This book really includes everything. If you want space battles, there's space battles. If you want combat with insane clones, there's clones. If you want political intrigue, well you get the idea.
If you've already read the other books in sequence you will find this book takes a big step forward in the plot. There's also quite an interesting reveal that made me laugh. When I went back to the other books I saw how the author set it up but for me I missed it. You'll find the big reveal where Hetty says "It was awesome, and gross." How much better of a quote can you imagine from Hetty?
I also found that a lot of the motivations of the characters were finally fleshed out better. With introducing characters the reader can frequently get a first impression of why they are doing something but with more exposure you start to see the nuance and some of the characters gain more depth and understanding. I really liked it.
So for now I enjoyed getting more plot, some riddles answered, and more character depth and am looking forward to the next book.
Lots of different story lines coming together in this latest Jane Poole adventure. And the reader learn things not known so far and is in for a few surprises. I'll love to read the final in this epic universe.
