Lee

It was my fault. I was too young and dumb to realize good men didn't come around every day. At twenty-one, I gave King away thinking we needed to mature, sow our wild oats, find our passion, and all the other silly mess that I currently regret.

He married someone else, but if she ever messed up, I was going to be there because he was still the man that was everything I ever wanted but didn't know I needed. One day, I hoped King would be mine again.

Two years, I was still broken up about it. But, two years was all it took for her to do the unforgivable. That was all I needed. I was going to make him mine again.

😞

I gave this book 1 star because I continued reading, so the star is for my effort. I could never understand the use of the N word even though it’s spelt incorrectly. That was my first turn off. I thought King was selfish, and in spite of not knowing if his wife’s baby was his, promptly didn’t care about getting another pregnant. I cannot believe women can be so foolish to put up, accept and support the nonsense that took place in this story. I found myself checking to be sure that this was the correct author. I’ve read your work before and was shocked that this was you. I get everyone’s opinion is different but I couldn’t relate to this story.

Great Series to fall in love with

I loved this, and that is so true that the person that messes up don’t know the stupid thing they done till it’s gone. My ex is still trying to get me back I divorced him in 2015, I don’t want to go back. Mines didn’t cheat on me, I really don’t know what’s worse, cheating on your spouse or abuse. It was mental & verbal once our children were grown and started leaving the house. I realize I was scared to be left alone with him. It got even crazier the year before the divorce.
But this was good, King going back to his true love Lee. And Lee finally trusting herself and not letting others make the decision about her relationship. It was hot and steaming as well, I headed to the next one. A great read 👍

My my my what a trip this book is. This is my first read from this author and I can say that I enjoy this second chance lover story. This story wasn’t free of drama at all! King and Lee were high school sweethearts who loved each other and though they were going to be each other’s forever. Some influence from her parents led to Lee breaking up with King and breaking both of their hearts in the process. Let’s just say you don’t miss the water until the well runs dry. Lee regrets her decision to leave King and she’s been beating herself up about it for years. She literally never got over King and constantly looked for him in other men. King moved on, got married but everything that glitters ain’t gold. Whew child that’s where the drama came in. King married a trifling woman and his friends aren’t loyal at all. This story is a prime example of how it’s not the best decision to allow family so much influence over your relationship and how it pays to be honest with yourself. If we keeping it 100 King and Lee both was foul in their own way. King for marrying a woman he know he didn’t love and Lee for allowing others to rule her life. They were both wasting others time because they definitely still loved each other. I loved how the author wrote this story but I felt the drama overshadowed King and Lee’s reconciliation. Their whole courtship was filled with talking about Shay, the baby and Tariq. We never got to seem them as a couple outside of the drama. I will say that this is an entertaining story from beginning to end. King and Lee definitely ease smoothly back into situationship . It was obvious they still cared for each other. I will definitely read more from this author and I hope to read stories about Nina and Imani

Nice second chance love story. Lee and King had a love story for the ages, but took the scenic route to find their happily ever after. In the meantime, King dealt with hella drama from Shay! She was a whole mess! Lee and King reuniting was destined. A love like theirs could not be denied. I would have liked to have seen some interaction with Lee's parents, to see if they had any remorse for their part in the breakup. NOW! That quick intro Nina's story, has gotten me hooked already! Hope the wait isn't too long for this. It looks like it is going to lit! 👍👍👍

King and Lee have a unbreakable connection, blazing fire, but thats about it. I guess I wanted to know more about their back story or their interactions when they got together. Because for me it seemed more sexual than anything else. I was glad how everything wrapped up. There were a few grammatical errors here and there, but I felt like it was nothing too glowing glaring. This is the second book I've read from this author and it's looking like it won't be the last. :)

LOVED,LOVED ❤

I absolutely loved and enjoyed reading King and Lee's story, this was a good read loved the characters. Boy that ex-wife was a piece of work. I read the second book first not knowing there was a first book I just happened upon the second one first, and that one was just as good as this one. I would absolutely recommend reading this book. Great job again Renee. I was wondering if there is going to be a story for I'd like to know what her story is? Just saying. Thank you 👍🙏

finally, a real romance story

This is how I like my romance story. This story is amazing with some humor. It have a storyline, substance, good sex scene but not overbearing. It’s totally different than those other romance book whereas we got to deal with an immature, naive, crying, weak women. I finally were able to read to end without skipping pages or just stop reading altogether. I love the characters, even Shay. King and Lee are incredible and their love story is the bomb. I can’t wait to start Book 2. I highly recommend this book.

3.5 🌟

It was okay. I think what really turned me off was like the repeating over and over again of how they felt about each other or how he felt about his soon to be ex wife. I feel like it was more of a filler to prolong the book. Now the story was good. I like the whole drama behind the situation and to be honest I was rooting for the outcome. It was just the repeating of her feelings his feelings was too much.

Different

Lee left King because of stupidity not immaturity. Then he married Shay who couldn't keep her panties on and laid with his friend. That hurt me because I know how he must have felt. King and Lee never stopped loving each other. I was so glad they got back together. Shay messed up a good thing. I love King. He says what he means and mean what he says. This was different. I liked it.

enjoyable

It was a light quick read. The one thing I will say is aside from a few details every 30 pages, I never got a full picture of how the MCs looked. Like not even a half picture. I know she’s black and is maybe curvy with curly hair but I found that out in the middle of the book.

Still I appreciated the somewhat fresh of the story. I liked King’s POV a lot and didn’t mind Lee’s at times

This was a cute story.
Lee messed up by listening to outside forces and breaks up with her first love.
King is broken up when Lee leaves him for no reason other than they were young and therefore too young to be serious about each other. Eventually, after some hiccups, they find their way back to each other and all is well again.
I really enjoyed how Willimas writes as the vernacular is accurate to how the culture speaks 👍🏾love it sis and will be reading more of your books.

Reunites and it feels so good

I really enjoyed this story. I love the fact that Lee and King loved each other despite years of separation. I really wish that we could have had Lee’s parent reaction to them finding each other again. They played such a huge part in their break up. I’m glad this couple got their HEA.

Yay for second chances!

This is my first read for this author, and she showed out!! We all have that one love in our lives that got away, and probably spent some time wondering what if. This book gives you all the warm feels along with just the right amount of drama. Ma’am, you had me on the edge of my seat waiting on the lab results.

Great job!

King and Lee had a love story which was special, pure and epic. This is true love and
I loved how the story was written.

King was sexy as sin, it was so lovely to read a AA story without the typical stereotypes.

It don’t matter if DNA test says otherwise, the husband is always the father responsible for care. Or so I thought.

“She made her bed, and now, we all had to sleep in it. That included Lee” I’m sorry, exactly why does this include Lee. I beg to differ.

Maybe Shay cheated bc she realized King didn’t love her. Not saying she’s justified in that but

“ wasn’t trying to hurt Shay. I still had love for her. “ -King. My question is how?

“Just damn disrespectful,” another woman mumbled who was sitting in another section of the waiting room.” Shay’s people are out their mind she is. They re mad that King brought someone but that broad currently had two men who could be father pending dna testing. Dafuq

If king was a jr how was his son Kj

I really loved King and Lee’s love for each other. They got over some hurdles and even though it took time they were able to get their love back.

I’m assuming book 3 is about Imani and I can’t wait for it to drop

Good

Good storyline. Some women are really like Shay, gold digging skank. How do you not know who your baby’s father is? Could stand her from jump. I will read something else by this author.

King and Lee

First love is hard to get over and it can shake you to your core. It can make you second guess everyone and everything that you follows.

To get a second chance to correct your mistakes is a blessing that you must cherish and protect.
