A grisly discovery, a mysterious advert and a race against time to find the killer
Detective Inspector Olivia Austin is back and at the scene of a murder in a hotel.
A woman's body has been brutally mutilated and signs point to a crime of passion but as further sick details emerge, it's clear their killer is more dangerous than they first thought.
With a case stacking against her, and her own personal hell brimming over from the past, can she catch this sick individual before he strikes again? Or, will she have finally met her match?
I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series, and I was hoping to continue reading more about Olivia, but this novel ended with those three dreaded words:
BE AWARE this book is NOT a complete story! The killer is not identified, the detectives have no clues then, just as they have identified one of the victims, the DI gets a phone call telling her that someone known to her has been abducted, this is immediately followed by the words THE END and information that the story is continued in the next book. If the reader has invested in the story and wants to know the outcome they have no option but to buy the next book in the series! This does not show the author in a good light. It smacks of using readers as a way of making money (yes, I know that most authors don’t make a lot from each book) and shows a complete lack of regard for the readers.
Strange use of language, and lots of over the top eye messaging. This book in the series so gruesome, I nearly ditched it, but will read the next one. Not my favourite of the genre, but the main characters keeping me interested.
I feel that I have been duped into buying this book as usually the purchase is for a full edition NOT to find that I have to purchase the next in the series to find out the ending of a book, hence the low rating.
These books just get better and better. I am glad this story was not finished In a short read and can't wait for the next one. Liv and Dean are great the relationship between the two is very good and i just know there is more good stuff to come from these two
Enjoyed it but marked so low as this is only part one of the story and unless I missed something this isn't made clear.
The whole story is two books each of which are half the size of a normal novel. To spread it over two books smacks of cashing in. Why just not have a normal length novel..
Breathless and leaving the reader wanting more! Every character is totally believable and I need to download book 4 to carry on the suspense which is building very nicely. Well written
