This book is a free e-book from Yaqeen Institute which summarized the whole season of the previous series Qur'an 30 for 30.
So we have the framework of each Juz explained, and as it's the companion reader, we can understand the main points of the messages that are meant to be conveyed to us in each Juz, along with the respective surahs in it. As for me, I gained a lot of new information that I realized are in the surahs all along and that made me appreciate Qur'an more. I use this book for my tadabbur session too.
This book is 246 pages solution to your everyday problem. Download a copy of it from Yaqeen Institute website. I also recommend following it up with the juz by juz video also on Yaqeen Institute.
This free e-book could be a good companion for reading the Quran, especially the translation of the quran for non-native Arab. It provides a short description of each of the Juzzs of the Quran. This makes it easy to understand the Juzz The authors kept the size of all the Juzz almost same. It is in some sense problematic as later Juzzs have more surahs; the same size does not make justice for them. However, my main complaint against this book is it did not follow the traditional reference system of Quranic Ayat (Surah number followed by Ayat number). This makes life difficult as I have to go to the end of the document to understand which surah and Ayat they are refering to.
There are brief depictions of the history/stories associated with the surahs. There is a stronger focus on the themes and lessons and how they work in conjunction with each other.
The organization of this book could have been done a little differently but overall it was such an amazing way to get a better understanding of the Quran. MashaAllah
