Great Book (#2)
This book has been a long time coming. Not because Ceb can’t take his time writing other things and living life and all, but because the story concept is so. Damn. Good. Take a meta-human universe and the stories you could do with it. That’s been done, with good and bad results. But that’s not the focus at all here. Nope. Narrow the story down to just a man’s relationship with his car, right? Now expand on that with how much the car loves him right back. Add to it that the car can still have some car characteristics. Now add in some other vehicle relationships and how those might go. With everyone. Now make the MC a good guy, but not a decent guy. He’s strong, but not physically, or emotionally. He’s not that good with relationships. He has a past that would give hardened soldiers nightmares, and he may suffer from PTSD (ya think?), which would explain a lot about his behavior. However, he is very very clever. And lucky. He fights dirty for good reasons. He loves the people (etc.) that push through all the crap to stay with him and keep him moving forward when he himself cannot do it. He’s not afraid to use all of their combined skills to win. Oh hell yes.
Now say that the story is being written by an author who is extremely good at characterization, plot, humor, and having the under dog taking a beating but still managing to rise up, spit some blood, and kick ass.
Great series. Highly recommended (17+)
