Skyler Snow's Trusting His Daddies is tge third book in the Meant To Be series. Emotional and beautiful story about love and building a family. Figuring out the ups and downs of trying to grow a family while still holding on to your relationships outside of being daddies to children who need you as much as you need them. Reece, Lukas, and Carsen are beautiful together and the kids are adorable. Sweet, sexy and wonderful.
I’ve really enjoyed this series and watching these three men grow in their relationship together. Reese really comes into himself and becomes stronger and more confident. Lukas and Carsen are so hot together and I love how dominant they are. The way their family grew with Carsen’s dad coming to live with them and the kids being adopted....it’s a beautiful ending.
Trusting His Daddies is the third and final book in the Meant to Be series by Skyler Snow. The story of Reece and his Daddies Carsen and Lukas continues, now their little family grows with the arrival of 5 year old Maya en baby Andrew. Their story is sweet, sexy, hot, funny and very well written. I love these three so much from the start of the first book and fell in love with Maya and Andrew this time.
I love this trilogy! I loved reading about how they first met, when they realized they all belonged together, and I loved reading about them getting their happily ever after. Awesome books!!
4.75✨️ - BUT... bear with me cuz I have a lot to say.
I know the rating might seem too high for what I'm about to say BUT... I feel like anything lower wouldn't be fair either and I'll explain why.
Book one was initially a 4.5, then after reading book 2 and gave it 4.75 I realized that did not feel right either so I changed the rating to 4.25 for book 1 and 4.5 for book 2. Lower wouldn't have been fair in my opinion since I did enjoy the characters and fell in love with them. Now, this book is 4.75 because, as I said if I rated it lower I feel it wouldn't be fair cuz that means I'd have to lower the ratings for the other books as well and I can't do that again. It is a mess, I know. The reason why I don't wanna go lower than 4 with either one of them is, as I mentioned, I did love the characters and enjoyed the books. I also feel like one day I could go back to reading them again so... there's that.
Now, back to this book and the review... 4 75✨️ with an asterisk.
I wished this book would've been a 5✨️, but I feel like every one of these books in the series missed something at some point and this makes me sad. I wonder wth the alpha/beta/editors did while reading these series. It could've been exceptional, yet... the timeline was all over the place. At some point I didn't even understand how old everyone was. At the end of book 2 Reece was about to turn 20, in book 3 four month later he was 21. Andrew was 2, 1 year later he was still 2. I felt like no one paid attention to these details and I bet the book was read by multiple people who didn't care enough before it was published. Such a missed opportunity.
I know Skylar loves to write about the 'Daddy k*nk', this is, after all, the 2nd series I read by this author with this k*nk and I saw a few more out there. What I don't understand is why she decides to do some things and then leave them in the air. Why? Why? For example, in book 2 we find out that Reece is a little and we get to explore for a bit this side of him, but then sht hits the fan and life happens and we move on. I said, ok, maybe in book 3, but then the kids come into play and we kind of abandon this side of Reece and just see glimpses here and there that don't even make sense. I felt like she throws those things in there just to have some sort of continuity without any substance at all. Disappointing.
We know that when you have kids in a story they either make or brake a book. I personally don't have a problem with them, and I liked Maya and Andrew a lot. They did add some depth to the story, but... it also took away from a lot of other parts and I feel like they made the couple feel less instead of making them feel like more. It was not the fault of the kids, it was the fault of the author tbh.
In book 1 we find out that Lukas wants someone to take care of, then he meets Reece and all his dreams come true, then in book 2 Reece is all of a sudden a little and Lukas is thriving... then book 3 roles around and they have 2 small kids to take care of and... well, this is where I feel the things got off tracks, for me at least, because... it made me wonder, WAS REECE REALLY A LITTLE OR LUKAS JUST WANTED KIDS AND ONCE HE HAD THEM HE COULD BE HIS TRUE CAREGIVER SELF? Tbh, Carsen didn't seem like he wanted a little, he wanted a sub, but somehow he became a Daddy to a little and then a Dad to real kids.
Why throw the little k*nk in there if you didn't intend to explore that fully? It just felt like Reece's needs were not met. Why? They should've just kept it at simple Daddy K*nk and move on.
I think the author tries to add too many things to the story and then forgets about them or doesn't care enough.
Reece is young, so young, and I felt like he was thrown into all this without truly having the time to process anything. From thrown out by his family for being gay, to meeting Lukas and Carsen, to starting a relationship, to being there for a sick/dyying parent ( Carsen's ), to getting married out of necessity ( I think they would've gotten there eventually but... ), to burying said parent, to starting school, to becoming a parent himself... it is too much for a 20yo. And the worst part is that Lukas acted irrational and disrespected Reece a few times unnecessarily, if you ask me. The worst part is that I didn't see Lukas repent for all that. Actually I feel like the author created this moments for drama but then it did nothing to solve those issues. The problems got solved off page and it felt out of nowhere. I think these are things we should read about, not just hear about. It makes it unrealistic.
Their love life became the life of an old married couple pretty fast if you ask me, and it is not fair for Reece. Lukas and Carsen had years together to figure things out, and I felt like the author didn't give the same to Reece. She threw him into the deep end and deal with it.
As I said, the kids, life, those were not the problems, the problem was that the author left so many important things unresolved, and acted like everything is all right when it wasn't. Is their love even that strong? Sure, Lukas' and Carsen's is but... with Reece? Tbh, I would've loved Reece to leave them at some point, just go and live the life of a 20yo and maybe meet them again in the future. It felt like when the kids came he became just... another husband. They said he was still their boy, and bla bla, but it didn't really feel that way.
I know that after reading all this you might thing, "how t f did this chick gave this book 4.75 if she complains so much?" and believe me, I get it, but... even tho I think I still have things I could complain about, I also loved this book/series.
I do feel like Reece, Lukas and Carsen are made for each other. They do belong together, 100% they belong together. I think if the author would've focused more on some parts and added some more details here and there throughout the series it would've been perfect. I think the books just needed a bit more pages with scenes that really tied all the things together, that's it.
Reece is a sweetheart, and his love for his husbands is proven over and over in the books. I feel like he is the one that makes all the sacrifices, and that's out of love and appreciation for both his men.
Carsen is a hardazz, but he is sweet when he needs to be and I do think he loves Reece. Lukas... yeah, he loves Lukas for sure, but I feel like he loves Reece too.
Lukas... he is the sweetest, but he is also all over the place and in this book made me wanna freaking slap him over the head. I get why he acted that way, but without more context I feel like we got from 'he is the best' to... this version that we don't really know.
I did love them together, in the few moments we got to see that, but also... what was their dynamic in the end?
Ugh, I hate how hard it is to rate this book and this series overall. Maybe ignore the ratings and just read what I said, I feel like that would help more than anything.
Overall the series was a 4.5, I would recommend it somewhat, but I have other books/series with trouples and same k*nk that are way better to recommend. It is a fun series, and overall the characters are lovable. They are entertaining. This is a series about life after all and life is messy. I just wished between all this mess we would've gotten more of some things that really mattered, and less of the same thing that was repeating itself without adding to the story.
Maybe one day the author will edit this series again and make it perfect, as it should've and could've been from the beginning. I doubt it, but I will hope for this.
As I said, I do recommend it, you will not have a bad time reading it. You will actually love it even more than me if you don't mind having things happen off page or not explained at all and you are just happy with... everything was solved, moving on.
Not really a fan of this last book. It was all over the place. Lukas didn't think Reece could be a father and yet later he said he was a great dad and always knew he would be. Lukas was the first to call Reece out for his "bad parenting" and yet couldn't see his own behavoir and break downs. I know he eventually did bur I don't feel like he really ever apologized to Reece. Carsen I felt was just there, not really doing too much. And the timeline felt like it was all over the place as far as how long it had bee , kids ages, stuff like that. And when I first started this series I was expecting it to become so family oriented, it was a weird shift. And lastly I felt like the book could have ended much sooner when it did. At 60% I was surprised to see there was still 40% left, it kind drug on and on. Book 1 was the type of book I expected, book 2 ok until the kid tqist thrown in, book 3 totally different type of storyline that I didn't expect it to progress to.
This is the one I struggled the most to love as the plot went somewhat over to daytime soap. With how their issues got resolved rather easily with no issues about their trio adopting children.
The story lacked a peak, with Lukas's anxiety and Reese's insecurities it could have been so much better than what it turned out. Perhaps I'm just not cut out for the low-angst, full on sweetness that is this story.
This is the best book in the series. Because it wraps up nicely, I like that it wasn't all smooth sailing , I could see their imperfections and how they loved themselves through it. The addition of the kids just made it more wholesome. It's a beautiful end.
An emotionally packed story about the joys of introducing new family members and the ups and downs that incorporates it. Carsen, Reece and Lukas adopt Andrew and Maya and strengthen their bond while building new ones. Reece worries that he won't fit his little side in with his new responsibilities but Carsen and Lukas both show him how much he is loved and needed, there is struggles with juggling their private life and melding everything together but love shines through and gives us a beautiful end to this trilogy.
I truly enjoyed this series and reading about their ups and downs in the first series when they were coming together. In the second series it had me crying due to their loss and the third series had me so afraid for them. However in the end I was so happy everything came together for people whom were deserving of a family
I couldn't put down the first book and read all 3 back to back. I love these guys and the journey they take to becoming a complete family. True acceptance and love is hard to find and if u find it let nothing take it from u.....thats what I take away from series......love everything I've read from Skyler Snow
A beautiful end to a beautiful series. I loved watching Carsen, Lukas and Reece's family grow, not just with the babies but with Carsen's dad and the others too. It was the perfect ending to an awesome series and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Wow what a ride I couldn't put the book down ... That's when you know your hooked on a good book. Ups and down with story line kept me engaged. I had to keep turning the page
The final book in the series was a fantastic wrap up to Lucas, Reece and Carsen’s story. It took a while, and lots of love, but the three men finally have everything they ever wanted, and more!
I loved this series so much. It had me buried so deep in my feelings that I didn’t know which way was out! I cried, laughed, and genuinely rooted for the main characters so hard. 10 out 10 would recommend!
A very sweet, sexy, fun and entertaining series - I highly suggest reading all 3 books in the series as they follow each other closely and are all focused on the same 3 MC's.
An absolute must read. Had me gripping my seat with tears and laughter. Wild characters and heart wrenching events, not to mention the love all round. Loved it....
I have loved reading the journey of these three men! It has been a great reading experience going through their up and downs, while becoming a true family!
