Overcoming Obstacles
Following a stint in Saudi where he protected twin princesses, Alek Grambler becomes CPO of Lynn Rue, wife of recording mogul Donovan Rue. While committed to his job, Alek’s main goal in returning to the states is to find Heather Quinn.
Caring, tender-hearted Heather, a recent college graduate, is manipulated by her controlling father. During their weekly meetings, she heard Alek’s account of his fractured life: how his temper ruined his hockey career, his cruelty pushed away the mother of his child, his grief over the deaths of his son and mother after just after winning the child’s custody, and the brutalities he faced as a Marine. Alek quickly gains the trust and support of all the Rue Family by saving Dara Rue from an attack and creating a strong bond with Lynn who hires a private investigator to find Heather.
Once that hurdle is conquered life should be good, right? Or will something else postpone their happily ever after?

Heather’s barely enduring an overbearing father who controls her and forces her yearly return to a country she does not wish to live in with the expectation that now that she’s got a college degree, she will stay there.
Will he find his happiness or will he be lost forever?

After going through security training, he works as a CPO in Saudi Arabia where he meets Heather Quinn, a recent college grad who is controlled by her father, They fall in love on a secret trip to Spain, but Heather's father hides her and Alek takes a job as CPO for Lynn Rue, the star of Book 1 of Tales of Resilience. There are still challenges for Alek and Heather while they jump many more hoops, but ultimately they get their HEA when they overcome all obstacles.

This is Alek and Heather’s story. Alek is working as security for two Saudi Princesses, and Heather is under the control of her father, who forces her to return home every year even though she does not want that life. When Alek and Heather meet, they see each other in secret, until her father finds them and forces her to go with him, while threatening Alek to stay away. Will these two have a chance to be together finally? This is a good story which is intriguing, and with suspense danger, twists, and love. The only downside for me and this is only in my opinion, is that I struggled to engage with the characters. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
