Book two of Within The FogAn ancient evil arrived in a bank of fog and decimated the town of Wray, Colorado. The fog covered thesmall town including the home of Tom Benton and his family. While the fog continues to squeeze down on the Benton family home, Tom knows there will only be a narrow chance at saving his son. The story immediately takes on where the first volume ended and that's great. Will Tom and Sin finally defeat Croatoan? What about Tom's son Bobby? Can he be transferred into a human again? This time the author presents the parallel story of a mysterious Inuit disappearance in 1930 in Canada. Hair raising, intriguing and quite creepy. Absolute camp fire stuff. You'll absolutely enjoy this modern vampire story featuring a very old evil. Highly recommended!
Picking up where Within the Fog stops, this book brings us even more information and horror in the form of the lethal Croatoan. It’s a fantastic and fast-paced sequel that will leave you wanting more.
It's back. This book is a seamless continuation of the first volume; Into The Fog. Croatoan is back; bigger and viler than ever. I like the way the book travels from the past to the present and the suggestion that Croatoan has been around pretty much since the beginning of time. Tom and his friend Sin show a lot of courage in the face of this almost impossible to defeat monster. This book is great for fans of horror and vampires with a difference. The descriptions are quite gory. I look forward to reading volume 3 and finding out what happened next to the surviving characters.
This book follows Within The Fog. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book which is brimming with evil and dripping blood. It tells two stories as it cleverly switches between Nunavut, Canada in 1930 and Wray, Colorado in 2019 where the ancient Croatoan strips humanity. Uncharacteristically, Croatoan has left two witnesses so will be returning....... I received an ARC and now leave my honest review.
Charles Welch is a captivating author. I literally read this book in one setting, it was exciting and I had to find out what happened next. Croatoan is a wicked character that is as old as time. I loved the split of two times in Croatoan’s life-as the raging dead. This book is a cliff hanger and I can not wait to find out what happens next to Tom and Sin and the tribal people. I’m hooked on this fantastic vampire continuation. Congrats Dr. Welch on another superb book!
Tom and Sin are the only living citizens of the little town of Wrey, Colorado. They're stuck in Tom's house and can't leave because of the menacing fog and the unnatural thing inhabiting it.
This is the second book in, at the moment, a trilogy. Recommend reading the first one first. Enjoyed the story very much. This series reminds me of 30 Days of Night!
I’m so enjoying this tale of cannibal monsters that blend modern times with a historical event of a missing village. We all have heard of Roanoke but it has happen in other places as well. Now my mind will not be satisfied until I read more about other missing cities, etc. 4.5⭐️ read. I’m immediately heading to book 3.
I couldn't put either book down, read both in one day....can't wait for the 3rd. Have always been fascinated with the tale behind this story...love this version on it!
Oh man, I love this fascinating series. I immediately downloaded this second book just after completing the first. I love how the background figures into the present time. Excuse me, I have an excellent book to download and get started!
A really good second part to this well written fantasy vampire horror series! Good character development & story ideas! As always with Charles Welch a really good read! I did enjoy this!
Another great book in the series and I can’t wait to read the third, it arrives tomorrow! Very interesting and entertaining, spooky, nothing complex. Just an all around great read.
This is the 2nd book in the series. I enjoyed it as much as the first. I love the take it has on "Croatoan" and "vampires." It's a quick read. Definitely recommend.
