Recently released prisoners, Gary Rhodes and Leon Brady, need a new enterprise to keep them in cash. The thriving human trafficking business seems like an easy gig—snatch and grab unsuspecting teenage girls with the help of their own girlfriends, Claire Usher and Hope Daniels. Because the two spoiled rich girls are easily bored, risks are taken, and mistakes begin to happen.

FBI agents Jade Monroe and her partner, Lorenzo DeLeon, along with two other seasoned agents are tasked to South Dakota and Wyoming, where a handful of girls have been snatched without a trace or a single witness.

As days pass and the FBI closes in on the culprits, the kidnappers panic and victims begin to die. With only one girl left to deliver and the FBI hot on the kidnappers trail, a harrowing chase ensues through Colorado’s backcountry. The FBI needs to stop them before the last girl dies or possibly disappears forever.

About the author

C.M. Sutter was born in San Jose, California and split time between the sunny California coast and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a senior in high school, she chose Wisconsin as her permanent address. After many years in the Badger State, she decided on a warmer year-round climate to call home and moved south.
Years of progression took her from working in large companies, to twelve years as a massage therapist, and finally, owning a corporation. She has been self-employed for over twenty years.
Ms. Sutter has been writing and self-publishing since 2014 with eleven titles published in a different genre. Because of her deep interest in crime and thriller novels, she took up writing in the police procedural/crime thriller genre in 2016.

Directional Maze

This story is like twisting around and around. After a while I gave up trying to figure out what city and what state everyone was in. I skimmed through the book to get the gist of the story. I think traffickers should get the death sentence.

Blood Trail - Book 2

An inaccurate catch phase attributed to an old TV show, "Just the facts, Ma'am," is the way I would describe "Blood Trail: A Terrifying FBI Kidnap Thriller," Book 2. It is a 'just the facts story. Personally, I really enjoyed the book. The details of the investigation will keep you on edge, as the lives of innocent young girls and women are at stake. -Mr.Bill

Some very nasty people - men and women - human trafficking is one of the worst criminal acts, and this book delves into it.

Blood Trail: A Terrifying FBI Kidnap Thriller, by C. M. Sutter, is a well written story about kidnapping & sex trafficking.

Hope & Claire are entitled young adults get mixed up with two recently released ex-cons. Gary & Leon.

Gary & Leon, who were in the same prison, have decided the best way to earn a living is by kidnapping young ladies and selling them to a 'dealer' in the sex trafficking trade. Gary & Leon con Hope & Claire into helping them, while all Hope & Claire wanted was some fun.

Agents Jade Monroe & Lorenzo "Renz" DeLeon are assigned the case. Two other agents are already working on the case but in Milwaukee where another few young ladies have disappeared.

Hope & Claire both need to be bent over their dad's and spanked till they grow up and realize they're no better than any other person. Gary & Leon are scum, pure & simple. Unfortunately, Claire & Hope are actively involved in the other kidnappings as they engage the to be kidnapped girls and push them into the box truck & Gary's & Leon's waiting arms.

Blood Trail was an engrossing read. Gary was well written, selfish, greedy but with a little depth to him. Claire & Hope were written as nothing more than self-centered, entitled, "Everything's all about me" young ladies.

Blood in the Bayou, the first book in this series, was too gory, disgusting, intense, and creepy. I almost didn't read Blood Trail as I expected it to be just as gory & creepy. Blood Trail was much less gory & creepy but just as strong and engrossing story.

TL;DR
I liked the book and it's characters. The story doesn't do anything you don't expect it to do. No twists or unexpected things happen but the ending didn't dissapoint me either. I had a good time reading this book.


My Scoring System
I have five things I look for in a book, if the book checks all five it's a 5/5 stars book, if it checks none it's a 1/5 stars and everything else is a combination:

✓ - Main Story: No twists or unexpected things happend but an enjoyable story in my opinion.

X - Side Stories (if it applies):

✓ - Characters: I liked all the characters present here. I liked our main protagonist and her partners in crime. A hint at a romance was present that thankfully wasn't explored and it didn't disturb my reading.

X - Setting/Ambiance: Nothing special just the landscapes of the United States.

✓ - Ending: I'm satisfied with the ending, there was no twist or big reveal. But it didn't feel dissapointing.

Considering my previous crime story was Gone Cold this is leagues ahead in terms of how it was written and how I enjoyed the story and I still think it's just okay, nothing amazing. But a good crime story to read.

Excellent!

Blood Trail moves at a good pace to get you to the good stuff. This isn't a graphically violent or horrifying violent acts for shock value. It is a well told story of 2 men and their 2 female companions that have no qualms about kidnapping young teen girls and young women in their 20's and selling them to a trafficking ring. When the FBI gets involved it takes them across many states to find the people involved in selling vulnerable young women and bring them to answer for these heinous crimes. I could not stop reading this well developed FBI thriller. I highly recommend Blood Trail!

I almost put this one down...but I was on holiday and I only had time for a few minutes a day, so I persisted...it was good enough to help me wind down at night and bored me enough to put me to sleep quickly. I found the characters so stereotypical...the bad guys and the rich spoiled girls. The only character I found interesting was Claire because of her resourcefulness, though she certainly was not likeable. The whole story was a slow speed chase, with so much travelling route this and highway that....it was not very exciting. But I finished. Not memorable or remarkable in any way.

Outstanding

This book has a little bit of everything. If you like mysteries with twists and turns and exciting plot changes this is for you. It has murder kidnapping police chases and more. It is a rainy Sat. morning I started reading this book it held my interest so I had to finish it which I did. If all the Jade Monroe books are as good and interesting as this one this series will be a big hit. The characters and plot were outstanding.

A long chase

Human trafficking is a growing problem. Two ex=cons and two spoiled brats thought it was a good idea to kidnap young girls. The buyer had a big ranch where he held the girls until they were sold. FBI agents were trying to track the movement of the kidnappers, but found themselves traveling through several states without capture.
The book was ok but I did not get the urge to read nonstop.

Good read with fast paced action throughout

The characters were easily identifiable with their flaws and vulnerabilities. Jade Monroe describes the crimes and how they tackle the case very well.
I felt there was perhaps less believable development of the two main girls' fall into very serious crimes based on their backgrounds and upbringings. That post 1 star for me. However it was a read that was hard to put down. Well worth it

Jade and her team, always getting the job done! This one was extra special being situated in my home grounds! I was born and raised in that area and loved reading all the familiar highways and towns. Human trafficking has become a BIG enterprise across the country. There are some terribly heartwrenching stories being told. Great story.

Amazing how someone with a lot of money, would think they could not be held accountable for murder, kidnapping or any other crime. What a wake up call for them and their parents. Once again spoiling the child by the parents, gives them no moral compass to make decisions.

Some unnecessary blasphemy that always loses a star, and some grammatical errors moved towards the loss of a second one. The story, itself, was sometimes difficult to follow, and had the usual "padding". Do I really need to know what everybody is eating?

Well, the first book got me and so I read #2. This one was enough to make me go on to #3. The only complaint I have is there needs to be more character development. The story telling certainly keeps my interest, but I don't feel I get to know the characters. Not even the main repeating ones.

Read this book in just a few hours. I appreciate how the author deals with the plight of human trafficking. She brings to light how to tell our children to be aware of their surroundings and talking to people they don't know. Reminding parents how important it is to communicate with our kids.
