As a summary text in the broad field of marketing, The Marketer's Guide does a good enough job, with a few flaws. As for how to structure a marketing strategy, how and who to target, and what priorities to manage, this text seems to do a very good job, though I am no expert in the field so I cannot say with any authority. I'm sure I learned a few things. But when it comes to the differences in the marketing challenge for large and small businesses, the book falls flat a bit. Sure, opportunities for small businesses are often presented, but the text as a whole is oriented towards businesses that are large enough to have a marketing team of some sort. This is, no doubt, the world the author is most familiar with. But a more glaring flaw comes in the author's treatment of social media. I think this can be best summarized in his own words:

"When you think of Facebook, the first thing that comes to mind is probably teenagers."

Funny, first thing that comes to mind about Facebook, in my case, is geriatrics running around in circles in the dark, learning a bunch of crazy nonsense from fake smiling people based in eastern Europe, but hailing from Arizona. Most of the teens are on SnapChat or TikTok or a private Discord server or something. None of these are even mentioned. This is totally out of date. It really needs a revision to delete specific social media sites, which change like Proteus. More general strategies for every sort of site would be timeless and useful. The frustrating thing is, the final few chapters regarding scaling your campaigns in electronic media do this fairly well, despite slipping back to Facebook a few times, as if by reflex, but it is undermined by the middle's outdated specificity.

It is excellently edited, I didn't see a single typo.

Quite Enlightening!

I thought I had a good idea about marketing regarding books and the likes, but I was fat from it and found that I hadn't even scratched the surface.
Believe me, I will be keeping this book in my library for future reference and I'll be putting some of this to the test with my social media and website.
If you want to learn about marketing then this book is for you. There is a lot to take in but it's well worth it.

If you are studying sales and marketing you’ll want this book.

If you are studying sales and marketing? I would definitely recommend this book. Even if you don’t read it all at once, there are nuggets worth digging out from time to time. Depending on your situation.
