Detective Kate Morgan is hot on a new confusing case. A cyclist is killed at the main intersection to the University of British Columbia. At first glance it looks like a hit-and-run, but, as details emerge, it gets much more complicated.
From one day to the next, Simon is blinded by an overload of senses and noises. It’s impacting his regular business day, and he seems unable to control when and how these moments occur. Angry and frustrated, he tells Kate but knows she’s unable to help. How can she, when he can’t help himself?
As Kate struggles to work her way through a gang of arrogant university students, reluctant parents, a defensive dean, and way too many unobservant witnesses, she finds a disturbing pattern of more “accidents” and more victims … Then finally Simon understands why his senses are on overload … and flips the investigation around.

I hate bullies! Just saying 🤨this plot is twisted and intense, the suspense and question marks at each stage had me gripped, I was completely invested in the final outcome. Villains need to realise Kate is like a dog with a bone, she won't give up until she's solved the case and with help from Simon and the team it will get solved. I love that she stands her ground even when she should maybe step back. That she is accepted and definitely a major team member and they all have her back now. I honestly wasn't sure if they would get to the bottom of this one, so many angles and events from previous years adding to confusion. Although I got one culprit sussed I didn't the rest. Dale has a wicked imagination and it twists and turns in mysterious ways somehow, you always are waiting for that next one to hit and I love it. Started 18/11/21 Finished 19/11/21
My Thoughts: I actually looked up if it would be possible to fire an ice bullet, and here is what I found: https://www.quora.com/Is-it-possible-.... The bottom line is, it is not beyond the realms of possibility. But, somebody needs to do a lot of research, work, and carry around a lot of materials to actually make the firing of an ice bullet plausible.
As usual this book is the same wonderful reading time as the last two books!
The narrator gave the same excellent interpretation of the book as she did before!

I’m really enjoying this series despite Kate 😬, I will say she’s slowly growing on me (like fungus), and I like the relationship she is building with the team and her partner, Rodney. The team calls her out about her workaholic ways and she’s starting to listen, she’s also slowly accepting a relationship with Simon and they are learning to trust each other despite their pasts and issues. This current case centered around bullying, suicidal ideations, and murder. It took a while for the team to connect Simon’s visions with the case + a bunch a bullies, however it’s a fast paced ride seeing the dots connect.
I am loving Dale Mayer's "Simon Says" series. "Why me ?", that is the chilling phrase that is giving Simon sleepless nights. Detective Kate Morgan was perplexed, a young girl had been knocked from her bicycle on the intersection close to the University of Columbia but was it an accident ? the facts didn't add up. As Kate dug further it became apparent that this was not the first such accident in the same spot, there had been many more always at the same time of the year, what on earth was happening ? why did Kate suspect a group of wealthy university bullies were involved, she had to tread carefully, they all had top lawyers on speed dial. Kate's boyfriend, psychic Simon St Laurant was having a rough time, he hated the fact that he had these psychic episodes, he had been able to help Kate in the past but he couldn't understand the increase in his olfactory and auditory senses, it was driving him mad, he couldn't make sense of it, did it have anything to do with Kate's latest deaths?. The body count increases and Kate is no closer to solving them. I love the relationship between Kate and Simon, she doesn't understand him and it scares her but she is inexplicably drawn to him, Simon is determined not to let Kate get away but is unsure of her. This story twists and turns, the suspects are many and the clues are few, an exciting "who done it" that keeps you guessing. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
TW//CW bullying, death, depression, drug abuse, murder, suicide
This series is becoming one of my favorite from Dale Mayer. Each book has their own crazy cases. This one starts with a hit and run case near the campus, it looks like a simple case, but then there's another victim and another victim that leads to another old cases with a lot of victims, then there are these ugly things that happening in the campus, then everything became complicated and twisted with lots suspects and there's this one suspect that makes me want to smack and kick his smugness. It's a police procedural story, so there's the tedious interviews, following leads, figuring the connections and motives. Then there's these moments that Kate kicking was that I really love. So yes, definitely love this page-turner thriller read.
As for Simon and Kate, loveeeeee the development of their relationship, although both still unsure and full of doubts, both getting closer and care more for each other, love their connection, it's like they always feel when the other is feeling down or in a bad situation, yup totally love that connection between them, it's just so sweet.
Twisted mystery with new psychic and powerful detective trying to save people, totally recommended.
Simon Says… Ride by Dale Mayer Kate Morgan Series Book Three Kate Morgan has plenty to keep her busy…murders. And the paperwork after they solve them. She gets so focused on solving them all that it’s hard to have personal time. But, since she met Simon, she could use a bit more personal time with him. Simon St. Laurent never wanted the burden of the “gift.” He saw what his grandmother went through with having it. But, some things aren’t up to us. So, now he needs to accept it and work with…since fighting it seems to do more harm than good. As Simon and Kate spend more time together, they learn to trust each other, which is a pretty big thing since neither of them are very trusting of others. Kate’s job keeps her busy, but it seems that Simon’s psychic abilities are connected to Kate’s cases. I’m really enjoying this series. It hits on some fundamental topics, not all easy ones. I always look forward to the next book in this series. **Sexual content and language https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Dale Mayer never ceases to enlighten me, show me the world from different points of view and entertain me. Simon is continuing fight with his psychic abilities as he is assaulted with intense smell. What that conjures up, oh my. Kate is still going full steam ahead in trying to solve cases and find justice. Rodney has become her partner more or less. He is a good balance for her. Speaking of balance, Simon and Kate are great as a couple, okay in the progress of becoming a couple. They bring clarity to each other, they give each other peace and when they are together I have a moment to catch my breath since Kate is always going full on. There are twists in this book, we see what anger does, accidents happen and lives are destroyed. We see bullying and the crowd mentality. I so wanted to see karma bite them in the tush. Thank you for the arc, for the enlightenment and the pure entertainment. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
This is book three in a new thriller series which has caught my attention for sure. From the first book where Kate is a new homicide detective with challenges in just joining this team to this story where she is more accepted. Her partner Rodney is a good detective and helps ground our devoted heroine in her never ending quest for answers. Then there is Simon, who is not officially on this team but has formed a friendship plus with Kate and is always coming up with a psychic connection that is never clear enough to do more than aim them in a direction rather than immediately solve the crime. This book covers bicycle accidents near a University that are becoming more of a connected concern but it's difficult to find the actual connection. The characters are developing a connection to us, the readers, as well. Well done and I'm excited to read the next book in the series which is given a slight description at the end of this story.
Detective Kate Morgan is working on another case that focuses on a cyclist who was killed at a major road intersection near the University of British Columbia. Initially, it was a hit and run but as more details became clear it was much more complicated than that. As for psychic Simon, he is blinded by enhanced senses and noises which is starting to impact his normal business day. As he cannot control when and where it all happens to him he is just feeling angry and frustrated. He tells Kate about it but she is unable to help which is fair considering that he cannot help himself. Kate struggles to work her way through a gang of arrogant and bullying University students who are wealthy and able to get away with everything. Add to that scenario a defensive Dea, unobservant witnesses and reluctant parents she starts to see a pattern that points her to more so-called accidents and the victims. Then Simon understands why his sense is on overload and the investigation gets flipped around this new information. Can Kate solve the case and can Simon help her to do that by catching the right person or people?
I really enjoyed this third book in the series. Kate was her usual self in her determination to protect the weak and punish the guilty. She also has shown no fear when it comes to the type and level of folks she is prepared to call out in order to get to the bottom of a case where she has seen that wrong has occurred. Poor Simon had a difficult time in this story as the effect on him was far more physical. Easy to read and understand, I was definitely invested in the case and finding out who was responsible so that they could be stopped as well as punished. It was easy to read and understand the story as well as the thoughts and emotions of the characters. Contains some sexual content.

Case wise this was a 4.5. I think the bit with Pamela got to be a little bit much. The whole maids thing was just not even needed.
Kate & Simon’s relationship was much better in this one than the last for me. The last one felt like her pushing him away because she hates the psychic bit and really blaming him for being one. This one was much improved on that. It felt more like her own issues trying to walk away. Simon not giving her an inch is fantastic.
I do think the ending was all a bit abrupt. Took all these pages to get anywhere and then in about 20 we solve multiple crimes and send off the bad guys and then just go off for a walk.
My main issue with this though was the constant overlong conversations about how people are so horrible. Kate gets like this in all the books. But this one I felt it just kept coming back to it. And back to it. And back to it. While long sections was just the team talking about how to manage the job and life even though people are horrible. Then it was with Simon too. So much time spent dwelling on it when I wanted to see actual detective work. I mean yeah we get it y’all have jobs because humans are evil. And mentioning it here and there is one thing. But it felt so constant in this one it drove me to skim over things to get to the actual case. Some of the facts of the case that came up there was not a lot of context to outside of that in apparently was about one of the 5 accidents. Or maybe not? I don’t know. Just mentions of fathers and children and husbands. I don’t really know what it all was. I want to see stronger emphasis on the actual police work. And once again Kate when dealing with witnesses just barks out half a dozen questions in a single breath. If I was being questioned by her I would probably not even know how to answer her when she’s barking all that out! 🤣

As Kate and her partner Rodney begin the investigation of a woman cyclist seeming hit by a passing motorist. Simon gets a vision of not one but five bicycles. It's not a surprise to Kate since Rodney's already come up with the fact there have been five cyclists killed on this day in the last five years. Not exactly something he wanted to find but definitely relevant.
Simon begins his day as he frequently does, stopping to give much needed cash to some very worthy places. First a shelter of sorts, then a community church and finally a food center. While those stops lifted his spirits the same cannot be said for his projects. Supply problems have them going off schedule and adding to the cost of the rehabs. Finished he stopped to eat, but the overwhelming smells had him getting his meal to go. At home the headline about the accident near the collage catches his eye and he wonders if that's Kate's new case. He murmurs the word 'Traffic' and looks out the window over the city when the vision hits. As always it doesn't tell him much at all.
In the meantime, Kate has dealt with witnesses including a group of students seemly unconcerned about the seriousness of the situation. Something feels off about this case and she can't seem to pinpoint why.
She takes a call from Simon and he doesn't like the way she sounds.
Plenty of strangeness to this case, and far more to it than Kate even imagined.
This one kept me at the edge of my seat as the investigation heats up and twists in some very interesting ways. Then of course there's Simon and his visions that do more than a little for the investigation and the solving of it.
I love Simon and Kate, I just hope she manages to stay with him. They are fun, intriguing and when they come together, they sizzle off the pages.
Detective Kate Morgan is a driven detective in this thriller by Dale Mayer. Simon is the complicated man Kate is dating who has unusual psychic abilities that he still hasn't quite come to grips with. When a young college coed seemingly killed in an accident with a motor vehicle while riding her bike in big city/college campus traffic, Kate and her partner Rodney are put on the case. When the cause of death is not at all as it appears, a game of cat and mouse ensues. On one side, we have the arrogant Brandon and his posse of college punks who think they are above the law with what they consider to be harmless pranks. On the other, we have multiple victims who have died each year at the same traffic circle and in the same vehicle versus auto scenario. Has the killer advanced his method or is there something more sinister at play? Adding to the possibilities is Simon's psychic connection to someone and his physical reactions to something that has gone haywire, making things very challenging. Can Simon and Kate figure out what the connection between her case and his issues are before more people die? With three bodies in less than a week, they'll have to work fast. Well written, fast-paced and great interwoven plots along with well-developed characters make this book in the Kate Morgan Series a winner. Highly recommended.
This series just keeps getting better. There's a new case in Kate's lap and she, along with her team, are running ragged trying to get answers. Meanwhile Simon is having new issues with his gift/curse that are having quite an impact on him. I really enjoyed this one. The case is complex and twisted. I love the dogged determination Kate has with her job. Simon is probably my favorite character. I wish Kate would open up more and lose some of her defenses. I enjoy the fact that their relationship is progressing but I find Kate frustrating in this aspect of the story. I also am hoping for something to happen with Simon's ex. That could be resolved a few ways and I'm looking forward to it. Each book gets more interesting and has me more invested in these characters. I can't wait for the next one!
Honestly I don't know how Kate and the other Detectives do their job with all they come against, but I love seeing her becoming more a part of the team and opening herself up a bit more along with her and Simon coming together more. There were so many threads to pull in this one and deaths that didn't seem to be connected, but somehow they were so while slowly working out how things connect and all the resistance Kate and the others come against we get a clearer picture. I felt so sorry for Simon with the symptoms he was going through which also bought up the memories of his Grandmother and how he should have listened to her more instead of pushing against what she had to say. Seeing the work Kae and the others do and how the information that Simon provides weaves together to help solve the case.

Detective Kate Morgan has spent the weekend with her friend Simon but now its back to work.Simon is having dreams with missing pieces and his sense of smell is really off he doesn't know what the messages mean he wishes he'd have learned things from his grandmother but he didn't want the gift but now he has it he doesn't know how to react to it.When Kate is called to a hit an run accident with a fatality she doesn't know why she was called until she finds the woman was shot in the head.As she asked her partner to check on hit an runs in the same area he's not sure what she's thinking but does as she asks. They have something sick going on here there a see so many twists an turns you ai!l be riveted until the very last page an Lea e you begging for more.
I love this series. Simon is psychic that is struggling with his gift. Kate is a homicide detective that doesn’t believe in psychics. Neither of them is looking for a partner, but they find themselves drawn to each other. Although Simon gets visions or in this book his senses are amplified, he doesn’t know what it means. From past cases, Kate knows that Simon visions relate to her case, but she does not know how. As you read this story, you think that you understand who is responsible for the murders. Then you find out it was not as simple as you thought. If you are looking for a murder mystery with twists and turns, then this is the book for you.

However, Ms.Mayer, yet again I made myself stay awake! Dear lord, your ming is am amazing thing. Simon and Kate with not one mystery but Two completely different situations for the Vancouver Police Department, specifically Kate, with help from Simon and her very cool partner. WOW! So much to say, but even more frightening, the minds of the individuals, particularly a young person getting their kicks? Another thinking it's all justified because of one incidence with the help of someone completely unexpected... You blew me away again! Kate and Simon have become as addictive as your Physic Vision Series, only six weeks to go.. However,Kate and Simon are amazing! Sooooooo ... NEXT ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (forever from now 😢)
I really enjoyed this audio book. Someone told me this was the first book in the series, but I should have double checked the info. I realized when listening to parts of both Simon and Kate's story, there was probably info in previous books that I missed.
I loved that while some of the culprits were obvious in this book, others didn't become apparent until almost the end. Even as I ventured further into the book there were things I suspected but had yet confirmed them in my mind.
The book was full of suspense and intrigue. I liked Kate's partner, Rodney. Even Simon's not so informative visions and scents added to the suspense. The Simon/Kate developing relationship also added a lightness to the book.
Kate and Simon had developed a relationship. He is a great businessman, and Kate is still a hound dog finding justice for the victims.
I like this journey as Kate is finding acceptance in her position as a detective in her department. Her coworkers depend on Simon's help, but Kate is still not sure about his abilities. It terrifies her when Simon has a vision in her presence, as this is new territory for her.
Cyclists get hit all the time in cities, but this time, was it an accident, or was it murder? And if it was murder, who did it? And again, it is linked to many other so-called accidents, but were they murders?
Like an onion, many layers need to be revealed and peeled back to find out the truth. And it is a shocker.
The 3rd instalment in this enthralling series, follows a series of bicycle accidents among the University crowd.
A group of arrogant self entitled students seem to think they can run roughshod over those they consider to be 'less'. The bullying takes a sinister turn when they appear to be endangering their fellow students for nothing more that shits and giggles!!
Simon once again finds himself in the middle of Kate's investigation, all whilst experiencing enhance senses. His smell and taste has dramatically increased for no obvious reason.
A Must read if you enjoy twists and turns and surprising a surprising amount of angst.
In the third book of this four book series, Kate"s life is improving. Her relationships with her fellow detectives has gotten slightly better while she and Simon can't keep their hands off of each other.
Kate"s newest case looks to be a simple traffic accident until the coroner takes a look and finds a gun shot wound in the victim"s head. Turns out there have been similar "accidents" on the same date and in the same location yearly for the last five years and all of the victims were riding a bicycle.
Intriguing mystery with multiple miscues and surprising twists. Well done!
I was drawn in from the very beginning . This is the third story in the Kate Morgan Thriller . Kate and Simon are drawn into a new case . Simon is having a difficult time figuring out the strange signs and smells he is getting and how it ties to Kate's cases . The further into the cases Kate gets the more intense and twisted it gets . This story is sensational . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Like in all the Simon Say's books Simons psychic episodes are directly related to the murder case that Kate is working on. In Simon Says Ride Kate is called into a hit and run and soon finds out that that there have been more hit and runs around the collage campus in the last few years. Also there is a gang of collage students harassing handicapped students at the same corner as the hit and runs. Simon is having heightened sensory attacks. How are all of these related, and can Kate figure it out in time to stop another murder.

Simon says Ride is the third book in this hot new series. Detective Kate Morgan is hot on a new confusing case. A cyclist is killed at the main intersection to the University of British Columbia. Simon is blinded by an overload of senses and noises. It’s impacting his regular business day, and he seems unable to control when and how these moments occur. As Kate and Simon navigate through things become more clear. They must work fast to catch a killer before they strike again.
This was another thrilling addition to this wonderful series. Kate and Simon are back with another case that will keep you guessing and anxiously turning those pages while searching for answers. The writing is well done, the main characters complex and likable and the mystery and suspense smartly crafted. I loved it and am already looking forward to book 4. I am posting an independent, impartial review.
A student has been killed in a seemly hit an run accident but there seems to be a lot more to it all. More accidents are happening and his mind is getting overwhelmed with voices. He will soon realise why and now they need to find the connections between all the accidents. Who is behind them? What are they doing it? Can they be stopped? See just how they get to what is really going on

I think Simon and Stefan Kronos should meet. Stefan would point him in the right direction. Simon is trying to get a handle on his psychic abilities as they keep changing. Kate has more murders on her plate and comes across some college students that think they can get away with anything. This one does not touch on such tough subject matter as the other 2 but can still trigger feelings.

Wow, another brilliant tale in this new series. I love it when I can't work it out and am constantly surprised. This one had more than one crime going, were they connected and how? Like a jigsaw puzzle with just the edge pieces the author slowly put this one together. The characters are fantastic, the ones you love and love to hate. The plot was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed this intriguing tale of mystery.
As the series goes along the relationship between Kate and Simon keeps growing. As does Kate’s relationships with her team. I had a hard time putting this book down. The closer Kate got to solving the case the faster I wanted to read it.
