New voices and new stories emerge in the first ever anthology of the Last Brigade Universe. Between the Collapse of America and the activation of Operation Overtime, lived heroes who kept alive the idea of freedom by standing fast against evil wherever they found it. They wouldn't have called themselves heroes, they were simply people who knew right from wrong and acted on those beliefs, but of course, that's the definition of heroism. The stories here represent a cross-section of survivors of the world's greatest civilization, represented by unforgettable characters who are right at home alongside Nick Angriff and Green Ghost. Find out how the Angriff family got their surname, and what happened when a group of disarmed police officers decided that chaos wasn't their style. There are soldiers trying to get home, a dreamer wondering why the stars still look the same, and an old man who mastered the craft of gunsmithing, and used it to save his granddaughter.

A Southern boy through and through, Bill spent his entire life learning how to tell stories. It's all Bill ever wanted to do, to inspire and entertain people the way his favorite authors did for him.
Over the years he has developed a unique writing style, or 'Voice', of which he is very proud, with the objective of trying to always entertain his readers.
After graduating from the University of Memphis with dual concentrations in History and Creative Writing, Bill has been published in such diverse magazines as Tied in a Bow (for Wedding planning) and World War II. His books include both non-fiction and fiction.
Ten writers and ten different perspectives as to what our country might look like after "The Collapse", wherein the U.S. economy, social structure, safety, and resilience is virtually wiped out. The authors - all well qualified sci-fi and military fiction writers - performed excellent work. I've read a number of Webb's works, and believe his story to start off the anthology is the best he's ever written. Very impressive work.
Can we some several different writers it is amazing how they all stream together. The description of the characters is right on with the Last Brigade Series. I can't wait for the next book to be published.
I have enjoyed Mr Webb's 'Standing' series and eagerly await his last in the series 'Standing Among the Tombstones.' Amazon does not seem to have a publication date yet. The Standing Fast stories are entertaining and reassure us that the good guys win, although I am sure everyone knew that, but just wanted to know how.
I really like the W.A.W. Last Brigade Universe, and read all of them that come out. This one did not disappoint. Different authors put their ideas about what happened into this book and they all fit very nicely into Webb's universe. I'll pick up all that come along.
It’s interesting that the least interesting story in this anthology is by the author who created this series. Every story but one is set in some part of the U.S of A
