Rebel Cyborgs #3

Baring Grudge

Rate this book
No one in the universe is more determined than a cyborg warrior tracking his female.
***
Grudge, a C Model cyborg, has been assigned a mission – safeguard a Humanoid Alliance space station for his kind. Honor was once all he had, and he is determined to fulfill his duty.

That resolve is tested when a tiny human female enters the space station and sets the prettiest little explosives the warrior has ever seen. She is Grudge’s genetic match, the one being manufactured for him. He wants to touch her, kiss her, claim her in all ways, but first he has to stop her from blasting him into the next galaxy.

Taelyn has a self-appointed mission—to destroy every battle robot the Humanoid Alliance has ever manufactured. A huge gray-skinned, blue-eyed cyborg warrior with mismatched arms won’t prevent her from achieving her goal. She’ll escape him, leaving destruction in her wake.

Before she departs, she’ll experience one toe-curling moment of hatred-edged passion with her handsome foe. She’ll show him how skilled with detonations she truly is. He will have his universe rocked.

Then she’ll disappear.

Her cyborg, however, has no intention of ever letting her go.

One armed bandits!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💜💖
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😟🤭😤☺️🥰

The Hero: Grudge - he is a cyborg (a ‘C’ Model) and has mismatched arms since he was blown up on a mission for the Humanoid Alliance. After the cyborgs rebelled against the alliance and Cadet started to find and free more cyborgs that were left behind, she found Grudge in a used goods market for an embarrassingly low price. She bought him, put him back together and he was now a warrior for the cyborgs. He loved to blow things up, it was his favorite thing to do.

The Story: when Strain’s female told them that one of the 5 moons over her planet wasn’t actually a moon, but a huge Humanoid Alliance space station. Grudge thought of nothing but blowing up the planet sized station. Cadet said since the station held so many A class warships, they would have to have one cyborg stay behind to guard the station while the rest of them flew some of the warships back to their home planet and got more pilots and returned for the rest of the ships and ammunition. Grudge volunteered to stay behind so he could be the one to blow up the space station once they returned and got all the ships relocated.

The heroine: Taelyn - she is from the peaceful planet of Antares II, and she is on a mission to save the universe from killer robots and the Humanoid Alliance. Her target is a space station disguised as a moon off the planet of Rohini 9. She plans to destroy the station and everything in it, including class A warships, weapons and hundreds of thousands of the killer robots. She is also in charge of a young girl named Jasny who kept sneaking aboard Taelyn’s ship till she finally gave up and let the girl stay.

I liked the fact that Grudge, Taelyn and Jasny all had lost one of their arms due to the actions of the Humanoid Alliance, they all have one mechanical arm. Taelyn had lost hers when a warrior for the Humanoid Alliance cut it off because she touched one of their robots. That is one of the reasons she hates the Alliance and their robots.

The characters were great in this one, there were some of the same cyborgs as in the previous book, and I liked Jasny and how much Taelyn loved the little girl. Taelyn was a great character as she stole from the space stations before blowing them up and sold the items for credits that used for a good reason. The story was great, and Grudge was as funny in this book as in the previous one.

This was a fantastic story. C series cyborgs are my favorite series, so I'm always happy to read another book where one of these guys find his one mate, and they live happily ever after.

I really like the group that Grudge is in, and how they are doing everything they can to help all cyborgs everywhere. I really like Cadet and her mission.

I really like Grudge. I think that he went through some really hard times, and he was able to maintain some joy. Taelyn has learned a way to deal with her past. I like her way.

I liked how Grudge, Taelyn and Jasny ended up being such a cute little family — a family that blows things up together stays together!

This was an enjoyable read but I was expecting something a bit *more* after Containing Malice and The Cyborg’s Secret Baby. I guess I prefer my cyborg romances extremely angsty and ugly cry inducing. This book had some angsty pangs but mostly stayed pretty light.

4&1\2fabulous 🌟s for Baring Grudge!

Taelyn is a human female who has been totally devastated but the Humanoid alliance. They took her arm as a child and then destroy her while planet and everyone she ever loved. She has made it her life's mission to destroy them anyway she can! While trying to blow up an alliance space station she meets Grudge. Grudge knows that Taelyn is his fated female and even though she's enhanced she's still a fragile hunan. Grudge battles his own reasons he was left without a leg and an and for a very long time so long they could not be replace with any organic material. He has two purely mechanical limbs. He thinks it makes him a lesser male. Taelyn fights her attraction and love for Grudge because she doesn't want to lose someone she loves ever again. She also has a young child left without home or family just like she was that she is trying to protect. From the minute these two meet sparks fly the chemistry is off the charts and the banter is so much fun. You will laugh at their conversations , feel every underlying emotion they are conveying. Watch their relationship evolves and how they both protect the youngling is beautiful. One might ute they are 3 individuals fighting themselves and their fears and the next minute they are a family that would do anything to protect each other. This is a fantastic addition to this series it and end laugh, with with longing and wish I had a cyborg of my very own to love! Highly recommend its an excellent read you won't be disappointed!🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥

Grudge is my man!

He’s love personified. When he finds his female he can do nothing but love her. She was made fir him but does she think he was made for her. She’s been hurt by losing her whole family and punished by the Humanoid Alliance at an early age. She’s on a mission to blow up every ship she can of theirs. She’s fierce, protective and has an hard outer shell that hides her soft inner shell. No more spoilers for you!

I love how this author incorporates the many races of humans into her heroines and none are irrelevant to her, we are all a part of her universe. Thanks for showing representation of all colors. I see myself in her and want to be her. 💕

I love these cyborgs!
Two damaged beings. Patched together with mechanical parts. Grudge and Taelyn are a perfect match, in my opinion. They have similar motivations. The Humanoid Alliance and their battle robots don’t stand a chance with these two! Read their fascinating story and enjoy every exciting step of their romance!

One of the best

This is one of the best so far. Why cyborgs consider themselves damaged because their metal arms or legs aren't covered in skin, I don't know as they look like limbs anyway. Grudge and Taelyn are awesome together. And with little Jasny they make the perfect new family! It's Taelyn and Jasny who show Grudge that mechanical limbs are more than acceptable, especially when they have arms just like his crafted. Definitely one of my favorites and a must read!

One of my favorites

I’m pretty sure this was one of my favorites of the Rebel Cyborgs series . I loved the humor and emotional connections. The main characters were damaged but strong and perfect for each other. It was a great ride! Loved it!

The heroine has an adopted teenage daughter who is VERY ANNOYING.

If you read the book blurb, it does not tell the reader the heroine has a daughter. I feel like they deliberately left that detail out.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SOILER SPOILER

Also misleading is they call it a predator prey chase across the galaxy in the book blurb. There is no chasing.

He meets her, she gives him oral sex to convince him to let her go so she can get her teenage daughter to safety. He puts 3 trackers in her ship, hacks her personal communication device, and hacks her ship. He also insists she wear a tracker in her shirt pocket so he knows where she is at all times. As part of his deal to let her go.

So there is not a chase. He knew where she was at all times. She didn't even know he was chasing her yet because she said give her 40 days and he never actually agreed to that, she just thought he did.

I liked the romance between the hero and heroine but the teenage daughter ruined this book for me.

She was convinced the heroine would leave her behind. She basically kept following heroine around and sneaking onto her ship every time she left the planet because she also had an amputated arm. Heroine and teenager both have missing arms replaced with prosthetic arms.

Heroine would go to the local bar and teenager was too young to get in so she'd just sit outside the bar for hours until heroine came back out. Heroine would tell her stay in the ship and don't touch anything because this is a mission and nobody can know we're here. So teenager screws up and turns on alarms.

Teenager would also say things like Don't leave me and I can come with you, etc. SO ANNOYING.

Of course, cyborg, heroine and teenager all are a family by the end of the book.

I feel like they are hiding from readers heroine has a daughter because many readers don't want to read a romance with kids in it. Book blurb should have said she had a daughter.

I recommend the earlier Rebel Cyborg books and her separate Cyborg series.

It's Grudge's turn to find his special someone and Taelyn doesn't make it easy for him. Well, she kind of makes it easy for him, but she's also makes him work for it. So, you know, there's that.

Anywho. Grudge and Taelyn. He's a rough and ready C Model who's pretty much given up on ever finding his match. She's a heart-weary human who's suffered at the hands of the Humanoid Alliance and isn't about to let them take any more lives or tear any more families apart. She's also not willing to admit IN THE SLIGHTEST that she has a soft spot for anyone. Not for the youngling tagging along on her missions or for the cyborg who claims they're meant to be together. She's lost too many people to trust they're not going to be taken from her the moment she starts caring.

In other words, Grudge has his work cut out for him convincing Taelyn he's in it for the long haul. To be fair, though, cyborgs are made to fight so battling for Taelyn's trust and heart is something he's more than happy to do.

I dig these cyborgs and their protective, possessiveness toward their special someone (and those their special someone considers family). *thumbs up*

I liked all the characters and the story in this book but I was bored. It really didn’t hold my attention. I don’t like over confident brash personalities and this book was loaded with that behavior from both main characters. The s e x was boring and in one scene blatantly stupid. I definitely want more of the subplot of this series over arching story line but I could have done without this book. Or maybe if this book had been a novella.

Something has been lacking from this author for a while now. There isn’t a lot of emotional depth in her characters anymore. It’s too easy for them to get together. The rawness of her earlier stories is also not present in these subsequent books. Maybe the best way to describe these books is shallow. Idk.

All I can say is while I liked everything that happened in this book, I really, really didn’t like this book because it dragged. Honestly I wish I could clarify why I didn’t like it better but I can’t. It wasn’t bad. I just didn’t like it. Good luck.

No Grudge

As always Cynthia has penned another great cyborg love story. I loved theses two, a cyborg who has found his mate and his devotion to her shows his true affection. He gets two for one in a young green skin child his mate has has adopted into her life. All three Grudge, his mate and their offspring have artificial parts. Twelve learns that she must trust as well as love her mate and the child that has come into her life.
Can't for the next adventure with our cyborgs and their mates and family.

The Humanoid Alliance not only took Taelyn’s arm, but also stole her trust when they obliterated her planet and everyone she loved. As for Grudge, he’s also lost limbs to the Alliance. Both are wounded beings out to destroy what almost destroyed them.

I enjoyed the backstories of the hero and heroine. Taelyn is angry and intent on revenge. Grudge also wants his revenge. Neither is aware what the other is up to, though.

Thinking of Skipping bc of yet another THF.
do sci-fi romance authors have no creativity left for a more dynamic description ? Or even a change in physical and personality trates of their characters?

Ok so I didn’t skip it. I’m halfway between happy I didn’t and damn I should have skipped it. The couple annoyed me but the dynamics of the little family really made the book for me. Jansly is just so cute. The adoptive daughter is maybe 10-12 ? Not sure , but the poor child broke my heart.
