They’ve hated each other for years, but someone forgot to tell them there’s a fine line between love and hate.
Khi Harris has spent his life trying to prove himself. After a disastrous relationship, all he needs is a little time to regain his footing. He has no desire to spend that time with an old enemy.
Dre King has finally accepted his truth. A new home with family and friends is exactly what he needs as he begins a journey toward his dream. Khi waltzing back into Dre’s life is not part of the plan.
The only thing Khi and Dre can agree on is they most definitely don’t want to be thrown together, but that’s precisely what they get. The line between hate and love is easily blurred, but these two men are determined to fight each other tooth and nail.
**Yearn is a steamy, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity M/M romance between two EMS workers who have hated each other for a decade. It’s the fourth and final book in the Remington Place series and can be read as a stand-alone, but is likely best enjoyed when read in order.**
Escape into addictive, sexy, emotional queer M/M romance. A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing teens, and wondering how she and her husband of over two decades haven't driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking. She loves chocolate, hot tea, sweet wine with friends, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm. A.D. uses she/they pronouns. Yearn is the fourth book in this series that centres around the people who live in Remington Place. Khi is the latest to move in after a bad break up and has to room with Andre 'Dre', who has a spare bed in his room. Both have history with each other, but while Dre hopes that they can clear the air, Khi hangs on to a hatred and refuses to talk to Dre and in general about what happened when they were in high school. Dre works as an EMT and Khi is a paramedic, they work different shifts and hours so they are hardly in the same place at the same time. But what happens when they have to work together on the same ambulance and therefore have to share the room at Remington Place? I love enemies to friends tropes, and this is is a beautiful one by A.D. Ellis. It puts the characters in an ideal forced proximity and while one character seems to embrace it as a chance to 'clear the air' the other is trying to avoid any talk at all. I thought it really sweet that Dre uses every chance he gets to engage with Khi. I also loved the intervention of several residents of Remington Place to avoid my personal pet peeve of no communication. It kept the non-talking to a minimum which was okay with me. We all know that eventually both MCs would do something stupid like giving in to their physical attraction. And if you ever read an enemies to lovers book you know what happens at the end... If you have read the first three books of this series, this book will give you a nice rounded up end for the Remington Place people. While this book can be read as a stand alone, I recommend to read the previous books to understand how the supporting characters came to be. As a trigger warning there is homophobia, alcoholism and cheating off the page.
Just a brilliant read could not put it down super addictive Khi Harris had spent most of his life trying to prove Himself to everyone, he didn’t feel like he fitted in when he was younger and being gay made that so much worse for him. But when his younger sister introduced him to her best friend Dre, there was something there. But Dre was so homophobic Khi knew there was no way. But something happened along the way to change everything and they became enemies thankfully Khi was leaving the area so hoped he would never have to see Dre again. 10 years later they’re both living in the same building, sharing the same bedroom, and they were working in the same Job as first Responders in the same ambulance. Could this change Khi and Dre stop being enemies to friends or maybe even more???? I do not want to risk ruining the story for you and put some spoiler out there because this is one of the most enjoyable reads. There are real feelings throughout this book that will just touch your heart. You understand how they felt betrayed! You understand the crazy feelings they had when they were younger when they looked at each other and their hearts when a bit crazy! You understand The struggles that a family can put on a person. This is just one amazing part of a series that I am absolutely gutted that it is finished. I really got to know these guys and the epilogue is just fantastic it gives you that that final goodbye really and I was in tears once you’ve read the book you were totally understand but have tissues ready because if it doesn’t touch your heart I don’t know what will absolutely brilliant read I can’t wait to see what A D Ellis has for us next

Paramedic Khi Harris is trying to move on after a bad breakup and moves into Remmington Place but the only spare bed is sharing a room with his old enemy EMT Dre King. Khi has spent his life trying to prove himself and so this is not going to stop him from focusing on his end goal. Dre has finally accepted the truth that he is a gay man and now a new home with family and friends is what he needs to get comfortable and work towards his dream to become a clothing designer. When he did not accept was for Khi to walk back into his life and live in his bedroom. The only thing Khi and Dre can agree on is they most definitely don’t want to be thrown together, but that’s precisely what they get. The line between hate and love is easily blurred, but these two men are determined to fight each other tooth and nail.
I really enjoyed this book as Dre started trying to stay away from Khi before trying to apologise and befriend to acquaintances with benefits to lovers loving each other. It was fiery at points as they were in the hate zone before they moved to the sex zone and then the friend/love zones. There were a lot of emotions and a lot of unpacking to do but they did manage it quite well (when they got the courage to do that). Easy to read, feel and understand. As the last book in the series, there was an epilogue that looked at them all in the future. This is a steam MM story with enemies to lovers where two men who have hated each other for over a decade become exactly what the other needs.
Khi Harris and Dre King have a history, and it’s not a very friendly one. Both of them do their best to stay away from each other, which can be difficult in their professions. Khi is the latest resident at Remington Place and is forced to share the room with Andre (“Dre”) since he had a spare bed. Dre seems willing to work things out, but Khi is adamant about avoiding him. Khi is a paramedic and Dre is an EMT, but they have been fortunate to be on different shifts… until they aren’t.
One of the great things about Remington Place is that they are “family” in the true sense of the word. So you can count on the fact they will interfere if they think one of their members is unhappy or not seeing the reality of things. With their help and Dre’s willingness to communicate, can he and Khi work things out at long last? Is there a chance for them to open up and get a better understanding of what made them enemies back in high school? Could they at least start working on forgiveness and friendship? And miracles do seem to happen here regularly, so there is possibly a good chance for a HEA!
This is a wonderful series where we see good people who care about each other. Most have had extremely difficult lives, yet love and friendship can get them on the right course. Grab your copy and enjoy a wonderful story and see whether Khi and Dre can settle their differences.
Yearn is Book 4 in the Remington Place series and is best enjoyed in order. I love this series and this book might be my favorite. I just loved seeing Khi and Dre get their happy ending. Khi and Dre are EMS workers together but working opposite shifts so they don't see much of each other. Which is good for them because they also share a room together at Remington Place. These two have been enemies since high school and I don't think either of them really knows why. A lot of childhood misunderstandings to go with self confidence issues. When Khi and Dre are called into the boss's office their worlds collide when not only are they going to working the same shift but they are also going to be partners. It takes a work conference and only one bed for them to finally start to get out why they hate each other. You can't chance the past, you can only try to make the present and future better. I love Khi and Dre together and that Dre never gave up on Khi and getting him to come to terms with his feelings. This is definitely a book and series to enjoy again and again and I recommend it.

The epilogue that gives a glimpse into the HEAs of all the couples from the series (it’s been a fun ride, and while it works as a stand alone, I appreciated that this book included that nice moment of connection)
The excellent support from friends and found family-- I love how everyone stresses clear communication and emotional honesty, in authentic, non-condescending ways. It was good for Khi and Dre, and it’s just a good point for everyone everywhere, full stop.
Khi and Dre’s enemies to lovers trajectory. It’s one of my favorite tropes, and I liked them together, although it bugged me that Dre, having been the instigator and antagonist of hostilities during his teenage years, was also the one not to take no for an answer when it came to reconciliation-- generally speaking, I’m not a fan of anyone insisting on forgiveness for themselves, as that decision should be up to the person wronged. Overall, however, it’s rewarding to watch them move from enemies to frenemies to hookups to something more, and I’m glad they made it.

This is the first book I have read by this author, but I will be going back to read the other books in the series. This was such a great book. I like that the author was so incredibly intentional in her discussions and handling of gay men of color and the intersectionality of being gay and Black as well as being biracial and the issues of not feeling enough. I know most people e don’t read romance stories expecting to address these kinds of issues but as a gay People of Color (POC), I LOVE it. It is rare to find books where the main characters look like me and have my life. There are books about POC or books about LGBT persons, but very few authors do justice to LGBT POC. This author is now in my group of authors who do it well. Bravo to you for giving us Khi and Dre’s story in such a genuine way where these men are not stereotypes, but men in love!

Dre and Khi have a rocky past. A past where Dre doesnt look so great. He has a lot to answer for when it comes to Khi because he hurt him the most with his actions. But fate has brought them together in more ways then one. They work together, live together, and share a family. Remington Place is a family. Once the men start to spend so much time together they realize they may have jumped to conclusions about each other. The hate turns to lust and the lust turns into so much more. This book started out slow, while Khi and Dre struggled with so much of their past but once story finally get over their past they get to move onto their future. This is the final book in the series I think because you get a pretty far in the past epilogue. I think it was a perfect ending for this series.

💞🔥5 stars A great start as Dre and Khi are heading back to Remington to a meeting with their boss. I loved the snarkiness between them, but Dre is silently wanting Khi. Dre loved his fashion designs while working opposite shifts from Khi. hmm I'm bitting my fingers yah no spoilers.. I though Julia was cool fittimg the situation of sorts.lol okay confession time I had to google the difference between paramedic and an EMT. This is a book that you really want to hit their heads together and yell at them to wake up and smell the roses. A great book to read with both povs included per chapter. Includes baggage from their pasts with an incident, opposites attraction, close proximity and fire between the characters and challenges with lots more. Andre ake Dre and his work colleague paramedic, Kha didnt get on with each other..
What a way to end the series...this was real good. Me reading an enemies to lovers romance again will never be the same.Just from getting to know Dre and Khi from the previous books and their animosity I really didn't think it was a chance in Hades that they would get together. Well the author wove some magic. Things were rocky at the beginning (Khi is very stubborn) but Dre was a determined man. Truths came to light and attractions rekindled and blazed scorching HOT between the two. A difficult but lovely matchup and a nice HEA for the guys. I really loved this series and the crew at Remington Place and hate to see it end but the author did a lovely job at the end wrapping up this series...tears and smiles abound. NICE!

Yearn is the fourth book in this series. Khi and Dre have known each other for many years as they went to high school together. Both had crushes on each other but Dre tried to fight off thos feelings die to highly religious and homophobic parents. Khi came from a broken family whose mother left when he was young and an alcoholic father. Fast forward 10 years and you have them coming to Remington Place and have to share a bedroom. Both are EMS and they are forced to work together. This is a slow build enemies to lovers story. I really love Remington Place and was happy to read the epilogue of 9 years later to see where the other couples were at.
I can see that these two would probably have never made it as a couple back when they were young. Too many issues to deal with for each of them! Khi needed to get out and find a place that was anywhere that wasn't where he was at and Dre needed to come to terms with making the jump to becoming his true self while dealing with extremely religious, homophobic parents. These things are hard enough for adults to overcome, but for teenagers? Yeah, the decade or so that passed and then brought them back to a point that it was "their" time allowed for much-needed acceptance and growth!
The "series" epilogue was not expected but much appreciated. It definitely gave the series a sense of completion!
This is such a good enemies to lovers, forced proximity story. Dre and Khi are suddenly forced to work together on the same ambulance and share a room, and from there, things get very heated. Dre sees this as a chance for them to clear the air whilst Khi refuses to revisit what happened. It makes for some great tension that boils over as they finally give in to their physical attraction. I also thought it was really sweet how Dre keeps trying with Khi, and how all the other characters in Remington Place continue to help out to avoid any miscommunication. A sweet and steamy read with well-rounded characters.
I have been looking forward to this enemies to lovers story since we first met Khi and Dre. Khi really hates Dre, really he does. He may be forced into sharing a room with his long time enemy but when the two are forced into even closer proximity Dre desperately wants to clear the air and be friends. Khi, however, does his best to stay distant and not engage with Dre but life just seems determined to mess with him. I loved the way that Khi's resolve slowly begins to crumble and the enemies with benefits arrangement that Khi comes up with. This has been such a fun series and I can't wait to see what's next from this author.
When you have no choice, work with what you have! Khi and Dre have been at odds so long, they forget why. Being enemies is just a habit. When an opportunistic circumstance occurs, that forces them to stay together, they may have their escapes blocked. They may have to communicate like adults. Do they communicate? Do they look for the source of their enmity? Can they admit they have more in common that not? The feelings are INTENSE in this story. I have not read the previous stories, now I must. Khi and Dre are absolutely nice guys and you hope they can work through their perceptions. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was looking forward to reading this enemies to lovers story. Their tense relationship was definitely convincing. I was starting to wonder when their walls would start to crumble. It took time and I did get a bit tired of the bickering. The chemistry seemed a bit static until they finally got intimate. The sex scenes were hot and made up for the wait. It has a general angst running throughout due to hoth MC's being enemies. It was great to catch up on the rest of the gang and the epilogue at the end bought a HEA for everyone.
In the introductory note, the author states that “Khi and Dre were created from personalities and real-life experiences of real people”. And it shows! Khi and Dre do indeed feel so real, with their faults, their difficult past, their incomprehension and stubbornness. But the passing of time has often this unwanted effect of blurring the reasons of a strong hatred and forces each man to admit that people can change and that the enemy may become a friend, even a lover.
Once these two give in to their attraction, sparks fly and the heat rises quickly. And with it subdued feelings awaken and take over their heart and mind. HEA guaranteed and well deserved.
I liked both men and each complemented the other perfectly.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am happy to recommend it; but I would also suggest to read the previous instalments of this series, in order to have a better understanding of the background story and the relationships among the members of the Remington crew. I haven’t read them, and I think I missed a few connections and references. Well I’ll just have to buy them because the writing style of the author is very engaging.
I absolutely loved this book. It was such a wonderful read. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite things to read. This is the kind of book that once you start it you just can't put it down until you finish it. A. D. Ellis sure has a way with words and always makes the characters so real. I love that about her, every time I read one of her books I start looking for the characters that was in it. I look forward to reading her books.
This is the fourth book in the Remington Place series. It's the story of Andre (Dre) and Khi. I loved the story. It's very well written and you will feel the emotional ups and downs of the two Main Characters. They had a past and were thrown together as roommates and coworkers. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it to be a fitting ending to the series. The epilogue 9 years later was a nice touch to finish things off. I received this book as an Advanced Readers Copy.
This is one of my favorite troupes and it did not disappoint!! I'm sad to see this series end, it's been a favorite of mine! Khi and Dre have history! Both are EMT's and try to stay away from one another but that doesn't quite work and they end up sharing a room. This was fantastic!1 Love the enemies to lovers with forced proximity.

This was a very good story, it was very hard woman almost hallmarking. I like the character development in the slow progression of the characters coming into their own. It makes for a good store to just sit back read while music is playing in the background noise raining outside it's just that type of heart woman story once again all I can think about is a Hallmark movie.
I loved finally getting Dre and Khi's story. It was great to get the backstory about what happened between them in high school; my heart broke for each of them. I was lovely to go along on the journey as they learned about each other and the men they had become. It was an excellent conclusion to the series.
I'm so sad to reach the end of this series... binge read it in just a couple days it was so good! Khi and Dre did not disappoint. As with the others @ Remington Place, they were hot af together and so sweet. Loved the series epilogue at the end. Definitely recommend this book and the series for a low angst, steamy and fun read.
Loved this story about Khi and Dre. They came a long way from the hate they initially felt and i totally enjoyed their journey. I loved the entire series and getting to know all the fantastic characters all of which were endearing. I also felt the series epilogue was just a perfect ending.
This was such a great end of the series. It is an enemies to lovers but gradual and not unrealistic like some stories can be. It was so well written that you cannot help but be enthralled with the story. I loved reading and am sad to see the series come to an end
Enemies to Lovers romance. This is Khi's and Dre's second chance at life and with each other. With their history being stuck together in the same room is the last thing they wanted. But it was what they needed. I was glad they got their happy ending.
Khi and Dre cared for each other in high school but were to afraid to admit to each other. Things happen that made one hate the other. Ten years later they have to live and work together and one of them want forgiveness and the other doesn't think he can forgive. I really enjoyed this book.
This was a fantastic series with the best series epilogue. Never read one before and now with all authors did it to put a cap on the whole crew. Dre and Khi had the story the whole time was a part of and it made for great reading.
I enjoyed this story.... It had a good enemies to lovers storyline. And, Dre and Khi had amazing chemistry. Overall, it was a great conclusion to the series.
Great execution of really well chosen tropes! Loved the enemies to lovers dynamics and the MCs themselves! This series has been great so far and this part fits it perfectly!
