A night of celebrating a new beginning ends in a nightmare that Grace can't escape. When she wakes up in a strange place three days later, she realizes her life has been turned upside down. She's been forced into a world where magic is real along with the monsters of myth. The vampire who marked her is hell-bent on making her come to him--to be one of his possessions. Grace soon learns that she was born a powerful witch and with the help of some new and old friends, she learns her craft as she transitions into a vampire/witch hybrid.
It's a race against time as the crazed vampire attempts to take over Grace's mind--he'll do anything to have her. Matthew, the hybrid who saved her life, will do anything to protect her, even if it means sacrificing his own life.
Angela Sanders is a USA Today bestselling author. She's a multi-genre author of all things romance, fantasy, as well as supernatural and psychological thrillers (the sky's the limit!).
As a retired Navy Chief, wife, and mother, Angela lives in Kentucky where she enjoys writing, editing, reading, or all three. She's a known coffee addict and audiobook hoarder.
Grace and her friends go out to have a good time and run into vampires but they don't realize what they are until it's too late. Grace is bitten but gets away and that's when Matthew finds her and brings her back to his place. He's a hybrid and knows what's going on with her. Grace is a witch but never had any training so her powers never manifested. Now she's a hybrid witch/vampire like Matthew and needs help to keep the vampire that bit her from getting to her mind and making her do things she doesn't want to.
Matthew and his friends come to her rescue and teach her what she needs to know but the vampire that bit her isn't giving her up without a fight. Grace and Matthew have some feelings for each other right from the beginning but they don't react on their feelings for a while because of everything that is going on. I liked their romance even if it did feel a little rushed towards the end.
The story was interesting but the writing style didn't help me really get into the story and the characters weren't all that interesting. I wanted to like this but I really didn't.
Marked By A Vampire is a great first in series. It lays the groundwork for what is sure to be a must read series for all paranormal fans. With in depth, relatable characters and extensive world building the reader is captivated from start to finish. I enjoyed the relationships in this book, especially when the bonds of friendship were tested. I look forward to more in this series and from this Author.
For me, while the first two or three chapters had a lot of good solid conflicts, the dialogue was a bit underwhelming. However, and here's why I still rated this as a 5, Angela Sanders more than made up for it in the remainder of the book. It's nice to have a wicked enemy to focus on. But more important is to set aside prejudices based on physical characteristics and look into the heart of each individual. Angela makes it quite clear that her good characters must stay within bounds. Stereotypes cause too many issues in our society. I am grateful to have author's spreading the word that we need to the person in mind as we form our opinions.
I received an advanced copy of this book, but the review is my own.
First let me say that I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, but it in no way influenced my feedback. I always leave an honest review.
This is my first time reading this author, & it won't be my last. Now, this is a gr8 start to an exciting new series. Definitely worth following. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs Up.
Fantastic story and amazing characters. A story of magic and vampires, my all time favourite. Perfect first book in this series. Looking forward to more by this author.
I have always loved reading about magic users and vampires but to mIx them together made this book a wonderful read. Cannot wait to see what's in store for Grace
What best witch and vampire story I have read in a long time. Action, love, romance and the best friendship girls could have! Loved it buying part two now
I really enjoyed this book. It has it all – a sweet new romance, scary vampires and non-stop action. Not only does it have a great plot, but the characters are strong and delightfully entertaining. The story is told in alternating chapters from the viewpoints of various characters. Marked by a Vampire may be the first in a new series, but it is set in the same universe from the Delphine Rising series (Raging Inferno). You can read this one without reading the other though. If you enjoy paranormal romance suspense I recommend this story to you.
When three friends go out for a night to celebrate a promotion, they will soon find that it will be their last normal night for a while. Attacked by vampires, Grace manages to flee into the night and into the arms of a stranger, who gives her a strong sense of security. Strange things begin to happen to Grace and she is forced to acknowledge that there really is a supernatural world, and she is gonna be right in the middle of it. The crazed vampire who attacked her marked Grace and is determined to do whatever it takes to find her. In a race to survive, Grace along with her new and old friends come together to face this terrible darkness.
I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it. All my opinions and thoughts are in no way influence by this.
Grace has gone out with close friends Amelia and Dell to celebrate her new job. They picked a different club though and jumped straight into trouble with out having a clue what they were getting into. Grace found herself being drawn to a strange man there with glowing eyes, talks to him, then wakes up in a room that is not her own three days later! Luckily for her an extremely good and kind person, Mathew, had found her lying bleeding on a pavement, took her home and cared for her with his aunt until she awakens. Dee was filled with worry and when Grace finally phoned her she hurried over to Mathew's home and found her friend in a worse condition than Dee had even imagined. Mathew and his aunt welcome Grace into their home where Dee is also invited to stay as the friends are told what they have become part of, with many shocks ahead for Grace. There are so many twists in this fine tale of adventure, trust, friendship and magic. I have read other books by Angela Sanders and found the magic and friendship within the stories always create a novel you just want to keep reading. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to read & review this story full of magic. Don't miss reading it as well. I've been waiting for the release date so I can share with others this with readers who enjoy a good read.
I truly enjoyed this book. It's lead Grace faces so many daunting changes and discoveries as she discovers she actually a witch - and has been marked by a vampire who is aiming to take her over. It's a battle against time for her, a vampire/witch hybrid, to learn her witchly powers so as to resist said vampire. Action, adventure and thrills ensue, along with deceits, betrayals, loyalties tested, failures and successes. And there's even romance, courtesy of Matthew, the hybrid who saves Grace's life, and will do anything to protect her...
Well written, well plotted, and with great lead and supporting characters. Most definitely well done...and highly recommended
I love these characters and the way their magic works! Also, I love that the magic in this story is deeply interwoven with prayer. What a great read!!!!!! =)

DNF'ed at 23% - may go back to this one, but it's super exposition heavy coupled with Grace being...ugh I'm not sure what, but annoying. The beginning was good though, very engaging, but it's all too pat currently.
This being my first book by Angela Sanders, I didn't know what to expect, so I was pleasantly surprised while reading it. The characters were dynamic and well defined, the storyline was fast paced and action packed.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
