Will an unexpected bucket list change Hannah and Gabe’s lives forever?
Hannah will never fall in love again. That's what she tells herself after she catches her ex in bed with another woman. But when her best friend sends her a cryptic email, Hannah is forced to face the real reason she's been hiding from love and life.
Gabe has sworn off relationships for good. His cheating fiancé made sure he'd never risk his heart again. But when he saves a woman on a runaway bike, she reminds him love is worth the risk.
Will Hannah and Gabe put aside the past and let love into their lives? A crazy bucket list might just be the trick that gets them both back on track.
Dear Pink is a modern love story certain to make you laugh. Perfect for fans of Christina Lauren, Sally Thorne, and Abby Jimenez.
3.5⭐ Genre ~ contemporary romance Series ~ Dear Pink #1 Setting ~ Texas Publication date ~ April 13, 2021 Est Page Count ~ 268 (p+ 26 chapters +e) Audio length ~ 9 hours 11 minutes Narrator ~ Virtual Voice POV ~ dual 1st person POV, present tense Featuring ~ cheating exes, grief, loss of friend to cancer in past, super duper frustrating character, lack of communication, some steamage
Hannah (25) & Gabe (29) initially meet on an elevator at her job, but by the time they see each other again she has had a makeover so he doesn't recognize her. Neither are looking for a relationship anyway since they were both cheated on in the past, but neither can stop thinking about each other either.
Hannah's bff, Libby, died of breast cancer and left Hannah a bucket list to complete. The list is a way for Hannah to step out of her comfort zone and do things that Libby never got to. One thing on the list is to complete a 100 mile bike ride....in Texas! No wonder it's called the HotterN' Hell race. She begins training for it and that's when she sees Gabe again.
Gabe was a nice fella. He's a big time bike rider, so I'd expect his legs to be rock hard like his abs. I'm happy we had his point of view. He has 6 interesting sisters that livened up the story and it seems the rest of the series will follow them.
Overall, I love the list concept and how Hannah ticked everything off with gusto, however I did not care for how she handled it when it came to Gabe. She was very immature and I just didn't understand her rational one bit. The communication was nonexistent. She frustrated me over and over and over again, so I wasn't a big fan of her. However, there were some fun and touching moments.
✔️ed another old one off the list 🙌
Narration notes: I did not listen to this one, but am just giving the info above for reference.
We had such a fun time writing this second book. Like our first one, Wrong Guy, Right Room, our main character, Hannah, deals with grief (this time with the help of a bucket list her best friend leaves behind). But this romantic comedy is filled with humor and romance. Thankfully, Hannah meets a man who can be her partner in this next stage of life and love.
Dear Pink is a modern love story certain to make you laugh. Perfect for fans of Christina Lauren, Sally Thorne, and Abby Jimenez.
I really enjoyed Dear Pink. It's the story of a woman who had her heart broken in a relationship and then her best friend dies of cancer. The 'twist' is her best friend leaves her a bucket list that pushes the main character, Hannah, out of her comfort zone, and ultimately leads her to finding a man that she wants to love, but instead, runs from.
I really liked all the characters in the book, and I LOL'd at the part with the crazy cat lady who's trying to seduce Gabe, a vet. Hannah and Gabe have a believable attraction to each other and Hannah continues to find ways to sabotage a good thing because of her fear of being hurt again, and also her fear of being exposed as a fraud since many of the things Gabe admires are things she is doing only because of her dead friend's 'bucket list'. This is actually one of the better rom-com's I've read in a while, and from two INDIE authors! (Way to go, Girls!) I highly recommend for a beach read, summer read, or anytime you just want to escape into the fun, 'pink bike', love-story world of two highly relatable and likeable people.
Thank you @netgalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for an arc of Dear Pink by Michelle Angelle in exchange for an honest review. 🤍
Dear Pink is a sweet and cute read, a breath of fresh air from the past 2 holiday romance novels I have read (but I think I want more Christmas reads, I'm feeling the vibes now and it's only October). It tells the story of Hannah, who has sworn of love and relationships, navigating through the loss of her best friend, Libby. Libby leaves Hannah a bucket list to complete, to help Hannah find herself and be more confident.
As Hannah goes through her bucket list, she meets Gabe and their relationship grows. She is welcomed by Gabe's crazy and hilarious family (and oh I love them!) and I especially loved Libby - we all need someone like her in our lives to break us out of our comfort zones and bring about the best of us.
I really enjoyed Dear Pink and I'm rating it ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5
Despite our main character’s best friend writing letters from the dead, this is a light hearted read. The authors sprinkles bits of humor within each chapter that has me laughing out loud. The language is just really fun. Early examples (so no spoilers) are “holy tomatoes”, “crawling around like an intoxicated animal” and our main character getting hammered while trying on clothes and dancing in the street. I really liked the cute phrasing and wild antics.
I will say that this book is dangerously cheesy. It was like reading a sitcom or Disney channel show. All the characters talk way more flamboyant than typical people, dress brightly colored and odd and everyone is so dramatic. Mostly the people around our heroine are rooting for her and way too helpful to lend a hand. No real person is like that. Even our snarky, not nice characters feel almost like comic book villains. The pace is incredibly fast as well. Just in the first chapter you go from a car, to a guy twirling our girl in a hallway and to a break up scene with things flying and over the top banter. It is A LOT.
What are you looking for in a book? I can see where a lot of people would LOVE this easy, fun style because it is hilarious and keeps you guessing. There are cute characters, fun dialogue and the bucket list has you eager for what happens next because you know it will be bigger and more dramatic. However, if you are looking for a realistic, heart wrenching story, this will be a disappointment. Just know what you are getting. Are you expected to sit down to a well balanced meal and get all your essential vitamins? You aren’t getting that. You are getting a big, moist, fluffy cake that is going to go down easy and have you looking back fondly at it.
Dear Pink is a fun fast paced Rom Com that I didn’t want to put down. Hannah and Gabe are both adorably clueless at dating which makes you want them to get together even more.
Hannah needs to find herself first and with the help of her best friend’s bucket list she makes fun changes that make you like her more...unless she’s biking away from someone instead of riding toward them.
And Gabe. Maybe I’m a sucker for the gentle giant type but he is the guy you want to get a happily ever after ending with his true love. Especially as the only boy in a family with six meddling sisters.
The authors make the supporting characters in their books as interesting as the main characters so there is always comical banter going on.
The sweet and sometimes a little steamy book is a must read especially if you are a fan of riding bikes and saving animals.
Adorable bike-riding romance between an artist and a veterinarian! He has a quirky fun Italian family filled with love and lots of shared meals. She has a dead best friend pushing her to new adventures through a long to-do list. They keep bumping into each other and eventually get it together!
This was such a cute and heartwarming rom-com with a little spice mixed in. The characters were lovable. Definitely ones you get attached to from the beginning.
Humor, suspense, a sexy guy, and, of course, love — a rom-com indeed! It’s a love story so I was pretty sure I knew the ending, but it’s the writing that made me smile and laugh, sigh and pine, and held my interest until the end. A trip that, as the authors’ website states, is smart and sassy. There is an inspiring author’s note at the end, explaining that novel is about grief and loss, and it gives some encouraging help for bereavement. But I would like to add my own note, that the story is also about supporting, stepping up and claiming personal value, facing fears, pursuing dreams — and romance.

Dear Pink de Michelle Angelle
Argumento:
I received a copy of this book from the author(s) in exchange for my honest opinion. This story was a cute, modern-day romance that made me wish I had someone in my life like Gabe. If you like adorable romances with touches of humor then this book would be perfect for you. For my full review click here: https://likelystory.blog/2021/07/06/r...
A cute story with sprinkles of humor and light hearted love between two people to whom life happened.
Betrayed by their exes both Hannah and Gabe navigate through life, until repeated encounters sparkled a romance between them.
Added to that was a bucket list left by her dead best friend with 6 tasks to be completed in order.
My first book by author Michelle Angelle, this was cute with a bit of angst. I loved how the author managed to assimilate the different shades of life in it. Family from Gabe’s side with 6 sisters had me smiling. Hannah with her makeovers and a new zest for life had me cheering for her.
The writing was slightly long, could have been made sharper with zingy lines. Emotions needed the depth, but this was supposed to be a light-hearted comedy as written in the tagline so I shouldn’t complain. Some of the incidents were over the top, maybe comedies were so.
I needed a change in genre, and this was it! Besides this reminded me of my friend who is actually called pinky pink.
Dear Pink is a beautifully written story of friendship, loss, love, doubt, confidence, courage, humor and happiness. The story touched my heart while reading about sensitive Gabe wanting to understand Hannah who is uncertain about love. I had tears when their lives would come together in tender moments; then separate again. I cried and laughed. A perfect balance of funny, sharp, clever dialogue of the six teasing Russo sisters, colorful Tonya and Libby who wanted her friend to believe in herself through the bucket list. I was easily pulled into the story that I wanted to adopt two puppies and a little kitten; the pets are adorable.
It’s brilliant how the authors create a story with engaging keen characters that I want to be friends with them. I enjoyed this romantic, sexy, funny book tremendously and look forward to their next book.
Love, love this sweet romance! I am here for Mr. Fancy -- he is hot and doesn't know it, loves his MANY sisters, loves the animals he cares for as a vet, and rides around on a bike!!! Yes, please! Pink is a character that feels real both because of her flaws and her growth. Without spoiling too much, the idea of a best friend reaching out from the beyond to help and push Pink to be who she is deep down is touching and makes me want to write myself a list. Thank you Michelle Angelle for this sweet romance that has just the right amount of heat and heart.
It’s not fair that I have to work instead of reading romance books all day. I just finished Dear Pink by Michelle Angelle and found out that this is book one of two in a series. I’ve never read a story by Ms. Angelle before, but I can enthusiastically say I LOVED it. I’m so passionately in love with what I just read that I simply have to read book two. I know I sound overzealous about Dear Pink, but even the book title has me feeling excited.
The plot is original and clever which is a major factor in my becoming enamored with this book. The paramount reasons that made this book so awesome include there being a prologue starting six years prior which captured my interest, the fast and steady pace kept my attention all the way through, and it ends with an epilogue six years later. I adore romance stories that come all wrapped up with a pretty bow like that.
I always appreciate when a synopsis doesn’t give away the entire plot of a story. The best gift an author can give me is a laugh or two within the story. The element of humor in a romance will seal the deal with me every time. I can’t remember the last book that had me chuckling while reading. Laughter is a major factor for me, and not enough romance books supply it.
The laughter came from the hero and heroine. Gabe is the best hero because he was strong and vulnerable. I love a sensitive, vulnerable yet strong hero. I relate to that type of hero the best. Hannah, the heroine, was more vulnerable in my opinion but has a ‘never give up’ attitude. Together they complete each other. Their weaknesses become their strengths. Hannah’s character has a sad characteristic but I’m not sharing what it is because it would be a spoiler. Unfortunately, it’s a fact of life, yet the way the author presents it is heartwarming. I can’t say anything else about that plot thread involving Hannah.
One thing’s for sure. Gabe and Hannah surely “heat” up the bike path. It was a good thing I was icing an injury while reading because I needed the ice to cool me down. Ha, ha.
Both Gabe and Hannah’s vulnerabilities left their mindset with insecurities and fears to overcome. That made for an ‘on and off again’ relationship due to misunderstandings. I ate up that drama like a starving lunatic because I knew they’d see the light eventually. Their chemistry was undeniable. I knew their happily ever after was going to leave a huge ‘book glow’.
The cast of characters were well-developed and relatable. Most of the characters came from Hannah’s work and Gabe’s family. It’s my understanding that this book can be read as a standalone. However, I’m figuratively dying to read book two because it has one of Gabe’s sisters as the heroine. I don’t have the book in my possession yet but it’s only a matter of time before I do.
I highly suggest romance readers pick up their own copy of Dear Pink and get started so that they can also look forward to book two like me. I’m always told that reviewing a book is subjective but I honestly can’t imagine anyone not loving this book. It’s “pink-alicious”!
I don't read rom-coms as much as I should. I forget how much I love them until I pick one up and get swept away in it. Someone in our book club (where I read this) said that it has a "nice warm feeling after a long, hard day." It's almost like coming home for me. These are the books I read for a break from the heavier topics I tend to read and write. While I could never write a rom-com myself, they're my guilty pleasure, comfort reads.
All that being said, I think it's pretty obvious I loved this book. Michelle Angelle's style is simplistic enough that the writing was super easy to follow but you could still easily visualize the events and characters through it. The comedy was, of course, a bit overdone, but I feel like that's a staple of the genre. I can understand why some might see it as overdramatic, so this may not be a book for EVERYONE. But lovers of the genre will understand and appreciate the humor and drama of it all.
The characters were also extremely well-written. They were both heightened (Gabe and his gorgeous self) but also incredibly and perfectly flawed (past traumas that cause hinderance to the plot). Hannah isn't just a gorgeous modern woman; she's a self-conscious, nervous, anxious individual whose drawn so far into herself that even her two closest coworkers don't know who she really is. I enjoyed how realistic her portrayal way, even amidst the drama of the story. She's constantly looking for ways out of things, which I can 100% relate to, and failing time and time again.
Not only are the writing style and the characters well-created, but the storyline is also expertly crafted. You have this lighthearted comedic love story on the surface, and a more serious motivation underneath. Libby's list really brings the touch of severity that you need to deepen the personality of the story.
Overall, I adored this story. If it wasn't for other reading responsibilities, I would have picked up Michelle Angelle's second book instantly after finishing. As it stands, it'll have to wait, but just know, I'm very, very excited to read more from these two.
Hannah's story and her relationship with her best friend certainly hits you in the feels, at least it did for me. Sometimes it's hard to see what you need to correct to be your best, and sometimes, you need your best friend to show you what you truly can do. . Hannah, aka Pink, is a smart and talented artist stuck in a rut with her job and her life. Through the support of her best friend Libby, she embarks on completing a bucket list of challenges. Unlike most bucket lists, she isn't tasked with traveling to exotic locations but rather stepping (far) outside of her comfort zone. . Shortly after completing her first challenge she meets, or rather meets again, a good looking man who becomes a challenge in his own rite. Enter Gabe, Mr. Fancy, the Veterinarian and bike enthusiast. Now, Gabe is still recovering after having had a crap breakup and has sworn off love. There is just something about Pink though that has him falling fast for her. . Can these two find a way to heal what past relationships have broken within them? . This was such a fun and sweet story that has a bit of a life lesson thrown in too. We all have those things in life that we say we want to do; compete in a race, be bolder with our careers, take chances and not just participate in life but truly live it. Libby and her bucket list are that kick in the pants Hannah needs.
Beautiful, Beautiful Book. Michelle Angelle has created this beautifully sensitive love story which I couldn't put down. Actions triggered by her dead best friends final gift of love to her, in the bucket list, start to turn Pink's world around. The many hilarious actions are to help her overcome her grief, not just for the loss of her friend but of her parents as well. The list is written with the love of a best friend who knows her so intimately, yet Pink doesn't realise that the actions are to help her move on in life and be happy. I have not read anything so moving, funny, and passionate for a long time. A wonderful way to present the grieving process. The main characters, Pink and Gabe meet by chance while Pink is beginning one of her actions. Both from previous broken relationships it was never going to be an easy coupling. But the flames of passion are so hot between them, entwinned with tiny family interventions the comic elements will have you crying and laughing. I would love to see this as a film. It has such a wonderful feel good theme running through it. Two people full of self doubt. Previous deceit and insincerity, will they overcome their pasts? You will have to read it. An absolute page turner. I'd recommend it to everyone. It has something in it for everyone. Take it away on holiday and keep smiling. Well done!
This was a first time read for me by this author and it was a beautiful read. I was captivated with the story from the very start and could not put it down. The story will give you lots of laughter and fun, but also give you an emotional ride. Hannah's heart has been through the ringer, having been burned in love and losing her best friend Libby to cancer. But even gone, Libby is still looking after Hannah. She leaves her a bucket list to complete and help her to keep living her life and find her confidence. Going through the list, she meets Gabe and her love life takes a turn for the better. Gabe is exactly what she needs, gentle and kind, and his family is just so much fun, you can't help but fall in love with them. This was a great introduction for me to this author and I will definitely be looking forward to reading more. I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Gabe and Hannah meet by chance in an elevator. She tries to shrink away from the world and he forgets to ask her name. She is working on the bucket list of her best friend who passed away. When she encounters Gabe again he doesn't even recognize her. This is the beginning of an adventure in finding yourself and healing.
First off these ladies made me laugh so hard. Lets just say surprise dates with cats and you have to read for yourself. Loved Gabe and his kind heart and love for animals. Dear Pink is sweet, funny and will make your heart hurt just a bit too. Libby is the perfect spirit to have haunting you as she will tell it like it is. Gabe's family added to the fun and made me just want to have a girls day with all that chaos.
This is a lovely story it follows Hannah a charming sweet nature person who has lost herself whilst still getting over her cheating ex and following the deaths of her parents and then her very best friend. You get to follow her journey to get back to her true self with the help of Libby’s bucket list sent after Libby’s recent death from cancer. Just before receiving Libby’s list she has a chance with a gorgeous man in a very stylishly sexy cycling outfit in her office building list who she labelled ‘Mr Fancy.' Later in the story we find that this lovely man is Gabe and their paths cross many times in this will they / won’t they romance.
Great characters lots of humour also the difficult subject of bereavement is dealt with beautifully.
An easy quick and enjoyable read.

Set in Texas. 268 pp. Completely outside my usual reading. Dead friend leaving surviving friend a bucket list to get SF's life on track. These books that are so "normal" within most of the text and then out of nowhere have an X-rated sex scene always strike me as weird. Thank goodness that the woman is super-duper cute and the man is the most handsome man ever; otherwise, they would never have come together.
I've never read a romcom before, and what a great one to start with. Dear Pink is special because of the way it structures itself around moving on from loss and getting back up.
The protagonist, Hannah, is left a bucket list of things to do by her late friend to help her improve on herself. This was a brilliant narrative tool which kept me invested and intrigued and rooting for Hannah. Through this journey, Hannah meets Gabe and the two have an awkward yet satisfying relationship develop which was very fun to experience from both points of view.
Overall, the quality of the writing is incredible. The pace is exciting, the characters are likeable and funny, and the journey is at times quite touching. I've already recommended this book to family members, I loved it.
Dear Pink was such a sweet and fun read! Life, loss, and finding yourself again! I loved Hannah and Gabe, and loved following their relationship. I also enjoyed the dual pov. This was such a sweet and enjoyable read! I look forward to reading more from this author!

This was a wonderful light read with some heavy themes. The authors have done a brilliant job in describing the emotional turmoil that people can go through with loss. I really wish this would be a film, as there are so many numerous scenes as pink gross and develops into herself off the back of a bucket list. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting light romantic comedy.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It wasn't just incredibly funny, but also touching with real depth to the characters. The darker twist of the email from her recently deceased best friend Libby with a bizarre request, really added to the story. The over-thinking by Hannah of everything she says and does in relation to Gabe had me shouting out loud occasionally, and filled me with beautiful frustration. Exactly what you need in a Rom Com, because if everything ran smoothly, it wouldn't be funny, right! There are so many giggle worthy moments in the book but the kickball match antics had me laughing out loud. I'm keeping my eye out for other books by Angelle, especially for those moments I need a bit of a lift! *I read this book as part of a book club
What an emotional rollercoaster! Tears, laughter and steam are the glue of this wonderful romantic comedy. Finishing the bucket list of her departed best friend, means coming out of her shell. The journey is filled with fun and catches at your heartstrings. I honestly cried and laughed out loud. Didn't know I needed this, but the escape, even with the bittersweet parts, offered in this book was well worth 9 stars. As I can only give 5* I highly recommend it!
Such a breath of fresh air, a real love story, but not the typical formula! When people ask what I like about "50 Shades of Gray", I ALWAYS answer, "Anastasia's career path". I get that's not the reason people read that book, or romance books in general, but more and more often, the female character gets the shaft in romance stories. But "Dear Pink" delivers! I got attached to many of the characters in this book, I even had FOMO a couple of times, because covid, and they were out doing such fun things. Bike adventures, open mic performances, kick ball, crazy cat lady! But for me the gems of the story were the friendships, the coming into oneself, and yes, the love story. Highly recommend.
