Veluriyam Capital is the crowning jewel of the human race, the cradle of civilization and cultivation. Fleeing pursuit from enemies, Jiang Chen is brought to the city of lights and emperors by someone he once saved in turn. Here he finds old friends, love in the air, and an astonishing ugliness behind the glossy facade of peak humanity. Undercurrents of politics and schemes flow swiftly in the capital, ones that will sweep him away if he so much as puts a toe out of place. Jiang Chen slowly finds his footing and carves out a place for himself in this magnificent metropolis. Today’s enemies are tomorrow’s friends, and his head constantly spins from all the factions and statecraft at play. Who should he ally with? What is the correct step to take given his future goals? More importantly, how does he ally with someone so far removed, so lofty that it is as if they are the son of the Celestial Emperor instead?
First 2 books where ok, but then it’s all on repeat with quality dropping. Angry clan.. kill a few.. get accepted… kill other clan… go to special realm get stuff… I don’t care much anymore
Another thing that is so annoying is how it describes thing several times over and repeat earlier events all the times. It’s just filler and makes it boring.
I've binge read from book one straight through to book 6 and I can honestly say this is one of the best books in this genre. Its got a fresh take on cultivation and the OP reincarnation. I wish there was more I truly enjoyed reading this.
Another excellent book in the series with a lot happening and the MC moving up to bigger stages. Glad to see a little romance introduced as it rounds our the character a bit. Hope there's another book in the works.
A definite must read. Since I picked up book one I've not been able to stop reading this series. My only disappointment it's that i have to wait on the next book.
