If Then: A Thrilling Teen & Young Adult Sci-Fi Fantasy Adventure by Carol B. Allen is a teenage or young adult sequel to the Virago Fantasy series. On the first book, it ended with Parker becoming the Sky Queen of Spyridon’s Upperworld, assuming this role by Stefanos, the former King.
In this book, the plots began with reminding everyone how Parker, a 17-year-old teenager, became the Sky Queen of Spyridon's Upperworld. While she's struggling with her new role and doubting whether she has the capacity to lead and be Queen, her friends, Edison Cole, and Henley, are looking for new solutions regarding the Upperworld problems.
As the plot continues, The Underworld Empress is seeking war and Parker, Edison, Cole and Henley are put on another adventure where they will be obligated to face the macabre Empress of the Underworld, Diadora. With the classic narrative of friendship and love, Parker and her group of friends must assume their role in stopping the devastation of the climate change of Spyridon and end the civil war, forever.
If you're someone that enjoys reading Young Adult books, you could definitely read this one. Since I like books that surround environmental sciences, I thought that I would really enjoy this book and gave it a try, and it was! Also, if a book has a map, it wins my heart.

An earthling ruling the Upperworld and the Great Ones question her ability to be a leader because she was not one of them. How could Parker, a simple New York teenager be the Queen and command them. After all lines to the throne were poisoned and killed, the dying Kind names Parker as the next ruler, the new Sky Queen.
The book starts by revealing the plot, it tells how Parker came to rule. While she and her friends, Edison, Henley and Cole think about resolutions to the Upperworld’s problems. Parker doubts her capabilities but the voice of the dead King Stefanos reassures her of her role.
“You are the one, Parker. You will make sure our plant will survive. You must believe in yourself.”
Readers can look forward to a little romance, innocent and sweet. Parker’s love interest adds to the enjoyment of the books. The characters are well-constructed and don’t simply fall in love, readers get hints of the attraction and desire.
The book continues at a fast pace as readers see the power of friendship and loyalty. Her friends fight to protect her because regions of the Underworld were set to overthrow her. Parker faces many challenges but the author’s writing was very descriptive and vivid.
The narrative jumps from setting to setting and from one point of view to another before the story unfolds to the reader. The book was easy to read and event progressed quickly. The varied characters in this fantasy novel would appeal to teens and adults that enjoy.

Parker Kittredge is not only tasked with to stop the devastation of climate change and end civil war, but she also bears the mantle of Sky Queen of Spyridon's Upperworld. She also must face her rival, the Empress of the Underworld. Parker and her friends embark on a journey to uncover secrets buried by Spyridon scientist which is laced with enemies from all fronts and treacherous every step of their way. Superbly intertwined with heartbreak, alliance, and betrayals, the teen empowers themselves, but their journey home will not be easy.
The best of the story is that even though it being a fantasy novel, we can relate the issues within reality. This is not only a sci-fi adventure of three teens but an actual representation of need to tackle climate change and sustainability. There is much to learn for everyone in it. The plot is amazing and as it progresses it becomes quite charismatic with the characters well developed and superb interaction of them. The next book in the series is even more exciting and engaging than the first. With higher-than-ever stakes and even steeper obstacles to overcome, it was a ride from start to finish as we follow Parker and her friends as they try to save the planet — a feat that grows more and more impossible every minute.
To do so, Parker has to overcome her own insecurities and rise to the occasion, fully coming into her powers and leadership as she works to bring peace among so many warring sides.
But Parker can’t do it alone, and this time we are privy to more than just her story as we meet a wider range of characters, seeing the conflict from multiple points of view and empathizing with those previously thought of as antagonists. We also see more of the world, as the Middleworld and Deeperworld are explored and explained and we get intriguing glimpses into the past — a past that too closely echoes Earth’s own, and serves as a warning to our own climate crisis.
Like the first book, the ending only makes me want to read more, and I can’t wait to see where they characters go from here.

Carol B Allen is the author of this book called If then, the second book of the series called The Virago Fantasy that relates to teens and the planet’s sustainability. This book continues with Parker Kittredge a 17-year-old fighting against evil trying to protect her planet from climate change and a horrible civil war. She is facing The Empress of the Underworld, but she is not alone, helping her are Edison and Henley, her closest friends. Together, they will face hidden secrets, enemies, and even the loss of love, but will they be able to succeed?
This story is one for the win! I really enjoyed the characters but mostly the powerful message that Allen is putting out there: Take care of your planet. It is a book that focuses on teens and young adults, but I have to say, I really believe adults will like it as much as I did! The plot is great and easy to follow and has a couple of twists along the way. Solid read!

If Then: A Thrilling Young Adult Sci-Fi Fantasy is the sequel to Only If that I have been waiting to come out. Carol B Allen continues the course Parker Kittredge is bound to as the bearer of the Sky Queen's mantle. She questions her ability to lead the Spyridon Upperworld nation, but so do most of the leaders. She and Cole's relationship continue to blossom, but can she trust the spy? Parker, Edison, and Henley have their work cut out for them as they try to bring two countries together to save their world.
Again, I found Carol B Allen a compelling author with a talent to bring characters alive with vivid clarity. If Then keeps you guessing as to what else with be added to this thriller. The layers of deceit and lust for power continue to grow until they must decide to stay or go home where it is safe. I couldn't help but smile at the ending as the two worlds start a new chapter.

War and treachery in a captivating world threatened with environmental disaster.
In this second book of the series, Parker and her teenage partners continue their adventures on the world of Spyridon. As the sky queen and ruler of the Upperworld, Parker is faced with another war with the Lowerworld as a result of treachery that will involve the entire planet in a conflict and threaten it with further environmental damage and destruction. Beautifully drawn maps and illustrations, together with glowing prose, bring the character's and the colorful world to sparkling life, and although the actual plot is aimed at describing the damage that we are doing to our own world, this is still an immensely captivating fantasy that will be enjoyed by young adults and older adults, alike.

What a great story! 'If then" is the name of a fascinating sci-fi story about teenagers. It was written by Carol B. Allen.
Due to a chaotic and catastrophic situation, the planet might reach its end unless someone resolves it. The future of the world is in the hands of three teens who have the power to save it. Parker, Edison and Henly are close friends who embark on this harsh task. Will they be able to do it?
When it comes to adventurous and dynamic scenes, this is the perfect story. It´s a well-written novel with dynamic and complex characters who must protect their place against enemies. I really liked the author's writing style since it's engaging and these teens' adventures are easy to follow. Themes of friendship, betrayal and love are present here. All in all, it's perfect for lovers of good fantasy stories.

If Then by Carol B Allen is a Sci-Fi Fantasy Adventure that caught my attention from the very beginning. Being this the second part of the story, I started reading it with a lot of interrogations that needed to be answered. I was eager to read this second part, because I found such an amazing story in the first book. I felt attracted to this story not only for its plot, which is great, but also for all the stories that go along the main one. The different life changes and moments that the characters undergo, the values that it teaches. I also found the dialogues very interesting, the vocabulary used by the author provides the perfect frame for the fiction. I don't want to spoil anything, all I can say is that I enjoyed every page of this book and will certainly follow Allen's work from now onwards.

If-Then: A Thrilling Young Adult Sci-Fi Fantasy Adventure (Virago Fantasy Book 2)is a riveting sequel to One If. Here, Parker squares off with the Empress of the Underworld. Parker herself is part of the Upperworld. This is a well-written tale that will appeal to the YA age group and even older. This will also appeal to those interested in STEM. The inclusion of the maps in this book is a thoughtful touch, and beyond helping you visualize, they are quite appealing art-wise. The story itself involves Parker and her friends fighting off evil forces as they struggle on their dangerous journey. With a well-conceived plot, a fast pace, and highly descriptive writing this is the perfect book to delve into. Realistic characters round out the action. Recommended.

As I see it, this novel started really interesting, then in the middle it meandered a bit and tightened up towards the end. Anyway, I loved reading this book so much so that I didn't want it to end!
The writer of this title is very talented in creating genuine tension, mystery and tension. I think that at some points I ran out of air expecting what would happen next.
This captivating page-turner is about three adolescents and the planet’s sustainability. The topic was, in my opinion, sublime! Nowadays, it’s believed that the new generation doesn’t care about climate change or the environment. However this amazing novel shows that they can make a difference.
Definitely, it’s a must read!

The novel tells the story of three young people who are determined to save the planet. They get involved in endless quests and travels to work against climate change and in favor of sustainability.
Although the book is addressed to adolescents and young people and I think it is perfect for them, I enjoyed it and learned a lot. It helped me open my eyes and recognize the mistakes we continue making and that affect our planet.

This story is fast paced and a fun read that will keep you on edge from the first chapter. This is a sequel to One If and features Parker and her battle with the Empress of the underworld. The book is well written and comes complete with maps to help guide you through the journey. The characters are well developed and the scenes are descriptive and make you feel like you are right there in the story. I found this one to be a very enjoyable read and would recommend it to all young adults who like sci-fi and futuristic genre. Check this one out and let me know what you think.

the ones responsible for saving the world which is about to end. Its future is in their hands.
This science-fiction book is ambitious, good-paced and satisfying, built on the author’s solid storytelling skills.
It brings two different, yet alike at some point, worlds together. This clash between the two worlds is well-portrayed and it was done in a descriptive way.
All in all, this is a highly compelling and outstanding book. I loved it!

A marvelous fiction for young minds

Readers of this fiction will learn new vocabulary and enrich their curious minds while enjoying an

Author Allen makes life on earth depend on three young teenagers that are willing to risk everything,
including their lives, in order to make humanity survive. The characters’ motivation, willingness and courage is inspiring and nerve racking at the same time.
From the moment I started reading, I was not able to put the book down. I give this book five stars
and I hope it reaches lots of teenage minds and hearts.

This is the second book in the Virago Fantasy series, "If then" is going to continue the plot and characters from book one beginning with contemporary themes such as climate change. I found it very interesting how author Carol B Allen introduces such relevant topics in today's world in this fiction making it relevant to the whole story.
It's a great book for younger readers, especially not only because they are getting a very adventurous plot but also because they can relate, in a way, to reality.

"If then" is the second book of the series, written by Carol B. Allen. In this novel, we find our heroes in another world. Parker, Edison and Henley are in the Upperworld since the Underworld is completely poisoned. They've just discovered how to make water drinkable, but there's much more to do in this world in order to save it.
This book is a perfect example of what could happen to our planet if people don't start paying attention to it. Mixing science, environmental enigmas, and a little bit of alien magic and mystery, this novel is basically destined for people interested in saving the world, or at least people who won´t try to make it worst!

Carol's depth of imagination and world-building is impressive, and all the satisfying twists turn legend on its head. It’s a story that reads beautifully and will linger with you. I was sucked in quickly and stayed up late reading the last quarter of the book it was so full of tension–I just had to know what was going to happen. But while the pace is steady, it takes time for this story to unfold. This book has every ingredient to sweep you off your feet. The storyline behind this book is so amusing I couldn't stop myself from getting my hands on this masterpiece.
I’m already missing the characters after finishing this book a couple of days ago. I was so drawn into their world, that I didn’t want the book to end. Very consistent and engaging world-building, great cast, thoroughly enjoyable read. Absolutely exceptional
Ever since finishing book one I've been hooked on this series. And now I'll continue on to book 3. I absolutely love the world created within this series and the characters have become friends. I yearn to read of their adventures and struggles. And the ending of this one, all I'll say is wow. I highly recommend this series.
