Can you fall in love all over again with a woman who shattered your heart?
Ten years ago, Quinn Smyth’s heart was broken. The love of her life had inexplicably cut her off and left town for good.
Although it took her a while to get over Dallas, Quinn has finally moved on.
Now Dallas is simply a distant memory, a silly childhood crush, a person she never wishes to see again. Until she does.
A decade ago, Dallas Tenison was young and stupid. She made the biggest mistake of her life: she lied to the girl she loved most and left her behind.
Her own heart shattered that day. Since then, Dallas lives with the jarring knowledge of the mistake she never had a chance to apologize for.
When a surprise clause in a will left by Quinn’s grandfather thrusts Dallas back into Quinn’s world, will she have the courage to finally confront her own mistakes?
Will she find the right words to apologize to her first love, who now hates her guts?
And will Quinn be able to resist the growing fire for her past love which was never put out in the first place?
Will these two gorgeous women give first love a second chance?

The characters read quite young to me. I k ow that they’re 28 y/o. It is not favorite age group to read. It read as though their separation didn’t have to happen the way that it did. I understand being young like Dallas was when she broke it off with Quinn when they were in highschool felt quite thin. And the reason she stayed away the whole time didn’t hold enough weight for two people that spent so much time together as friends and then first everything.
I did understand the anger behind Quinn and how hurt her and her family was by the actions of Dallas since they were more like family. Their story was just a bit blasé. I had a small amount of vested interest in them. Perhaps it was all the circumstances around them. I felt the opening to meeting Quinn with her brother and sister was very juvenile. I didn’t bond with any of them. I didn’t care for the Flea Market excursion, another effort to show what? The author didn’t even really show how their first solo date was supposed to be more marked than other times.
The way they found themselves intimate for the first time was just bad timing and didn’t fit where they were. Their whole reunion was quite dull and lackluster. And the fact that Quinn would give that “money” away to charity was plain silly. For someone that didn’t have a lot of money or savings that also have relied on the help of her parents made no sense to me. Her reasons for the donation made even less sense considering her own financial situation. This whole story screamed young. It is the reason why I stay away from stories like this.
The book “Love Off Limits” shows that a 23 y/o was mature. Deep meaningful relationships and conversations shared can be done well. Neera was wise beyond her years. I could understand her and Scarlet’s relationship much better and it was an age gap romance.
Who knew a will could bring them together...in the same room...twice. Quinn and Dallas were best friends growing up, then became more in their teens. Dallas’s conservative parents moved her to Tampa, away from Topeka where they grew up. They moved to separate Dallas and Quinn. Ten years later Dallas gets a call from an attorney in Topeka telling her she inherited money from Quinn’s grandfather who recently passed away. Dallas must go in person to collect her inheritance. She gets on a plane and goes to meet with the attorney. She finds out Quinn must be there to also sign the documents for Dallas’s inheritance. A bit of matchmaking? A second chance? This is definitely a couple you will find yourself rooting for. Love, separation, angst, will they or won’t they? (And steamy too!) I definitely recommend this book. I think this may be my favorite book by Alexa Woods.
In this second chance romance, Dallas receives a call informing her that she's inherited $25,000 from the deceased grandfather of her former gf, the one she left 10 years ago without looking back. When the two meet up again, the former gf, Quinn, is angry and resentful. But true love has a way of making itself known, though how can the two move forward when they live in separate cities, are close with their families and have whole lives separate from one another?
Though second chance is about my favorite trope, I found the writing here lacking. In some places, there was too much detail and in others not enough. We get to know Quinn much better than we do Dallas.
Not the worst ever, but not very good. They literally sleep together after seeing each other twice, like 10 years of hurt and not being able to move on could in any way be healthy. No work is put from either of them to fix anything, it's just fixed from one minute to the next. And then another issue arises and that's also dealt in 2.3 seconds. We don't even really get any characterization for either of them, so of course they don't "fall in love all over again". And their family are supportive of this definitely-very-healthy relationship.
Growing up as best friends and then became girlfriends. They where happy and then the worst happened Dallas parents moved and took her away from Quinn. It broke her heart but what could she do as a young seventeen year. Quinn and her family was not happy but wanted answers. Can Quinn's grandpa crazy request bring them back together? If so how can they work it out living states apart
I really enjoyed this story. Both Dallas and Quinn are caring, sensitive women who fell in love when they were kids but were separated for a long time. I liked the authors way of bringing the story together. It felt real. Well done!
I read this a long time ago but never finished it and made a point to do so. Definitely worth the wait and for all those hopeless romances who have loved and lost, don't give up because the second time is often better!
Alexa Woods writes good, page turner with characters that you actually can care about with plot twists and grand gestures to keep interest to the very end. Big fan of the epilogue.
Not much to say about this one, it wasn't the greatest but it could have been a lot worse. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I thought I would. They broke up for a stupid reason and they got back together too quick. Everything felt kind out of place. I'm not surprised this book has less than 4 stars in here.
