read the Mortician and felt like I needed to come back and get the backstory for everyone.

Soapy. Gritty. Steamy.

A raw, unfiltered, heartfelt, sexually explicit , MM, contemporary, age gap, Kinky, opposite attract, romance story.

Set in a small town USA , around the lives of members of the Grimm Reapers motorcycle club and others MC Clubs. Told in dual POV by the heroes of this tale , Grimm and Jaime; two intense , conflicting and endearing characters . And their road to HEA it's full of deep lows, inconvenient half truths, humor, passion, and love for each other.

With Biker Daddy , Gianni Holmes delivers an entertaining and satisfying story. My first book by this author , first read of 2020 and first book in The Grimm Tales of Smokey Vale series.

Received a copy of Biker Daddy through LesCourt and am leaving my unbiased review.

As the first book in the series, this story lays foundation to all the characters both main and secondary as well as the town of Smoky Vale with all its secrets and struggles. Told in dual POV, this is age gap romance with slight Daddy kink, lots of quirky characters that make me want to know their stories and pretty steamy encounters. *fans herself, no wait, I need a fan to cool off*

I liked Grimm a lot. He faced challenges everyday being the president of Grimm Reapers and juggling the roles of father, friend and lover at the same time. He is honorable and decisive, a bit rough around the edges yet tender with those he cares about. I liked how he turned into a pile of goo when it came to Jamie but was strong enough to do what needed to be done for his protection. There were a lot of hidden truths he carried on his shoulders, but time and circumstances forced them all out in the open.

Jamie is a bit of a diva, but at the same time he is smart, resilient and determined to grab life with both hands and be happy. He storms Grimm's high defensive walls, and Grimm doesn't stand a chance. I enjoyed Jamie's sass and how much he loved Grimm despite all he had to do to keep everyone safe. He got him the way no one ever did and gave Grimm what he needed in the bedroom and out of it. I enjoyed their banter, sweet moments as well as their amazing chemistry.

There was moderate amount of suspense, a bit of intrigue, plenty of angst and enough bloodshed running through the streets of Smoky Vale to keep this girl thoroughly engrossed in the story and rooting for Jamie and Grimm to stay alive and happy. The side characters were various and each uniquely their own in a way that at times made me angry at them, then curious as to who they were and how they ended up with Grimm Reapers. I liked the idea of inclusive MC who accepted people who didn't fit the mold in one way or another. Ms Holmes created characters who I wanted to succeed and be happy as best as they could in the world of turf wars and illegal dealings. Very satisfying story that made me want more of Smoky Vale! I recommend it. Copy received for my honest and unbiased review

Grimm and Jamie and a lot of biker family.

Wowww that was a strongly written gritty story. On one side we have a lot of dirty and filthy-mouthed rough, tough bikers, who f*cked everyone available. On the other side, we have men who are committed to each other till death.

Graeme Buckley aka Grimm aka Daddy Grimm told him a thousand times: “No, no, no and go back to Boston”
Jamie, son of a police chief, is in love with his best friend father Grimm, president of the Grimm Reapers motorcycle club. From when he was just a boy Jamie loved Grimm and told himself he will marry the man. Grimm doesn’t want him but how long can he resist this beautiful boy, who he raised like his own son and who stole his heart.

“I could crush him with my arms, but with his body, he crushed my heart.”

There is a wide story told about long last love, competitive motorcycle clubs, dangerous men with small hearts. Dangerous men with cold hearts. Life in danger more than once. Blood, violence, knives, guns it’s all there. But also deep-rooted love. We see protection at its best, where morality is far to find. It’s all bordering on the criminal side when you look at it through different glasses.
The whole story is so well balanced, it felt all so complete. The good, the bad and the ugly. It’s all there. The possessiveness over the other, coming from both men was overwhelming and delicious. The sex scenes were explicitly described and arousing af. Every moan and trust was palpable. It was one feast to experience. All the characters were intriguing and well developed.
An excellently written dark gritty story with a touch of humor and lightness. Not for the faint of heart. Beware of some strongly ruthless acts.

Some were not just secondary characters, their role had a promise, a promise there will be more coming, yesss!

ETA 2020 -This book has been completely revised and rewritten from this short story. I suggest you read that version as it is light years ahead of this one.

Original Review

***20k novella Free at the moment from ProlificWorks***

MC books are my jam but I had so many issues with the story and execution here that I’m surprised I finished it. Especially since I had enjoyed this authors Take Care of You series so much.

The prologue was veering on cheesy and read more like a first draft. The basic setup and dialogue seemed to be more suited to a daytime soap-opera than a bad-arse biker romance.

There was also no tension, no excitement, no anticipation. I can’t even say that I liked the characters. Grimm was no sexy Daddy and Jamie was plain annoying. He was meant to be a resident doctor but spent most of his time acting like a fifteen year old who’d had his Xbox taken away.

Ultimately there was just way too much telling, repetition and general editing problems. In the author notes it does say it will be expanded on to become a novel, but honestly it would have to be completely rewritten for me to even think about going there.

The plot point where Grimm had had his colours stripped for being gay was interesting enough on its own. I wish that the author had focused on that and not this insipid relationship as the beginning to a new series.

First thoughtsI read the 20k novella when it came out in prolific works. It wasn’t great. But I did say that if the author reworked this I might give it another try. And at 110k I’m going to give this one another chance.

So...this was freaking light years better than the original novella, which I 2 starred. Thank. Fuck.

Jamie is only slightly annoying but also loves ferociously and refuses to be someone he’s not. And Grimm is one romantic, sexy, biker Daddy (where before he was just gross). There’s OTT action, death & dismemberment, hot & dirty flip-fucking, and a cast of secondary characters I want to read all about. And the drama, the plot...so many red herrings and intrigue. So many connections and intertwining lives in a small town. Even though I rolled my eyes a time or two it was still really fun to read. Can’t wait for the next one-a juicy MMM...oh yeah!!!!!

One thing I really like about Gianni Holmes is that she can turn tropes on their heads. She likes to write about unconventional relationships and does it well.

This is a age gap, little top/big, burly bottom who is also a Daddy. It's seems like it wouldn't work but it does. The author does like to write OTT drama and it can be really extra but it can be expected in a story with gritty, hardened outlaw bikers.

It got a little convoluted at the end with the back story about Jamie's dad and Grimm, but whatever.

I am hoping the next book comes out soon because it seems like it could be a great series.

No no no. You totally lose me when you make a younger, bratty, fem, twink VIRGIN top the older, gruff, biker Daddy. No sirreee Bob. That's too many no's right there. I am imaginative but not THAT imaginative. Hard pass. DNF @ 50%.

Now where is the story about Jamie's dad and Uncle Ben? I wanna read THAT!

I have to say that I‘m really glad I stumbled across that book because I enjoyed it immensely!
Jamie our sassy boy longed for Grimm out gruffy biker daddy, since he was a teenager but all his moves he made on him fell on deaf ears but he was determined to keep going.
I love the dynamic between those two even it was sexy, sweet, powerful and kinky.
I also have to say I liked the side characters a lot (can’t wait to read about them in the other books).
And the story had really everything drama, angst, action but also tender moments and I found it was out balanced perfectly!

I enjoyed this book so much more than I thought I would to be honest.
Jamie has longed for Grimm since he was a teenager but all his advances failed however he made a promise that he’d be back and he kept to it.
The relationship that grows between the two men is sweet, sexy and powerful.
Not at any point was I bored, there was angst and action throughout.
The only downfall is that we hardly saw the father and son relationship between Grimm and Joel.
I’d definitely recommend reading this book even if it’s not your usual read.

So, I admit that I didn't instantly fall in love with this book like I expected. The first book I ever read from Gianni was Bay (The Smoky Vale Alliance 1), a sequel to this series. Instant love for that book, and it's still one of my favorites. I go back and read snippets as they pop into my mind all the time.

BD has all sorts of things I didn't expect in it that pushed my limits. Jamie and Grimm's dynamic, which mad me face my own biases of "big man top, little man bottom." Watching a character deal with trauma by having sex with EVERYONE, and then dealing with the aftermath of that, feeling like he was unlovable because he was "used." If you've been following me, you'll know I had that little freak out about virginity in characters and how I shouldn't expect it, but for some reason I do.

Anyway, the first half of this book was a struggle to get through, but the second half brought it all together. More action, more emotion, more details brought to light that tied this book with Bay.

Yes, I cried like a little biotch multiple times in the second half.

I seriously thought I would abandon this series and continue on with The Smoky Vale Alliance series, but now I'm open to reading the next book, Fable's Foes. A threesome, even. Yes, I have biases against menages, too. I HAVE PROBLEMS, OK?!

Anyway, I'm glad that this book wasn't a dud.

Everything I’ve been looking for.

I have been looking for a good Motor cycle club book forever and I’m SOO glad I stumbled upon this gem. And what a gem it is. I loved all of this. All of it. Big tough, and criminal. I loved how J was the one who pursued Daddy G. Which was a twist, I loved their Hawt dynamic. And I enjoyed their story. It was hot, it was suspenseful, and it was love. It had all the ruggedness I enjoy in a good MC book.
The writing was great, the side characters were AMAZING. Can’t wait for other books. I’ll have to skip over the next book which saddens me because I liked the characters, but that set up just isn’t my jam. I’m jealous chic. But I will be on the look out for other stories.

"Just come nack to me," he said on a whisper. "I don't care what you do or who you have to-to kill, as long as you come back to me."

I enjoyed this daddy/boy (no age play) age gap biker romance. my favorite aspect was that our big burly biker Daddy preferred to bottom. I have a feeling this is a series that I'm going to love with each book in the series, because I'm already attached to more than a few of the club brothers.

I decided December last year that I am so stuck in my ways and need to try at least 5 books this year that I would not normally read. Like this one for instance I am not a big fan of Daddy play and MC books normally could go any way. So this is my number 1 of 5 new to try ☺☺☺

And I am pleased to say I am not regretting reading this book and seeing that it's the first book in a new series I will probably get to the rest eventually. The author gave us a nice platform and an interesting spin on all the characters to intrigue me enough that I will keep wonder what's going on with the other characters what made them tick the way the do.

This book actually had a story to tell and it was not just about sex if I remember correct there were only a hand full of scenes between Grimm and Jamie they actually liked to cuddle and talk. I do love age gaps and this book just kept surprising me ... There's a lot going on in this book and you need to keep up. Yes, there were a thew mistakes and it was far from perfect but I really enjoyed the bond between Grimm, Jamie and all the colorful characters in between.

I really struggled to wrap all the little parts of Jamie into one character, there was so much more to him and he have so many layers Even though he is a bit on the fem side. - now this is what had me a bit confused. The author made a point of letting the readers know that he likes make-up and he wanted a prom dress (what Grimm got him ) but, he did not wear it.... but he had only once dress-up session if I can call bum cheeks hanging out of a very short - short ☺☺☺☺ but, at the end I just went with the flow....

There is constantly things happening so never a dull moment.

I enjoyed this. It grew on me as I read it, which I did in increments over a few days. Like most Gianni Holmes books this is not to be taken seriously! It's all possessive partners, dramatic rescues, dirty talk and dieter sex. See why I like it? It did have the tendency to feel like it was dragging a bit, but reading it in small bites helped. I am interested in reading Fable, the next story in the series.

I really enjoyed Biker Daddy! The story was dark, gritty and suspenseful - the perfect mix for a biker romance. It was well written and built an excellent foundation for coming books in the series.

I liked that there were some history between Jamie and Grimm, with Jamie being best friends with Grimm’s son. Also because of that history, Grimm was really adamant at first to not start anything with Jamie, and I thought it would take a bit longer than it did before they got together. Jamie was definitely a force to be reckoned with when it came to Daddy Grimm, and I couldn’t help but love his spirit and sass.

The two sides of Grimm was well portrayed, the ruthless leader of an outlaw MC club contra the softer, protective Daddy role he had with Jamie. The Daddy kink was pretty mild, but it was easy to see that it was a dynamic that Jamie needed. There were lots of hot and steamy scenes, I loved how filthy these two were and how detailed the writing was!

A strong start to the series, with lots of interesting side characters and a partly continuous plot. I can’t wait to see what these bikers get up to next!
