The Dark rises in triumph, and the hope of humanity rests on an impossible quest…
The city of Faladir has become a fortress of evil. Creatures of shadow guard it. Sorcery protects it. And the king, wielding a talisman of evil, has the powers of a god - and uses them without caution.
But the Seventh Knight, long prophesied, has risen to power also. And the forces of Light, low in number but high in courage, stand tall. Battle is certain, and the blood of thousands will wet the earth. Unless the Seventh Knight chooses a bold quest...
The forces of destiny ebb and flow. Other armies gather like moths to a flame. Some to protect, some to seek spoil. But all ride on the currents of fate that none can see, save the wizard who uttered the prophecy a thousand years ago. Yet even he cannot say if Light or Dark will prevail…
I am a man born in the wrong era. My heart yearns for faraway places and even further afield times. Tolkien had me at the beginning of The Hobbit when he said, ". . . one morning long ago in the quiet of the world . . ."
I love to read high fantasy and epic fantasy novels, and I have a passion to write, to weave a story with words that draws the reader into another world.
One of the best series I have read for a long while.
The 5 stars r for keeping me entertained throughout the whole series. Along the lines of The Lord of the Rings. I can't give it enough praise. I will b reading more from this author and if this is anything to go by I will b very pleased.
Predictable plot seen in many much better written and more interesting books. Meh characters. Excessively long. I finished it simply because I had started it. I will try one more book by this author in hopes that he has gotten the boring, derivative and overly wordy stuff out of his system
More inspiring fantasy from Robert Ryan. Just when escape or victory appears crushed a way is provided. The characters had no easy tasks and many times I thought they would fail as tension against insurmountable odds piled up, so much so I had to put the book down momentarily! Another great series I'm glad I read.
This was a good series. The price point was beyond excellent. This is an excellent series for young teenagers . For older adult readers , there isn’t much that will keep them entertained. It has a good hook , it’s well told , it’s an easy read. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre of fiction.
It seemed to take a long and arduous journey to get to the ending, then the ending came swiftly, too swiftly after all the twists and turns. In the end you realise it’s all about the journey but while our two hero’s played their part none would have succeeded without Aranloth their would be no success. I enjoyed the journey.
I definitely enjoyed this series and it caught me off guard with a few surprises which doesn't happen often. It would of been nice to include more of the elves and dwarfs
I enjoyed reading this series. It fulfilled the need for truth and goodness against evil and the sacrifice that the people had to go through to obtain their freedom. I nenjoy readinf Robert Ryan's books. I look forward to future novels.
I came upon the series by chance, but have enjoyed all the books. The writer blends a mixture of adventures with knights and magic. The characters are well crafted and you come to enjoy them both good and bad.
A somewhat predictable plot. The story could have gone into more depth in places - felt it was a minimal outline. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy it but felt a little disappointed that it was quite short and felt a little superficial - true for each book I think.
Entertaining series. However, a few holes in the plot are exposed in the final book. The conclusion seemed rushed and less thrilling than it could have been. I would recommend the series but it falls short of excellence.
I loved this entire series. Some ers commented that it was easy to predict and a bit telegraphed, but that didn't bother me. It was an exciting tale with great action, magic, live and true friendship in the face of evil. If only the real world was so black and white!
