Luca Sabatini saved me and an entire truck full of women on our way to be sold into sex trafficking—but who will save me from him?

He tells me I belong to him, that a Sabatini keeps what is his. I shouldn’t want to belong to anyone, yet a longing I don’t understand thrums through me—an attraction I cannot deny. Except it’s not safe for me, or him. I climbed into the back of the truck of my own free will because I’m running from a fate far worse.

For the first time in my life I feel safe with Luca. He promises no one will ever hurt me again. He will protect me from what I’m running from; he’ll kill anyone who is a threat to me. I want to believe him—he’s run Vegas for the Outfit for almost as long as I’ve been alive. Only the man I’m running from has an entire army behind him. If I thought Luca could go up against him and survive, I would stay, but others have tried and paid with not just their lives but the lives of their families. I could never live with myself if Luca and the Sabatini family ended up dead because of me.

When I’m found the reckoning is one of bullets and blood, just as I feared. Only one question remains: Once the smoke clears, who will be left standing?

This is the third book in the Sabatini Family series however it can be read as a standalone and does not end in a cliffhanger.
This a dark mafia romance with elements that may be disturbing and include triggers.

Due to commitment issues I have lived in many different cities and my favorite is Chicago but I have managed to settle into Austin and perhaps my commitment issues are behind me.
I have enjoyed reading from a very young age and it wasn't long before the children books bored me and I read the books my mother enjoyed Stephen King and Dean Koontz and I didn't sleep without the light on until I was about ten.
I came across my first Harlequin by accident and it was love at first read, no one died and happy endings? It was a whole new world and I loved it.
I wrote my first story at eight and everyone died, of course. Since then I would like to think I've gotten better and now I'm writing the happily ever afters I first fell in love with, with some hot sex thrown in along the way.
As a plus size woman myself, I have started writing the stories I always wanted to see myself in but never did. And now I'm ecstatic to give BBWs the happily ever afters with hot Alphas they so rarely get.

3.75 stars-- HIS: LUCA is the third instalment in Fiona Murphy’s contemporary, adult THE SABATINI FAMILY erotic, dark, Mafia, romance series- a spin off from the author’s Dirty Billionaires series. This is thirty-six year old, Luca Toro Sabatini, and twenty-four year old, Isabella ‘Bella/Isa’ Reyes’s story line. HIS: LUCA can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Luca and Bella) HIS: LUCA follows the building romance and relationship between thirty-six year old, Luca Toro Sabatini, and twenty-four year old, Isabella ‘Bella/Isa’ Reyes. Isa, as she was called, has been ‘given’ not once but twice to two older men in an effort to appease her father’s friendships with the Mexican cartel but tired of the abuse, one of Isa’s brother arranged for our heroine to be ‘shipped’ off with a truck filled with women destined for sexual slavery, only to be rescued by Luca Sabatini. Luca’s attraction to Isa aka Bella is immediate, and claims Bella as his own. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Bella and Luca, and the potential fall-out as Bella’s past demands retribution targeting Luca in the process.

Luca Sabatini is the illegitimate son of former Chicago hitman Tony Sabatini but with the death of his step-father, Luca took over the control of Las Vegas, Nevada. Working to rescue kidnapped women from sexual slavery, Luca ensures the women he saves, have a place to stay but discovering Isa aka Bella Reyes stirred something deep within our story line hero, and Luca immediately claimed Bella as his own. Bella knew she would always have to be on the run, fearing not only her father but the Mexican Cartel. Never expecting to fall for Luca Sabatini, Bella struggled to remain with the Sabatini family believing her presence placed a target on the people with whom she was falling in love

The relationship between Luca and Bella is one of immediate attraction. For Luca, it was a case of insta-love, for Bella, her attraction and love grew within a matter of hours and days. Luca knew Bella would one-day be his wife but Bella struggled with a past that refused to let go. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word in my ‘romance’ story lines.

All of the previous story line couples, including those from the author’s Dirty Billionaire Series play secondary and supporting characters. We are witness to the growing and expanding families, as well as a look to the future, also revealed in a previous story line. Tony Sabatini plays a larger role in Luca’s story line.

HIS: LUCA is a story of family and relationships, power and control, betrayal and vengeance, love and happily ever after. The premise is entertaining ; the characters are animated and captivating; the romance is seductive and intense.

2.5/5. This book moved WAY too fast. Maybe because I haven’t read many mafia books but some of it just felt weird and toxic. Also- not thank you to wanting a baby immediately. Ew.

This is book three in The Sabatini Family Series and it is Luca and Isabella's story and omg it is a must read. Isa (Bella) has had a difficult life as her father is not only evil but a cruel man who married her off at a young age to a older man for his.own gain but now her husband has died and Isa (Bella) thought that she would be able to live her own life after all the abuse she had to go through only to be told by her father that she would marry someone else again but she decided that it wouldn't happen again so she escaped in a lorry full of women who were being sold for trafficking but she was saved by Luca but what would it cost them all when her father finds out. At thirty six Luca has just found out who his father is and he couldn't be happier as his father is a great man and Luca has also gained an amazing family as well. Luca is the head of the mafia family in Vegas but when he gets a tip off that a truck full of women are coming through Vegas for trafficking he goes to stop it and that is when he see Bella and he knows that nothing in his life will ever be the same again. Bella can't believe her reaction to Luca especially after all the abuse that she has suffered but nothing can happen as she knows that her cathedral kill them all to get her back under his control. As Luca and Bella spend more time together the chemistry between them gets stronger but there is still danger out there but how will it all end. I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down as it was so addictive. This is the first book that I have read by Fiona Murphy but definitely not the last as it was so well written and definitely worth reading. I look forward to reading more of Fiona's books in the future.

Universal

When Luca saves Bella and claims her, will she be able to resist his dark allure? Though he saved her from a horrible fate, life with him might be just as dangerous to her, to her heart especially.

Dark Mafia romances aren't usually my kind of read, but I ended up really liking this one. It's not too dark for one, and Bella and Luca's chemistry is beyond hot. She's the perfect match for his dark, demanding ways in the bedroom, loving everything he does to her, everything he brings out in herself. I'm not sure which Sabatini story is next, but after loving this one, I can't wait to read it.

Luca rescued Bella along with a lot more girls being trafficked, and he's decided that she's his. She feels a strong attraction for this man, and the sexy times which end up igniting are insanely hot hot hot! Of course, she's worried about it not being safe for him & his family so there's that whole feeling on the edge of my seat feeling as I wait for her to sacrifice herself for him. Luca is positive he can keep Bella safe, and with him running the Vegas Outfit, there's a very good chance that he will, but again, she doesn't quite believe him fully. Obviously this means the twists are going to come in hot, and violent action will also come into play because his world isn't some sort of easy lifestyle plus the person she's running from, so my heart raced the majority of the book as I waited to see who would be left standing. This book is a dark mafia book, but not as dark as some I've read so if you're brave enough, you want to hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I totally loved this book. Once I started reading I could not put it down. I finally finished it about 3:00am. I was so in love with their story. But the cherry on top was having past characters in this book and catching up with them. Loved the Epilogue too. I wish I could give it more that 5 Stars! Loved it!

Isabella's cartel father married her off to an abusive older man who only wanted her to have his heirs. Isa's mother secretly gave her birth control but the lack of pregnancy made her husband even more violent. Years later, Isa's husband died and she finally believes she's free. That is, until her father finds her again and expresses his desire to marry Isa off all over again.

Isa's older brother intervenes and manages to get her on a truck with a group of women being trafficked. He then tips off the mafia king of Vegas, Luca, who happens to be against trafficking. Luca stops the transport but becomes obsessed with Isa from first sight. He takes her back to his penthouse and convinces her that he can protect her from her father and show her to love and affection she's been missing.

I was really liking this book. I liked the characters quite a bit. Then all of a sudden this whole story became about getting "Bella" pregnant. Oh, by the way, Luca just unilateral decided that Isabella's new name was "Bella" despite her trying to tell people that it's "Isa". I get that Bella is his nickname for her, and it's pretty cute. But to insist that everyone call her that and for people to say "yeah, that suits you better" is so wrong. It's her name. You can't just decide to change it.

Okay, back to the pregnancy thing. "Bella" has had major trauma relating to pregnancy. And it all happened not that long ago. Her ex husband was using her for children and abusing her when he didn't get them. Luca knows this. In fact, in the beginning he was super careful about taking everything slowly and making sure not to trigger her. Then all of sudden he decided he wants kids and Bella isn't allowed to say no. They have sex without a condom and when Bella freaks out and asks for Plan B, Luca says "you're not aborting our baby". WHAT!?!?! Okay, taking Plan B isn't an abortion. But also, it's her body! If she's not ready for a child then he needs to respect that!

The worst part was that randomly Bella decides that Luca is right. One day she's not ready for children and LITERALLY the next day she seems excited about the prospect of being pregnant. I honestly don't think it's healthy.

After awhile, Luca acts more concerned about their unborn baby then he does about Bella. Now that she's pregnant, he's all "we need to protect the baby!" instead of being concerned about his now wife. I literally stopped reading.

This is my second book in the His series. The story started off as most of the books in this and Dirty Billionaire series often do with meeting of the two main characters to set up the rest of the story. The set-up for this one was good and grabbed my attention from the beginning. I had to know how she was going to blend in with the other women, how would she do it and what would she say?

When Isa meets Luca it was obvious they were attracted to each other. The story clearly showed all that. Isa’s situation was explained before that and left the reader no doubt where the climax of the story was headed. However, the conversations between Luca, Dom, Tony and the cousins about their women aggravated me and really didn’t add anything to the story. Additionally, the women’s conversation about their husbands has them blissfully happy and content with some of the shenanigans in their relationships that, again, added nothing to the story.

I also had a hard time with Isa’s dad and brother. The dad was supposed to be a boss and the son unhappy with his leadership so what took him so long to address the situation?

It was an ok read for me as I wanted to catch up with the Sabatini clan, but so far the His series is not as good as Dirty Billionaire’s series, which I recommend to be read first.

This is the first book I've read in the His series, but I did read the entire series featuring the three cousins so I have a solid understanding of this world. That said, I didn't really care for Luca and Isa/Bella's story. I liked them both as characters, but it just fell flat for me in the plot department. I also have noticed and I think I wrote this in my reviews for the other books that this author makes all her female MC's plus size but they all hate their bodies. Don't get me wrong, as a plus size girl myself I know what it is like to not feel comfortable in my body, but I would love this author to change it up and make some plus size characters who are confident with themselves. I also didn't like how the men talked about how their women's bodies changed after birth, it seemed a bit misogynistic to me.

Is it possible to be saved twice in the same action? Well for Isabella she had escaped her fathers alience matching only to be saved again by Luca when he stops a truck full of women. Now he says she belongs to him, butbof only he knew the depths of hell Isabellas father anf the cartel would go to get her back. Knowing she's not safe even woth Luca she doesn't want to bring war to his door but Luca will do anything to keep her safe, she brings him a calmness and feelings he never imagined. Well written great story line can be read standalone but who would want to miss out on this great series! Filled with action, desires suspense, hot scenes and more!

Such a good story. You can’t help but be drawn I to the story. I actually really liked Luca from the beginning. He was all alpha but so soft for Bella even when he was stern and unmoving. He only wanted what was best for her. His dominance and power were a draw and I loved how he knew he needed to control himself skeins her for her benefit until she was more on stable footing. Bella however was annoying at times about the insistent need to keep trying to leave in order ‘to protect Luca’. Like the man runs the city of Las Vegas and has for 20 years. I think k he is quite capable. I hope Mundo gets a book.

wow

Wow, just wow! Luca may be one of the heads of the The mafia, But to Bella he is sweet, kind, Loyal, and loving. He would give up anything for his family. Bella has been through hell and back, but remains loving, caring, and giving. She loves Luca’s family with all her heart. They are a large, close-knit family. The men have a tough job, but are all dedicated to their wives and children. Can’t wait for more. The proofreader on this book needed to do a better job. They were wrong and missing words. Just a little more attention to detail would be great for the reader.

Passionate story of the newest son of the Sabatini clan, Luca, and Bella, who he saves from marriage to a mafia psychopath. Luca always laughed when his father and brother told him that when he found his true mate, he would fall hard and forever. When he saves Bella from another arranged marriage, they discover an instant connection that cannot be denied. This is a steamy, hot story that cannot be put down. Bella has to fight her fears of not being good enough and trust that her man can protect her. Oh, that all men would be Sabatini men. Another winner from Fiona!

As Bella is running for her life from a sick guy that her father wants her to marry; she meets Luca. Her brother trusts him. You see, Luca is a good guy; he lets the women go after he grabs them off of the trucks. She does not. From the minute they meet, they connect. With forces coming together, and Luca wanting to shut down the trade of human trafficking; with Bella’s help will he achieve his diesired wish? And still keep the girl?

ARC Review

Good book.

This is the story of Luca and Isabella. He saves her from being trafficked with other women to slavery and he instantly knows he can’t let her go and she has to stay with him. And that’s how their great story together starts.

This book was good, I liked the relationship between main characters and the storyline development.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Best dark romance book I’ve ever read!!!! Hot, intense, and oh so good!!!! I was beyond impressed with just how well of a job Fiona did with creating both a fictional world and real and oh so relatable subjects. Oh and Luca…sigh… a soft hidden heart… a hero! I absolutely loved it all! I will say beware of triggers. Highly recommended

Was it good? Would I recommend it to someone else? Is it something to write home about? Is it worth a second read? No.
The writing seemed really immature/15 year old Wattpad author. The term “aching cock” was used more times than the average reader of this sort of genre is comfortable with and it was complete total and utter very very very INSTANT love like right away like before he even has her name.

Mafia-style Romance

Isa is afraid of being forced into marriage again. Making her escape, she meets Luca who 'runs' Las Vegas, and he is immediately smitten.
An enjoyable story, where tough, murderous criminals are not only gorgeous, but besotted with their women and adore children. The prologue made me wonder if I would enjoy the book, but once the real story began, I was involved.

Editorial issues

Good story, but plodded a bit until the ending, which was very good. However, the whole thing was spoilt by a tons of what amounts to an editorial mess from missing words, to poor sentencing construction, to poor punctuation. This is the worse I’ve seen from Fiona in terms of editing.
