Diallo Lovett had his world turned upside when a man he’d believed was his mate not only lied to him, but kidnapped Diallo to torture him. After years of abuse, Diallo was rescued, only to find the real torture was just beginning because now he had to find a way to put his life back together. An explosion took Dugan Nash’s leg but not his determination to make those responsible pay. With a lot of sweat and tears he finally was able to walk with the help of a prosthesis. The moment Diallo meets Dugan, he knows he was fooled all those years ago. Dugan is his real mate. The events of his past make Diallo too leery to trust in the one man meant to be his. Dugan knows of Diallo’s past but is determined to find a way to break down the walls Diallo has erected and heal the scars that surround his heart. PLEASE This is a second edition. It has been revised and re-edited, but there is no significant changes to the overall story.

Whether at home or traveling she is usually in front of her computer writing or curled up with a good book.
As much as I abhor when authors maim their characters, I truly believe that the dolphins were the highlight of this story. They were simply amazing and it touched my heart that they were so intelligent and helpful. Although, there was such horrific grief for Diallo to work through, I did appreciate the deep passion that the two main characters had found for each other. I truly wish that this was a series without a war going on, but considering that it's the title of this series, I guess that its just not possible. Anyway, this was a well written and very thought out story which definitely held my attention and interest. Nicely done.
I loved reading about Diallo and Dugan. Those two definitely deserved and needed each other in a way the other couples didnt. I'm just glad that Diallo came to his senses about having a mate.
Two seemingly broken men need to dig deep to make it through in this latest instalment of paranormal greatness, already looking forward to meeting the next couple to go on an adventure
This book is part of a series and should be read in order. This series also coincides with events happening in the Paranormal Wars: Juarez series.
Ok, this book was a little disappointing to me. I was pretty sure Diallo was described as a blue-eyed blond in “Mating in Stormy Waters” and he was. So when he was introduced as a slim-black man we copper eyes I was confused. So my OCD made me go back and look it up. And yes he has been completely changed since he was introduced. So from the start things we getting a little off course.
Next up is way would Dugan be chosen to lead the hunt for the children? Nothing was ever said about why he and Diallo for that matter were selected. Also what the hell was the deal with the Death Valley scene? Why were they dropped there? That all deal made no sense to me.
OK, looking past all the things they left me with questions. The romance between Diallo and Dugan was nice and sweet. Both men have deep scars. Dugan from the bombing that left him without a leg, and Diallo with his years of physical and sexual abuse.
The fact that Diallo was able to let Dugan in and find happiness was good. Dugan was so gentle with Diallo since he has heard the stories of what happened to Diallo. There were also some really sweet and cute moments between them. I really liked the scene with the wild dolphins.
Overall, not as good as some of the other books in the series. But, if you can look beyond some of the inconsistencies, a good romance.
Glancing at another review apparently Diallo isn't a 'new' character... in my case, it was so unremarkable that I don't remember him AT ALL.
I barely remember where Dugan was first mentioned...
Ok so for the most part I like it. The dolphin ralley helping Diallo was cool.
Not sure why Dugan was picked (except for trustworthiness) for this mission since no one knew they were mates until after they met. And didn't get to see fruition of Diallo in the drivers seat doing the taking... Or did I forget that already?..
The Death Valley situation literally made no sense! Why would they be dropped there and what was the end game of that situation? Nice that Dugan can kick behind still but it still didn't make sense why they were there to begin with, playing these games with the enemy. And what happened to the sniper?
ok I'm confused!!! in the book mating in stormy waters Diallo was described as having bleach blonde hair down to his shoulders and had startling light blue eyes with lush lips and now in this book he's described as a slim black man with the most unusual copper colored eyes!!!! Did the author forget what her character looked like in the previous book? Because I certainly didn't. SMH
