In 1989 Patrolmen Vincent Casale was transferred to his dream assignment, The NYPD Movie-TV Unit. The elite unit employed a limited number of police officers whose responsibility was to assist the motion picture industry while they rolled cameras on the streets of New York City. Officer Casale found himself smack in the middle of New York film-making. Lights! Camera! Action! Movie Stars! As a lifelong film fanatic he was over the moon! But were the stars in his eyes too bright?
Vincent Casale was born in East Harlem, NY. He was raised in Queens, NY where he graduated from Hillcrest HS. In 1984 Casale became a member of the New York City Police Department. From 1989-1992 he was assigned to the department's Movie Unit, a detail where the police were to protect and assist the motion picture industry while they filmed on the streets of NY. His time in the unit, three years, is the basis for his first book, a memoir, The Coparazzi.
The stories we normally hear about police officers aren't as light-hearted as this! While I'm sure he has a plethora of other stories to tell that aren't as light-hearted as this, it's nice to read something so easily engaging! If you have a celeb lover or a cop in the family ( or wife or parents of cops, this will set them a little at ease!) GET THIS FOR THEM! Definitely on my list for christmas...
