In this second issue, Cata explores her newfound ability to fly, landing at a plaza in Palma where real-life Xisco and Cata are having a conversation that plunges her further into the depths of despair. When an ever-cheeky Karmen pops in to intervene, she and Cata sit down for a philosophical heart-to-heart.
lots of cool and interesting this happening with the art & composition but im not sure if i like men philosophizing about women’s mental health problems
People are the essence of life. Living is interacting with others, and you own existence only has any meaning when you're a part of other people's lives.
The artwork and colouring of this series is still beautiful, but the story is dragging and I'm getting tired of Karmen making fun or Cata for no real reason.
(Also, I'm not a big fan of the writing? Maybe because it's by a man?).
The art is incredible but the writing is just, yikes. Things are moving at a horrible indulgent pace, and the characterization is just so so so superficial. I really want to like this more, but it’s hitting the wrong notes at the moment.
The art for Karmen is gorgeous! The story is compelling (even if I still am not entirely sure what's going on). More of Cata's backstory is revealed and Karmen reveals nothing. I can't wait to read the next issue.
this issue was such a drag. Even though the art style is beautiful. I don't think I am going to continue for now. it just seems like there is just going to be constant character exposition without any payoff. it just really disappointing really.
I LOVE the colors used in KARMEN. It's very dream-like, ethereal, hopeful. Guillem March really has a thing for showing off exquisite female forms in this series.
