Rules— we set them in place to govern ourselves accordingly. However, Autumn Coleman’s long list has trapped her in a life of academics, with little time for anything else. Conflict arises when Avery Richards enters the picture, shaking up everything Autumn thought she knew.Blessing Richards thought she had the perfect man Loving. Carefree. Ambitious. But one wrong move has her questioning the decisions she’s made that have led her to this point. No longer is she living in a blissful paradise she once called home. Will Autumn allow Avery to push her out of her comfort zone and teach her everything she never never knew about love or will she stick to the rules and miss out on the chance of a lifetime?
Caged tells two parallel love stories about four new adults navigating their way through life. "People think love is what gets you through the tough times in a relationship. But people can fall in and out of love every day. Once you give that person your trust, you can't lose it easily unless you deliberately fucked it up. Trust and communication go hand in hand, and love follows. Once you break either one, what foundation do you have left to solidify your relationship? A temporary emotion with multiple interpretations of what it means or looks like?" In this story we are introduced Autumn, Avery, Blessing and Priest. Their situations and circumstances are the polar opposite of normal and will have most readers drawn in from the start of the book.
Autumn Coleman is your typical good girl, excelling and achieving in school and trying to be the best big sister and daughter she can be. "Autumn was definitely a catch. She was going to school to study to become a doctor. She was a good girl. It was a bonus that she was also a virgin. Nobody could say they touched her. She truly was a rare diamond in a rhinestone world." While heading to the library she runs in to Avery (like sis really ran into him), and her life was changed forever. Initially Autumn views Avery as a distraction, but even she can't deny the connection that is between them. Her mother, Dina, has taught her many valuable lessons, but it's one that stands out the most as her and Avery get closer. "Mama was right, Autumn thought as she pulled off. Niggas ain't shit." Avery's nonchalant attitude may ruin everything Autumn hoped would be.
Blessing Richards is only eighteen years old, but she knows what she feels for Priest is love. If only she could get him to provide the consistency she needed. "He pursued her and best believe, he was gon' treat her how she needed to be treated. She wasn't a bitch. She was that bitch and Priest better recognize before it's too late. Fuck around and lose out on his blessing." But Priest's sketchy actions is due to a secret he's been keeping, a secret that could very much be the last straw, as far as Blessing is concerned.
This author pens a story that is so captivating, so intriguing, so jaw-dropping, that I felt as if it was my first read by her. The fact the book takes place in my hometown, New Orleans, made me enjoy the story that much more. Even though this story is technically a love story, there are urban undertones, there's nothing boring about it. There's lies, deception, secrets and so much more. The author does have a trigger warning at the beginning of the book, but nothing in it was cringeworthy, in my opinion at least. This book does end on a cliffhanger and we are currently waiting on the next installment (I know that's important for some of you guys to know), but I will be front and center when the next book is released. Great job Kaige Keira! I can't wait to read more of your future work!
This by far my favorite out of this author’s work. Usually everything is so dark and twisted with a murder sprinkled here and there.
She chose a different route and it was amazing. After every page I couldn’t wait to get to the next. Blessings and Avery two young girls who never connected to any females saw something in each other. They became quick besties and begin to navigate life woes together.
Avery and Priest are the guys on the other side of these ladies woes. Priest leaves Blessing completely torn apart by allowing his past to ruin what they have. Avery allows his no good ex to come between him and what Autumn is building. Which leaves Autumn to give her attention to another young man by the name of Chicago who has been eyeing her. Who is the better choice though because things are not always what they seem with men. Come twist and turn in these pages with Kaige.
This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I didn't know their would be a cliffhanger 😩 but luckily for me the next installment comes out soon. There was a lot going on in this book but it was written well and easy to follow. Some - many - people need to be slapped in my opinion 😂😂 and I'm looking forward to seeing how everything is going to play out.
So, this was the first book that I’ve read by this author and I am definitely looking forward to reading book two. The book was written very well and had a lot of drama going on. I loved Avery and Autumn’s relationship and hope that they can be together, but that ending has me unsure. I’d definitely recommend reading this book.
Caged by Kaige Keira is a heartbreaking and interesting story. This is my first time reading from Kaige Keira. She does a good job. Trust and communication are important for everybody.
Autumn is a intelligent and caring woman. She is adorable and love her sister and her mom. She is mature and respectful than her sister Tori. Tori is disrespectful, selfish, ungrateful, and immature. She’s always complaining about her sister and everything. Hopefully, there isn’t anything happening to Autumn.
Mark and Yvonne are something else. They’re not good people. Tori should listen to Mark’s mother about them. She believes that they’re good friends to her but they’re doing something behind her back. Tori should leave them alone and go back to her family.
Avery will not allow Yvonne ruining his relationship with Autumn. Avery is Autumn’s first adulthood relationship. Priest allows his past to ruining his relationship with Blessing. He has lacking of communication and ungrateful to Blessing.
I enjoyed reading this book. I want to read more books from this author. I can’t wait to read part two of Caged.

Wow. Just wow. That's all I keep repeating after finishing this book. There are just so many things going on! Autumn is a sweetheart, although too naive and a little overbearing when it comes to her little sister. I feel bad for little sis because her mom should have gotten her some therapy and all of them in family counseling years ago. She's really just a hurting baby and I feel bad that she's being manipulated by so many people. Avery is sexy af and I think Autumn is good for him although I agreed with her when she was going off about loyalty to family, I didn't like how he moved with her & her sis or Blessing & Priest. Blessing is a sweetheart and I love how she and Autumn connected and formed a tight friendship. Priest effed up bad and Blessing's breaking point...🥺😢 I was so sad! Their biggest issue is communication. On both their parts. I think they will get it together in the end, but time and space are necessary at this point. Now the other idiots in the story, Mark, Yvonne, Chicago, Larenz, Marissa...all of them can walk into traffic!🙄 Thanks to these fools, I already know Book 2 is gonna start off on 10! Don't make us wait too long, this story was great and has me fiending for more!
Ok. Where do I start, this book was good and so different from The Twisted Family. I loved Autumn she was a breath of fresh air compared to some female characters I've read about. I feel for Blessing and wished she could have found a better way to deal with her heartbreak. I hope that Priest learn how to communicate in book 2. Now for those two dummies Mark and Yvonne I hope they get caught before they can harm Autumn.
Hopefully I wont have to wait long for Part 2 I already know its gonna be good.
This was such a good book! I was in a drought and it pulled me out. I really like Blessing and Autumn and their burgeoning friendship. Priest really made a mess of things. Avery irked me staying out of their business because it really hurt Blessing in the long run. There is still so much drama beneath the surface waiting to be revealed and I am here for it!
Caged is the story of two sisters Autumn and Tori who seemingly are of tow separate paths. However as different characters enter their lives , the question is are their paths so far off? This story was engaging from the start and really keeps the attention of the reader until the very end. What a ride!
Should I curse and carry on now or what?! So far you technically didn’t live up to your name Killer Kaige but it was a cliffhanger! Now once again I am waiting. Lol I recommend you read this but be ready to be upset.
This is my first time reading a book by this author. It was very good. I love how Autumn is not letting no man rush her into having sex. The drama in this book I love. I like Avery for her.
These young couples are having a hard time navigating life and relationships. Then there's the family issues with fathers missing in action. And the other family issues where there's competition and betrayal. I can't fathom how this will end; it's a lot to take in.
I bought and read this exciting novel in a few hours today. On to the next book in the Caged series. I have to find out what happens to Autumn Coleman and her bestie Blessing Richards.
This was my first read by this author. She came out the gate swinging. I loved this storyline from beginning to end. I can’t wait for part 2. Great job.
Although the story was pretty good, I hate cliffhangers with a passion. Editing was needed to clear up a few problems in the story. Overall, the story was a nice read.
It was interesting from the very beginning. Things started to surface about the different types of relationships. Lies, deceit, drugs, cheating and now a murder. Wow
This book was good from start to finish it left me wanting to read more & more so many questions unanswered but in a good way can’t wait for the next book
Shout out to the 504!!! This is the first book that I have read by this author, and it was great. The characters were relatable. The storyline was what people live everyday. There's a plot twist with some fathering, that I can't wait to dive into in the next installment. I really like Blessing and would love to see her come out on top. I cannot stand Asha, and if she's such a grown woman, she wouldn't be so petty. I hope that Mark and Yvonne get everything that they deserve; nobody is falling for Yvonne having a change of heart. Yvonne is just suffering from empty pocket syndrome. All I'm going to say about Tori is that she is naive, jealous, and misguided. She is really loved by Autumn and her mother, but she is too busy comparing herself to see it. Lies, drugs, sex, greed, where will it all lead? Hopefully we'll find out in the sequel.
Awesome book… mark and Yvonne need to be caught ASAP. Lord Blessing was going through it. Priest I love him but I also can’t stand him 😂😂😂😂. This book is really good. Must read you will not be disappointed
