Five Years After: Book Two

Rate this book
Over two thousand great reviews for LeRoy Clary's books.Nine years after was selected by Amazon Kindle Reader's in 2023"After" is a stand-alone book series, read and enjoy in any order.Five years after the bombs fell and the privileged descended into secretly constructed sanctuaries, five people want out. The problem is that there has been no contact with the world outside and what they find may be a desolate landscape filled with radiation and deadly creatures. Or worse. However, after five years of living in a small underground sanctuary, perhaps that is preferable to the dull existence below. There are traitors, unexpected turns and twists to the story, and life on the surface is not the idyllic paradise they hoped for. Pen, short for Penelope, is not your usual heroine. Her mouth is her worst enemy and she does not back down.

I've never seen a dragon, but wish I had. I live in Washington State with my wife, youngest son, and dog named Molly. I spend my time doing what I love the most: writing about an action-packed fantasy world of dragons, and magic. My leisure time is spent traveling and exploring the beautiful countryside in the Pacific Northwest from high desert to forests to coastal terrain.

In recent years, I've published over a dozen fantasy books including one called "DRAGON! Stealing the Egg" which began the idea of how to live and survive in a world where dragons are part of the landscape. The Dragon Clan Series is built on that idea. It is unique in that it introduces a new main character in each of the eight books of the series, yet continues the same storyline.

The book entitled Blade of Lies: Mica Silverthorne Story was a finalist in an Amazon national novel writer’s contest in 2013. My most recent series is The Mage’s Daughter, which is a little action and a bit of magic.

After

This was a well written storyline about after a war with some nation thAt attacked like Pearl Harbor and September 11th, Days of Infamy, from cowards who will attack behind your back! It was a. Enjoyable story about the Cowardly Rich, Famous and Politicians who hid in shelters while the American People fought, starved and died!

Interesting ending

A bar maid is trapped in a end of the world for 5 years. She finds a way out after being sentenced to die for her loud mouth. In the next few days she and a few survivors battle others and then find that they have other problems they had not considered. This was a different problem to a way of thinking. This was very PG and clean.

Most excellent

Mr. Clary has provided another good read. The characters were well developed, and the plot was well done. I enjoyed the book thoroughly with the only exception being the lead character was, it seemed, a bit overly lucky in some instances.

Good story with great plot twists.

HIt was a pleasure to read this book. The characters were well developed and the plot twists were a delight. Almost as important is the fact that someone proofread the story prior to publication. Looking forward to the next books.

Why the folks in proof reading didn't catch all the blank pages I'll never understand. There's a

blank page, then the storyline continues with paragraphs missing. It's becoming irritating to say the least. I'm getting pissed off!

I totally enjoyed this story. Characterizations were real, the individuals were well drawn out but the reasons behind the cataclysmic fall of civilization [in the Pacific Northwest US at least]are left to our imagination. The author does supply a few hints but nothing firm. Maybe that's what the author intended simply because the story is about people adapting to a world not of their making but one they are forced to live in.

Sad

9 years after was humorous without to much violence this book lacks the humor and sadly ups the violence. Still it is well written and worth the read

Wished it actually lasted a bit longer. I know the area that's is written about and author did a good job describing it. I enjoy the genre and this was a unique one.
