Pulled by the Tail is book two in the Tail and Claw series and part of the Celestial Mates by Nancey Cummings.

This was not my favorite. I loved book one in this series, but unfortunately this one did have that same spark for me. I still enjoyed and look forward to more in this series.

Georgia. Oh my, this girl has so many bad things happening to her that I can understand her feelings. She goes threw an area of emotions on Earth and in Space. To start she finds her boyfriend in bed with another women just after she finds out that she’s been cleared of cancer. Devastated by this she applies to the Intergalactic Dating Agency.

Quil her match in the Intergalactic Dating Agency is a piece of work. He’s a con-artist, gambler, and loves woman. Let’s just say their meeting doesn’t go as planned and Quil pons her off to his brother Talen with a loop whole in the signed marriage agreement.

Talen is the younger brother, but he acts more like the older. He’s responsible, kind, and caring. All his emotions are conveyed threw his tail and I loved how that was done.

Talen and Georgia’s romance is a slow bloom. She can’t leave until an annulment is done and that can take months, so that gives her time to spend with Talen. Their time together was nice.

Besides the romance and drama there are forces hoping to see everything go wrong.

Overall, Pulled by the Tail was a nice read.

This was a okay read. The narrator made it somewhat hard to listen too. I think if he would have changed some of the voices I would have enjoyed it more. However, you may like his narration so don’t let my ears change your mind.

I definitely enjoyed this second book of the Tail and Claw books. This one has Georgia finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman just as she found out she was cleared of her fear of cancer. Devistated over another life altering event, Georgia decides to apply for the intergalactic dating agency and gets a match. Her match is Quil who is contractually married to her as she travels for six months
to get to his planet. On arrival, she finds that Quil has married Fiona, a woman Georgia dislikes immediately. Quil decides Georgia should match with his younger brother Talen and their new adventure begins. I loved Talen! Talen was a man of honor and intelligence with a heart and understanding personality. Talen acts more like the older, more responsible brother that you can't help but admire. I also loved his tail, it gave away all his emotions and had a few talents of it's own. Georgia stayed on and did her best to help with the running of the household and "bed and .breakfast" business within. It would take months for an annulment, then another six months to go back to earth, if that's what she was going to do. We had Fiona, Quil's wife to deal with, and she was a lazy, scheeming witch. The relationship between Georgia and Talen was slow to develop but sweet and Talen was taken by her pretty much from the start. Georgia was twice hurt and much slower to catch onto the caring Talen's signals. Have no fear, she catches up and we get a HEA, but it's the trip, not the destination that makes reading their story so rewarding. Hoping there is a book three in the near future.

After a pretty awful romantic betrayal (which comes after dealing with potentially awful news already), Georgia applies to Celestial Mates, ends up matched to Quil, and heads off-planey to do the couple thing. Except...Quil's already hitched himself to another lady (don't ask. His actions were not cool no matter that Georgia ended up with the brother who she probably should have been matched to in the first place) and a loophole in the marriage contract has her faced with either accepting that she's married to Talen or losing her visa to stay on planet. Yeah, it's a little sticky.

Let's just say that Quil's a douchecanoe of the highest order, his new wife is convinced Georgia is going to set her sights on the guy who ghosted her and married someone else while technically married to her, and Talen is the only one rooting for Georgia to give Quil holy heck and do what needs to be done.

Which, in this case, is accept that she can take the loophole, stay married to Talen, and help him (and the others in his found family) turn their rundown manor into a thriving business. She's still convinced she's going to head out at soon as she saves enough funds, but Talen is doing his level best to convince her to stick around and make a real go of it with him.

Found family, big family trauma (for both the brothers and for Georgia), a house with a lot of character, a whole lot of verbal sparring, some "bad sausage", and two people who figure things out just in the nick of time. *thumbs up*

In the mood to read some alien marriage of convenience story but sadly this book failed me. The whole concept of running a B&B in a remote alien plant is quite contrived. The romance between the main couple is lacking. And most importantly, who needs enemies with a brother like that? I certainly hope the author doesn't write any books for the said brother. He is unredeemable and selfish and very hard to imagine his HEA.

Audiobook version - I loved the first book in the series, but the narrator changed. The story itself for Pulled by the Tail was amusing but the narrator was so irritating I don't think I'll be buying the next book.

I found this book discounted on Amazon via BookBub; this is my honest review.
-I thought this book was better than "Have Tail Will Travel" but still gained only 3 stars.
-It's a fun read, with multiple LOL moments. A bit of passion, good or bad, some mystery, low suspense (I should have been afraid but wasn't), and a nice epilogue. Day-to-day life while renovating a mansion and open door romance. Mainly, it's also very much predictable.
-I didn't take to either Fiona or Georgia. Fiona is flawed in many ways, mainly because she's not who she says she is. Georgia is hurt and hurts in return, has a bad language problem - which didn't add to the story; she makes all the worse decisions ever, then when it's time to make the correct ones, she balks.
-The drama was dragged a bit too long and the author could have cut several chapters. As well as not repeating three times, at least, about the cousin taking over the estate and the brothers being compensate for that.
-I was more excited when Talen and Quil were trying to cheat and win at cards than the hostage situation. Talen is a great guy but should have stopped saving his brother a long time ago even if I though Quil was hilarious.
-Editing certainly needs another pass: mail/male, etc.
Word of caution: When Georgia was really cold, Talen took care of her "His warm hands brought life to her numb toes as he rubbed and kneaded the digits.". This is the wrong way to do things as it will force cold blood back toward the heart, lungs and brain causing the core body temperature top drop. This can be fatal.

I read this via Audible. This book suffered a bit from the change in narrators in the series. It's not this narrator's fault, but hearing the 1st book with 2 narrators, then this with just 1, it was bound to have an effect. Generally I liked this narrator, he is clearly talented. But, the overall tone and feel of the book was very different from the 1st book. Another commenter said they thought that all the characters sounded a bit whiny and it would've been better if the narrator went with his natural voice. I cannot say I totally disagree, but I also do not think it is entirely on his shoulders because the author wrote 2 of the main characters as selfish and a bit whiny. Also, 1 of them clearly used southern USA colloquialisms so the choice of whiny southern drawl was probably dictated by the writing. However, that character was so annoying as to be ear-grating and that created a situation where the book didn't feel like it hit its stride until near the end when that character voice was no longer part of the story. Which is a shame because there is loads of clever banter between the 2 other main characters that is amazing. Also, I love that this book is a slow burn for at least 1 of the characters and that at least 2 of the main characters experienced some real growth. In the end, I liked it way more than I thought I would. And I did not want to ding it too much for my narration issues.

Wow this was so cringey. It seems as if this was hastily thrown together without much (if any) character development or storyline. I didn’t like or connect with any of the characters. Three words to describe this book: disjunctive, inconsistent, and cringey.

Meet the characters:

Charl: having four arms and being an “engineer” is not a personality trait

Bright: so-called motherly, has no presence in the books other than comments about her achy joints and her tea

Quil aka Tranquillity: cheater (on people & in every other aspect of life), irresponsible, selfish, has no concept of being a good or somewhat redeemable person, I literally hate him so much I didn’t know someone could write such a shitty character & expect us (and Georgia) to like him / forgive him for being an adult who acts like a ill-behaved toddler

Talen aka Talent: has no personality, is just a fixer of his brother Quil’s problems, the only thing we really know about him is he loves books and was in the navy, zero dimension, flat character, lies about understanding Georgia

Georgia: patient, extremely unlucky, strong desire to be accepted, is a literal doormat and acknowledges it, poor decision making, is a flat character, made fun of Talen for wanting to get back his one family heirloom, crass, massive chip on her shoulder, inconsistent people skills, cringey AF

Georgia leaves earth to marry Quil, a Tal living on Corriva, after she finds her live-in boyfriend sleeping with his intern. When she gets to Corriva, she finds that Quil is married and has found a loophole in their marriage contract. His brother, Talen, who usually cleans up Quil's messed, is attracted to Georgia. She is attracted to him but feels she will return to earth once she can afford the ticket back. Talen has been remodeling the estate that Quil won in a poker game. Georgia becomes the manager of the bed and breakfast they are making. Will she stay? Will she accept Talen as a mate?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Talen and Georgia. Georgia is outspoken and able to stand up for herself. Quil and his wife, Fiona, are a piece of work. I did not like them. I liked the rest of the characters. They knew who was in charge. I enjoyed watching Georgia learn to trust Talen and herself. The story was good and held my interest. I look forward to reading more of this series.

Fuzzy britches

This book had the same feel good factor mixed with pragmatism as the first one. But a little more focus on the relationship development, than the settling into a new planet. Which I think is right.
I loved how strong and practical Georgia was. Life kept throwing crap at her, and she didn’t break down, throw a tantrum, or get petty. She pulled herself up and got on with it, and did a sterling job of it (as my grandmother would say.)
I wasn’t sure I’d like Talen, but I did right from the start. He was practical, responsible and hardworking, but wasn’t a stick in the mud. He had a fun side and the patience to wait for Georgia to see how much he cared. And a level of wry sarcasm that I thought was pretty hot too.
Sweetness and light, with a couple of villains to overcome. Thumbs up from me.

I loved this book! The main characters were fine, but the self-centered brother was delightful. I LOL with his antics. It is the main character's brother who decides to get a celestial mate; however, he picks her, but switches for another by dumping her on his unsuspecting brother when she arrives on the planet. A shock to both the dumped bride and the straitlaced brother. Of course, he has no remorse and moves on with a new (equally air headed bride) with minimal thought about his actions leaving his brother and new wife to clean up the mess. The frustration with the air-headed brother and bride brings the newly matched couple closer together. The reader gets to experience the frustration felt by the moralistic couple with the hedonistic couple and it is just delightful. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is nice change from the traditional alien romance.

When Georgia dumps her unfaithful boyfriend and loses her job and apartment, she signs up for Celestial Mates, deciding to let the agency find her man since she seems to suck at it. The agency claims to have found her a perfect match but after the six-month journey to planet Corra, she discovers her perfect match couldn’t stand to wait and married someone else.

His brother, Talen, comes to her rescue and offers her a managing at their fixer-upper B & B. Stranded on the backwater planet with no money to get home, she reluctantly accepts.

As with the first book of the Tail and Claw series, Pulled by the Tail is a slow burn, but steamy sci-fi romance with interesting and quirky characters, nice world-building and some surprising twists and turns. An enjoyable read!

This book couldn't decide if it was alien, contemporary, historical or home renovation romantic comedy. I don't really care for CR unless it fits very specific tropes...which this didn't. This was essentially a CR with funny looking people. The aliens acted exactly like Americans from Earth, constantly using the same idioms and body language. 🙄

And the worst part was having to suffer through detailed and lengthy explanations of what needed to be renovated in the house, in which order said repairs would need to be done and which ones they had or did not have money for.

If it hadn't been funny in places, I would have died of boredom. ☠️

Georgia was burned badly by her one and only ex, and is hesitant to trust another man. But Talen isn't a man, he's a male alien. Even so, she's certain he'll abandon her once the novelty wears off. Talen isn't prepared to fall in love when his eccentric brother brings a human woman to their home through dishonest means. But in his effort to once again clean up his brother's mess, Talen does fall in love and he falls hard. He just has to convince her to believe him that this is forever.

As usual, Nancey Cummings has knocked it out of the park. I just love the linguistic miscommunications between humans and aliens with idioms, sarcasm, and teasing. And the romance is good, too.

I liked the story. All the guys in this series are sweet but this one is particularly sweet. No grumpy phase as many of my heroes have. This guy is just sweet.
There is a story here with some steam.
What I didn’t love was how brief the sex scenes were. There is not much description or build up. All of a sudden he was thrusting and I was like… but… when did they even start?!
(There is one hot librarian scene out of no where. But even that I could have read more of.)

I only made it to chapter 7 of 24. The narrator seemed to put real effort into some comically ridiculous voices that were annoying. It starts out very much like a Hallmark movie feel of unrequited love, not an action packed romance. For a sci-fi book the aliens are basically just slightly differently shaped humans in thought and mannerism. I gave up between a boring plot and the poor narration.

Love Talen and Georgia!!

Such a fun story! This story made me sad and smile at the same time. Georgia has been through so much and I definitely wanted to punch Quil in the face but holy hot book reading Talen. He makes it all worth it! Fun read. I definitely recommend it.

The heroine dithered a bit too much about settling down with the heroine, but I enjoyed the banter between all the characters. The narrator did a great job overall and especially with reading the sex scenes in a way that didn’t make me uncomfortable.

I just wasn’t feeling the romance on this. There’s instant attraction, some awkward flirting…then a several month time skip where we’re TOLD that there’s sexual tension, following by jumping straight into sex. It just isn’t working for me. I’m not convinced these two belong together
