Megan

My cat’s missing, and I’m starting to freak out...

I’ve been putting on a brave face
Done everything I can to get him back

But the longer he’s gone, the more I worry

All that changes when a cranky old lady phones me up...

She’s found my cat
He’s stuck up a tree…

But when I get to her house, my fabulous feline isn’t all that’s waiting for me…

Clay

For years I’ve been putting my daughter first
Her well-being is more important than my love life

When I found out my ex-wife was cheating on me
I thought I could never trust anyone again

But Megan changed all that...

From the moment I set eyes on her
I knew I’d found my soul mate

She’s perfect
Curves as delicious as the days are long

I need her in my life
I need her to be mine

But something goes wrong
She cancels our date and won’t pick up my calls

I’m tempted to leave her be
To try and move on without her in my life

But I know, deep down
I'll never forgive myself if I let her go...

Megan is upset because her cat has been missing for a week and she is imagining the worst. While being on the phone with her friend, another call came in. Some lady on the other end was telling her that she needed to come get her cat out of her tree, as she had a TV show to watch and the cat was loud. After getting in her car she raced over there. When she arrived there was a handsome firefighter trying to get her cat out of the tree. Once she called the cat, he jumped out of the tree, while the firefighter got out of the tree.
Before she left the firefighter introduced himself as Clay and asked Megan to get coffee. Megan was thrilled she was going on a date. Her day couldn't get any better, she got her cat back and has a date with a hot firefigher.
At the coffee shop he got a call that he had a young daughter. Clay was afraid she'd run for the hills because he is a single Dad who a daughter but Megan didn't care. She actually thinks that is sexy.
While at the mall sopping Megan saw Clay there shopping as well with a beautiful woman holding his arm. This upset Megan, she ignored so his calls, messages. She didn't want to hear he was married cause that would kill her. She decided to move away with her friend to get away from Clay.
Clay didn't understand why Megan was ignoring him. After going to her job and finding she quit her job and was moving with her girlfriend and she was at the air as he spoke with her boss.
Clay took off for the airport to get his woman back. Once there he was screaming her name, finally turning around she sees Clay. He asks why she was ignoring her? She explained she saw him at the mall with a woman. He explained it is his sister. Once that was created up Clay took Megan home. They bought he book store and opened a coffee shop. Both their dreams came true. They both run the book/ coffee shop. Then her dream came true when her hot firefighter asked her to marry him. She couldn't be happier.

Quick Summary
After getting a call from a grouchy old lady who knows were Captain Fluffington is, Megan races off to rescue her missing cat.

The hunky fireman who was called in to rescue CF is single dad, Clay, a hot older man who instantly takes a liking to Megan.

But their instant attraction is almost derailed by a few misunderstandings for these two.

🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤
This was a quick insta-love romance between to likable characters, I just wished for more build up for the MCs. It felt a little rushed in places that would have benefitted from some one on one page time where they connected on a more emotional level, rather than relying so heavily on the physical side of things.

There was a lot of filler on Megan's love for her cat in the beginning, which was quirky and sweet but didn't flow well with the overall pace of the story and then there was the "older fireman" hunk, Clay. He is older (described as having silver hair and salt and pepper stubble on his jaw) but there's no age given and it's mentioned he's a single dad but Olivia is only mentioned in passing and doesn't really make an appearance in the story. These are two specific details about the MC that get glossed over and left me with more questions than answers.

Overall a quick read with potential but ended too soon. I was just warming up to the MCs and settling into the story when it ended in a nice tidy HEA.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! By the time you’ve figured out who is who and who to like and dislike, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
(Believe me when I say you won’t put it down until the last page is read…you will find yourself getting upset cause someone called, texted or bothered you while reading this one, you will find yourself up at ungodly hours just to finish it knowing you have to be at work early (like 3am early) the very next day) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Megan is really sweet, kind, treats others well and a little nerdish she works as a bookstore assistant and she loves her fur baby who has been missing for a bit. She loves this fur baby, wants no needs him back home with her and she has looked everywhere but can’t seem to find her kitty. An old grumpy lady found her much loved kitty, but her fur baby is stuck up a tree. Clay a sexy as all get out older man with the silver hair is a loving single dad, has trust issues due to his catching his ex-wife cheating on him and ever since then he has done everything in his power to be the best dad including putting all his needs on the back burner that is until he lays eyes on Megan, he felt it instantly. The intense magnetic chemistry pull between the two of them that they can’t deny it but something happens to find out what well you will need to read the book to see if they actually do get their HEA.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Megan is devastated her cat Captain Fluffington has been missing for a week and she has done all she can think of to find him, so when she receives a call from a woman claiming he is up a tree in her garden she races off desperate to get him back. She arrives just as he is being rescued by a fireman. When he asks her out for a coffee she readily agrees and they share a kiss that she is sure has just changed her life and they agree to another date, but when she sees him and a stunning woman together when shopping with her friend Kate, she feels a fool and with the bookshop she works at closing is there any reason to stick around?

Clay in all his years as a fireman has never been called out for the cliché getting the cat out of the tree. Just as he is about to get to grumpy looking cat does he hear someone calling for the cat misses his step on the ladder and ends up flat on his back winded but all seems worth it with one look at Megan he has done more than fall off his ladder. And when she agrees to a date after a coffee together and a sweet kiss, he finally feels like he can move on from his ex and he and his daughter may have found the one meant for him. But when there is a misunderstanding and he learns she is leaving town will he be in time to stop her from going and giving them a chance at a future?

Megan is a bit nuts but in a good way and Clay is a fantastic character and you really are routing for them to make a go things. There are some very sweet moments in this and all in all it will leave you smiling and wondering if that’s what you should call your next cat. Short and sweet 4* read.

Disappointed . . .

Megan’s cat, missing for a week, has made Megan frantic until an elderly woman calls to tell her he is stuck in her tree and ruining her TV program with his yowling. Megan races to the address and meets Clay, the firefighter trying to coax “Captain Fluffington” out of the tree. After all the rescue excitement, Clay invites her out for coffee. The date goes very well, and the second date is planned… until suddenly she is cold and distant to him! What happened?

For some reason, I didn’t like any of the characters in this book, and their dialog and internal thoughts were jarring or rude. What was meant to be humor just didn’t achieve that and the selfishness of the characters came through (which I don’t believe was the intention). The professional fireman falling out of the tree, literally and only because the cat’s owner was pretty, was not a humorous scene. And the old lady who constantly snarls at him is also not funny, especially as the professional fireman childishly snarls back at her as if the two of them were children. Megan seems to me to be very clueless about everything, and her misinterpreting something that ruins their relationship was made so much worse by her over-dramatizing her incorrect perceptions instead of just asking a simple question. This story line didn’t work for me.

Megan has been upset because her cat has been missing for a week. She is talking to her friend about her worries when she gets another call at first not understanding it until the old woman yelled something about a cat. Excited Megan races to the woman's house to get her cat from the tree. Clay is a firefighter and he isn't having a good day. He is trying to get a cat out of a tree while an old lady screams at him about wanting to watch her shows. Before he can figure out his next move he hears a car pulled up and a woman's voice yell Captian Fluffington loudly and sees the cat jump from the tree to the woman. Distracted Clay missteps and falls off the ladder. Megan goes up to him to thank him for rescuing her cat and he asks her out. Will Megan find more than her cat? Can Clay finally find a woman to move on with?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Megan and Clay (older, single dad, firefighter) meet when he tries to rescue her cat from a tree. He asks her out for a date right then and there... no chit chat first. The story makes him seem in his 50s - with a touch of silver, while the way Megan acts and the things she says to her friend, sounds like she is still a teenager. A bit far fetched to me. A father who has gone through a bad divorce and says he puts his child first, but after two weeks, he proposes after the first chance for the child and her to meet Too many things do not make sense. I have read a lot better stories by this author, so will try some more.

She has lost her cat for over a week. Now that she has been called to come get it she meets a hot firefighter. They end up going for coffee and she finds out he has a daughter. She likes the idea of him having a daughter. But another day she sees him with a beautiful woman on his arm at the mall. She does not tell him what she saw she just assumes he is married. She up and quits her job and is set to move with her best friend. HE finds this out and rushes to get to her before her departure. Will he be able to get to her in time and find out what happened?

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Clay is the first book in the ‘’sexy older alphas’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When a fireman rescues a cat he never expects to fall for its owner.
The chemistry between Clay and Megan is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

Megan works in a bookstore that is about to close down. She has a cat called captain Fluffington and has been missing for a week.
Clay is a fireman and has a daughter. He was called to rescue a cat stuck up a tree.
I enjoyed the story. The best part is the rescue of the cat scene. However, I would have like to read more interaction between Megan and Clay’s daughter and less between Megan and Kate. Three stars and a half.

I don't think I laughed so much. Her Hunky Fireman is a hot and steamy story of Megan and Clay. Megan has lost her cat and is at wits end. Clay is the fireman who gets to save it. Oh their story is sweet, fun with passion that will burn down a house, but what makes this story is who Megan's mind can run a muck or the older couple who found the cat.

This is the first book in this series and if this is any indication what is in store, hold on tight it is going to be a great ride.

Megan has been missing her cat for one week. She gets a call and the woman tells her that the cat is up her tree and come and get it. Megan races over and sees the fireman up a tree trying to help her cat. Megan calls the cat, it jumps out of the tree and the fireman falls out of the tree. It's love at first sight. Clay and Megan hit it off on the first date. There little drama, but plenty of sweet, sexy steam. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a short and sweet slice of heaven. I really enjoyed this book. Clay and Megan meet when her cat runs away and gets stuck in a tree. Clay is the firefighter trying to get her cat down. They go on a coffee date and really hit it off so a second date is set and then a small mishap happens. The grand gesture was awesome!

The author has pulled us into the lives of Clay and Megan and does not let go. A chance encounter between Clay, fireman, Captain Fluffington, lost cat, and Megan, owner of lost cat, will change the lives of all of them.

This was a cute short story of a chance meeting of a fireman answering a call, only to meet his perfect woman. I did think it jumped a bit from one part to the other, felt a little lost in the scenes for a bit. Though I did enjoy the ending, as Clay made his mad dash to get to Megan, quite the grand gesture indeed.

Megan is beside herself when her cat goes missing. However, if he had not ran off she never would have met lay. Clay is the fireman who tried to rescue her cat. They have both been single for awhile. This is a short, instaromance with some kinks along the way to a HEA.

Clay

Live at first site, and cat rescue, leads to a coffee date...which leads to another date that doesn't happen because she sees him with another woman thinking he's a cheater she blows him off. He has one last chance to change her mind when she's about to move to another city.

Good story

Good story but seemed a bit rushed towards the end. 3 instead of 4 stars down to fact there were a few spelling mistakes or wrong words used that irritated.
