She’s an artist and he is the last person she expected to be her muse.
She’s an artist and he is the last person she expected to be her muse.
Hinklee Featherstone’s dream is to run her own art gallery, but never thought the ambition would take her back home to Graeagle, California. She can’t believe her luck when a financial backer offers to help her build a gallery in the small town.
Cooper Wayne is the oldest son of the famous movie director, Morgan Wayne. The land, the cattle, and the sun for a time clock are all he’ll ever need to have a happy life. Stopping to help a woman change a tire steers him onto Memory Lane. Hinklee was always around when they were little, but she didn’t have those curves—or the attitude.
Hinklee swears to stay away from Cooper, but she’s tossed in his path at every turn. Could there be more to the cowboy than a big hat and work-worn hands? These two fight their attraction with the firm determination of truly stubborn people raised on the land.
However, they have more in common than they realize, and their fates are entwined.
Read this lovely contemporary western romance today.
I borrowed Cooper (The Lone Horse Ranch Clean Romance Series ~ Book 1) from the Kindle Lending Program.
A couple of mismatched people that just worked out great in Cooper when Hinklee Featherstone, artist last from New York City returns to her childhood home on the Lone Horse Ranch to live with her aunt and start an art gallery. The small town nearby seems too small and isolated to support an gallery, but with a financial backer, tourist season, her contacts in the art world and Internet sales she sees great potential for success.
Lots of hurtles along the way, restoring a building nearly falling down, interference from the financial backer, Cooper's negative remarks, problems on the ranch and the final betrayal and solution with Cooper's full backing makes this a nice clean romance between the artist and the cowboy.
This is such a feel-good clean cowboy romance. I just love the Wayne boys! Hinklee Featherstone is coming home to Graegle after pursuing her art career in New York. She never thought to return to a place where she felt inadequate, but she finds herself heading down the dirt road anyway. Cooper Wayne didn’t remember his housekeeper’s niece very well, but certainly did not recognize the beautiful woman staring at a flat tire on his dirt lane. Sparks fly (and not always the positive kind) as the two fight their attraction while trying to pursue their careers. Hinklee is trying to get an art gallery up and running while Cooper is trying to keep the ranch going. They don’t have time for love or romance, and especially for their complicated feelings toward each other. Things become even more complicated as Hinklee discovers more about her investor. It becomes a tangled web in both of their lives…
He had to be to keep the ranch going. Mrs. Corinne was his housekeeper whatever he needed done she did. But she was getting older and he didn’t want her to do as much. Then her granddaughter came back yo live with her to open an Art Gallery in town. Oh my “fur” flew for a while. Enjoy.
This is one well written book and the characters are wonderful. I loved the storyline, a little suspense with some good romance. Can’t wait for book 2. Highly recommend this book
