Vicious and bloody, this novelette focuses on the devestating destruction of a village by savages and their demon partners.

DARK SEED, the fifth SKITTERS story from horror author Nick Harper, is his first true foray into fantasy. THE KILN-FIRED HEART and MAISIE GIBSON REMEMBERS HELL both toyed with fantasy tropes and settings, but at their heart they were closer to fairy tales. Not DARK SEED. No, this one has ships and sentry towers and battles galore. Once again, Harper employs his signature descriptive writing to really paint a picture of the carnage so that it drips from the page.
Plus, that River Queen stuff... I love anything that gives us more peeks into the Harper-verse.
