First things first; I really like the cover of this book! Chucky’s pride is the first book in the ‘’night howlers MC’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When Chucky and Maria meet, sparks fly but their lives are leading in different directions. Will they ever get their chance at love? The chemistry between Chucky and Maria is clear to see and I liked them together. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
That was a nice quick read - I like an assertive female who goes for what she wants, and Maria certainly did from the first moment she met Chucky.
They hit it off immediately, and carried on for months, but Maria wanted to further her education, she never shared her feelings with Chucky, and he never told her he wanted her forever, so she went on her way, and he lived without her, miserably and full of regret.
Twenty years later, she comes home - her family lives in town, and Chucky has heard, through the grapevine, she is back.
Finally they are in touch with each other - blurting out feelings that should have some out decades ago - so much time wasted - but they are together now - satisfying read.
Literally a steamy romance and a half (many of the words in this e-book come from the beginning of the next one in a series), this is a story about adults who want to spend their lives doing what seemed cool when they were in grade eight or nine. Rebelliousness, drinking and drugs, lots of sex, lots of fast motorcycles, living one step ahead of the law...The sex is detailed enough to attract disgusting ads to your computer. What an awesome story. This is Chucky and Maria’s story that spans over a 20 year time line. I just wish the story was a little longer, maybe an epilogue showing them blending their families. It says it’s based on a true story, I wonder is this your story Marissa?? I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I love this author!!!
Maria and Chucky have history. Maria fell in love but Chucky seemed to be only interested in her body. Completely broken and hurt she leaves town to go and do her degree. Life moves on and 20 years later, now divorced, she returns with her two kids. She has never forgotten the man, Chucky, that she fell so totally in love with but she has accepted that you can’t force people to love you back.
This book HAD sooooo freaking much potential!!! But no no no no. Sighs I’m just so damned disappointed. I paid for both books and now I’m not looking forward to the next one if it’s like this. HAD SO FREAKING MUCH POTENTIAL!!!!
This book was just ok. It was very short and not much of a plot. No drama, action or suspense. Thankfully I have read many other books by this author and those have all been great.
Even though I rarely read MC books, I thoroughly enjoy them! People put pride above their emotions and being able to express how they really feel. That is what stopped the two of them together for over 20 years. I'm glad they found a way to end up together.
Though I really enjoyed the premise of this story, it wasn’t as developed as I would have liked. There was no time for character development or conflict.
More a early outline than a novella, the bones of a great story are here. Unfortunately, it didn’t get a chance to reach it’s potential.
