T.A.P. #2

Breakup

Rate this book
How hard could it be?

You're back? And you want to know what happened next? Well okay then, pull up a chair and I'll tell you what went down in Minot.

Yes. North Dakota. THAT Minot. Just goes to show not all the strange is confined to the big city.

We went up there looking for the missing daughter of a friend of mine, and wound up neck-deep in trouble when instead of the missing girl, we found a drug ring.

And a mind controlled cult.

Ruse did something stupid, Cougs got jealous, Kahni caused trouble, I got arrested again, and by the end of it half the town was gunning for my hide.

Interested? Well grab a drink and some snacks, because you'll never believe this ...

Truly enjoyable series.

Let’s face it. If you read the first book, you are gonna get this one. If you haven’t, then you need to pick up both today. The nature of the stories is a breath of fresh air. The issues and obstacles are not world ending, nor do they try to be AAA action set pieces. I kinda get a Dresden files vibe from the books, with the serial nature of the stories and scope of the baddies involved. In addition, the humor and references are frickin great(Sho’nuff!)

I am having a hard time coming up with what to say about this book. It is not typical of the genre. I guess the best thing to say to start is that I liked it. There are directions I wish the author would have gone and things I wanted to read more about but that is just my personal preference. The reason I say it is not typical of the genre is that it is more .... intellectual my be the best word to describe it. This is a harem story but there wasn't much sex. The author spent most of time dealing with the relationships between the characters. Anything Sam turns on becomes self aware. His car he has had forever loves him. The motorcycle that he awakened in the last book wants him. Though she also wants Ruse. Do those women want him because he is the only thing keeping them alive or do they really want him? What about Ruse? How does she feel. It also doesn't help that almost everyone of them is something of a feminist. They give him a lot of shit for hooking up with women in the past and how much or a horndog he is when he looks at them, but at the same time want to be in a group relationship with him. Things are a lot more complicated than most harem stories.

I do wish that the MC would use his power a little more. There are so many interesting things that could have been explored with is powers. I understand his reluctance. They are machines up until he turns them on. There is no problem using the machines before they gain sentience but after I can see how confusing that can be. Especially when he has no plans to keep them alive and with him. Still, there are so many things that I would love to read about with that power set.

The setup to this story is the only thing that I really didn't agree with I am looking forward to the next one to see where this is heading.

Great Book (#2)

This book has been a long time coming. Not because Ceb can’t take his time writing other things and living life and all, but because the story concept is so. Damn. Good. Take a meta-human universe and the stories you could do with it. That’s been done, with good and bad results. But that’s not the focus at all here. Nope. Narrow the story down to just a man’s relationship with his car, right? Now expand on that with how much the car loves him right back. Add to it that the car can still have some car characteristics. Now add in some other vehicle relationships and how those might go. With everyone. Now make the MC a good guy, but not a decent guy. He’s strong, but not physically, or emotionally. He’s not that good with relationships. He has a past that would give hardened soldiers nightmares, and he may suffer from PTSD (ya think?), which would explain a lot about his behavior. However, he is very very clever. And lucky. He fights dirty for good reasons. He loves the people (etc.) that push through all the crap to stay with him and keep him moving forward when he himself cannot do it. He’s not afraid to use all of their combined skills to win. Oh hell yes.

Now say that the story is being written by an author who is extremely good at characterization, plot, humor, and having the under dog taking a beating but still managing to rise up, spit some blood, and kick ass.

Great series. Highly recommended (17+)

I can't believe I'm picking up this sequel... I didn't enjoy book one much, but I'm short on books that interest me at the moment.

LOL. I finally find out what T.A.P. stands for. Book was entertaining too.

I needed a well written book like this.

Will pick up the sequel sometime.

Solid sequel

I don’t always like sequels because they rarely live up to the hype of the first book. But this one right here!? It was even better. Lots of character development. Maceman went to this podunk little town as a favor to Major Penrose for saving his bacon in book1, o what should have been a simple find out where his teen daughter went. What should have been simple turned into real complicated real fast. Someone has been peddling a drug that kills people unless you keep taking it to the local high school students. Ruse has taken this drug and if MaseMan doesn’t find a cure he’s going to die in 10 days. And it looks like Major Penrose’s daughter is caught up in all of it.

Long wait but worth it

Fantasy harem adult situations
I literally found out the book released yesterday, bought it, and finished it today in one sitting, I enjoyed it that much. If Cebelius writes more stories like this, I and others like me will keep him in plenty of beer and popcorn.

Not many stories deal realistically with the thorny issues of harems that are forming - jealousy, possessiveness, honesty, tact, and others that can complicate love and lust and sharing. And that wasn't the main plot. Yeah, Cebelius is that good. There were some laugh out loud moments, too. Recommended.

A super gritty pi story

I like this continuation and I hope to read more like to see what Sam does how he survives and how he stays in the background. He's kind of an unrepentant scoundrel but a lovable one just ask his women who all happened to be cars used to be cars. Oh and let me know not forget the one human female that is with them as well. There is lots of drama lots of tongue and cheek humor and lots of battles and who done it stuff. I hope I continue to be able to read more this was a fun read for me. The different characters have different personalities and it was refreshing take on a type of super anti-superhero story.

Not quite as good as the first book

Lots of laughs and in jokes as the new A-Team goes on a mission. We find out what TAP stands for…. Tactical Application of Power, or is it… you will need to read this book to find out. Not a fan of drugs and drug rings exploiting school kids so the topic was not a favourite, but you know meta-humans are involved if Sam and Co are on the job. When it comes down to it it’s just a good fun book to read, not particularly long either, or I just read it quickly.

Really good book, throughly enjoyed it. Cebelius has a habit of making damaged characters that you root for and this series isn't any different. Though with the heavy jealousy of the main girl I'm assuming he won't be collecting more women anytime soon which is good if the main girls are interesting. Not too invested with the girls yet but i think that'll probably change. Mason though is really good. He has beliefs and won't be rolled over on. Lot of harem guys have a tendency to get drowned out by the majority. Overall an enjoyable experience reading it.

Another Homerun

If you haven’t checked out Cebelius’ other works, you’re truly missing out. He releases a book, and I read it. He’s one of the small number of authors to belong to that group - I’m a picky reader. This series isn’t as dark as his other works, but he still manages to add some grit in with the quirky humor, fantastic storyline, and well fleshed out side characters. I’m eagerly awaiting the next in the series!

Again!!!

Ceb has done it again. I swear what he writes is made from gold. I love the second book. Expands on everything from book 1. I hope this will be a long series. I really enjoy the characters, I feel like they are real to me. I care about them as they go through all the craziness. Give it a read, won’t disappoint!!!

Another funny super powered romp

After the seriousness on Celestine, TAP is a great change off pace. All the same build-up in character building and world progression, but with added snark. Funny as heel and a brilliantly diverting read. Actually glad Ceb's next publication will be the 3rd in this series. Don't keep us waiting too long, eh.

Top Notch

This is a stellar series with deep interpersonal connections. Even with the introduction of new characters the original weren't lost in a shuffle, and continue to develop. Glad the next is coming soon because it feels like the story us just picking up with a major quest on the horizon.

Freaking love this series.

I gave it 4 Stars because it was made that the book ended, and I was hoping for more.

I did really like the book. I loved group talk between the women and how they sorted out their feelings toward maceman. That gave the book a real touch life for me.

I will recommend this series to anyone who loves good reads and good fiction.

Loving this series!

Sam and his girls, for lack of a better term take on a missing persons case and wind up in the middle of a drug dealing, mind control mess. When Ruse is affected the group gets serious about burning it all down. Fast paced action, and adventure ensues. Hot cars, bikes women, what more could you ask for? Just bought book 3!

Made me smile

Another good book for this series. I rather enjoyed this book. The character development was on point and very well done. The MC is self deprecating but has a good sense of humor.

Fun follow-up

As the first book is usually character building, this one seems to be more team building. All in all, a fun trip with interesting characters in a weird situation. Enjoy!!

I loved this sequel!

I throughly enjoyed the first T.A.P. Unique, new, and well crafted story. This second installment was just as good if not better. The characters are well fleshed out (inside joke) and I’m very impatiently waiting for #3.

Love love love

Cebelius is one of my favorite authors, really bringing this series alive. Love the way he breaks the fourth wall, draws the reader in, some really nice plot twists, and definitely had me reading until waaaaayyyyy too late. I am purchasing this series, not just KU.

Good book

This is the second one in the series. Cebelius Writes knocked it out off the ballpark. If you alternate realities and action you'll like it too.

Finding it’s path

It took me a minute to get back into the rhythm, but this is a really fun ride. Superhero-in with an odd super power.

More please?

Yep, it's a shame but I can't stomach anymore of this. The author is actually pretty good at producing characters that have personalities and are actually interesting and individual. But the haram aspect... To me it seems so... desperate, pathetic, and self delusional... I couldn't get around it enough to finish this book. The fact that it's trying SO hard to justify itself as purely reasonable polygamy only makes it worse. "Oooh, I'm hot, your hot, we're all hot. It could be fun! But it's all gotta center around this ONE dude as though he's the holy center of our galaxy. It's definitely not a selfish fantasy of anyones...." >.> I can't see it any other way.

Cebelius haven't disappointed me so far, and this book is a great addition to his collection. Thankfully we have a great character make a comeback in this series, and we get the meaning of T.A.P which is hilarious by the way. Some sad truths are revealed to us the readers, while the main mystery is still around, I am dying to meet Karen and see what she brings to the series. We get deeper into the character of Samuel, what makes him tick and his circumstance as well as what drove him to his unique outlook of life.
