Seven wyverns, six dragon mates, and a mouthy demon named Jim…
When word comes that a demon lord plans to curse all of dragonkin, Aisling, Drake, and the rest of the weyr take immediate action. But before they can find out just who is behind the threat, and why the curse is being cast, the red dragons disappear, leaving behind oddly familiar–but deadly–new foes.
The weyr bands together to repel the attacks and save the future of all dragons, but not before they lose one of their own. With demon-dragon hybrids trying to kill them, a demon lord weaving the biggest curse ever created, and the destruction of an entire sept, the wyverns unleash their collective wrath against the Dragonblight that could obliterate them all.
Note to new readers: this book details events that happen between two existing dragon novels, Sparks Fly and Dragon Fall.
For as long as she can remember, Katie MacAlister has loved reading. Growing up in a family where a weekly visit to the library was a given, Katie spent much of her time with her nose buried in a book. Despite her love for novels, she didn't think of writing them until she was contracted to write a non-fiction book about software. Since her editor refused to allow her to include either witty dialogue or love scenes in the software book, Katie swiftly resolved to switch to fiction, where she could indulge in world building, tormenting characters, and falling madly in love with all her heroes.
Two years after she started writing novels, Katie sold her first romance, Noble Intentions. More than thirty books followed during the years after Noble's publication. Her novels have been translated into numerous languages, been recorded as audiobooks, received several awards, and placed on the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. She also writes for the young adult audience as Katie Maxwell, and for the mystery world as Kate Marsh.
Katie lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dogs, and can often be found lurking around online.
Dragonblight definitely answered all the questions I had between the two series. It was nice to see all my favorite characters together again, even if was for a not so great reason. And yes I did cry when reading the chapter where everyone cries. Now I need to reread the books that needed this book. I can't wait.
I love this book! I have to say I’m a big fan of KatieMac this book which was long to come is a must for her fans of dragon serie! It answers a lot of questions we had ligot some stories we read ans refresh ouf memories of the first series it’s so amazing! I think a newbie would find it hard to follow maybe but for fans it’s wonderful addition to the dragon series and I hope more will come soon…
Laughed and laughed and was thrilled to have deduced most of the clues scattered thru the dragon books.
I couldn't quite understand what brought about the curse and how Jim lost his memory (and a host of other things). But, as the books went on I picked up on the anomalies and found all the answers in DRAGON BLIGHT. YEAH!!
I enjoyed the earlier dragon books, however this book seemed like endless conversations between characters that did not move the plot. The Chapter that makes everyone cry was the only chapter that I did not want to stop listening to. I know this is an interim book written after the fact, but it made miss the clever and humorous writing in the early books. Just disappointed.
I'm so happy I got this book. It answers so many questions I had. It make me want to re-read all the Dragon books and the Dragon hunter book. I loved the multiple views points and how the story fits right together.
