I’m no longer the little girl he once knew, one who believed in fairy tales. And he’s no longer the white knight I believed him to be. How can he be when he shows up on a black Harley wearing leather and biker boots? I didn’t want this, but the decision is out of my control. Now I’m his.
I have to remember this is only temporary. I can’t let the way his predatory gaze sets fire to my body fool me. Because I’m just a debt he’s paying, and I can’t risk my heart by letting myself believe it can ever be more.
Not with a man like him. He’s dangerous, and only focused on one thing—securing his place with the baddest MC in town.
He’s no longer the boy I remember when I was nine years old—the one who helped me when I got stuck in a tree. The one who climbed up, wrapped an arm around me and hauled me down to safety, calling me short cake. He was my savior then—a childish crush—but we’re no longer children.
Now he’s a stranger.
Now he’s my husband.
Saint—
I took her with me because I had no choice. If I owe a debt, I pay it.
I owed her mother a favor, but I never expected the repayment to include marrying her seventeen-year-old daughter. When she begs me to take Kami with me to protect her, do I have a choice?
Besides, it’s only temporary. Just until she turns eighteen.

👏👏👏 Nicole James has done it again! Saint is a phenomenal read — one that I will reread over and over again!
The main thing that stood out the most was the world-building in this story and the further you delve in, the more you get invested in Saint’s and Kami’s story. Not just with the unique situation they both signed on for, but also with their own personal lives. They were heading in completely different directions and all of a sudden they’re thrust into a marriage of convenience. Saint has wanted nothing more than to be a full-fledged member of the Kings of Carnage MC. Having to balance out his duties and loyalties to the club and ensuring Kami is taken care of and protected was what kept me engaged throughout.
Once I started this book it was unputdownable! The storytelling is well-paced and told from dual points of view. I loved witnessing their developing relationship from the instant connection they had to each another. In spite of their situation and the fact that they hadn’t seen each other since they were kids, it didn’t deter from the sense of comfort and familiarity between them, even in the beginning when they first reunite.
I’ve always found James’ writing style to be effortless to follow with her charming (and at times entertaining) characters and hearty plotlines. I just know I’m gonna hunker down and enjoy what’s ahead of me. It’s hard not to get addicted to this book because James has created truly relatable and down to earth characters with a gripping storyline. There’s also a great balance of light and shade within adding comic relief in-between the gritty moments. The atmosphere flowed well from goodness to darkness and back again with ease.
Saint and Kami have a slow burn romance that kept me both in suspense and excitement to see develop. I absolutely adore Kami and relieved to see that although she’s still a teenager, she’s mature and has a sweet nature about her that meshes well with Saint’s personality. He’s got the protective gentlemanly vibes down pat with just the right amount of alpha. To be honest, this entire story gave me such Dirty Deeds vibes, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that both stories have amazing world-building with a strong and constant structure to its storyline. They both have young, innocent heroines that you can’t hate, and who’ve managed to worm their way into the hearts of these hot-as-sin bikers!
I’m not going to lie when I first discovered how young Kami was, I was a smidge anxious to see how the romance element with Saint would come into play, what level of it I could expect, and how soon? But as I mentioned earlier it’s a slow burn, and whilst I was itching to see them finally reach the romantic stage of their relationship, I adored seeing them get reacquainted first. In my opinion, with Kami being young and Saint only a few years older, the steadiness of their relationship was fitting. It felt substantial and all the more authentic, especially when it came down to their emotions.
Both Kami and Saint grew up in close-knit relationships with their parents, and whilst somewhat of the storyline revolved around Kami’s, I was kind of expecting to see more of those familial moments with Saint’s also — especially considering what they’d ventured into is something his parents have strong values and beliefs over. But nevertheless, I found the conclusion to be a sweet HEA and in my mind, Saint’s family are just as happy as Kami’s with how things played out. 😉
Besides the romance element, there’s a generous amount of the MC side of the story where you get to see Saint’s role in the MC and how much of it consumes his life. As well as meet the rest of the members/ prospects of the club. In comparison to James’ other MC stories, I found this one leaned more towards the lighthearted side of MC romances. There’s some suspense and a few plot twists to keep you on your toes, but I absolutely went nuts for the unexpected but swoon-inducing crossover James has cleverly included into the plot.
This book is part of the Kings of Carnage MC: Prospects series and can be read as a standalone story. It has all the elements I always find winning in MC romances:
- Lovable characters - Vivid world-building - Strong storyline - Suspense and unpredictability - Equal amounts of MC and romance elements -Banter and lighthearted humour
I undoubtedly loved it! It’s now one of my fave MC romances of James’ and I highly recommend it to fellow MC romance readers. I found the story of an MC prospect a refreshing alternative from reading one who’s already a member. James provides a cool and detailed description of what is expected of a prospect, and how much trust, commitment, and loyalty it takes to make it as a member in the club. By the end you’ll not only swoon over the romance, but you’ll feel like you have some know-how of the world of motorcycle clubs. It’s a must read!
Saint by Nicole James was the third book in the Kings of Carnage MC - Prospects. The series was a spin off focused on the legacy of the original Kings of Carnage MC. Both series are written by five to six separate authors and although are all part of the MC storyline, the books can be read in order or as stand-alones.
I’ve taken a break from formal reviews for a while, but a couple quick thoughts: I really enjoyed Saint and Kami. And I loved how James incorporated her Evil Dead MC from Alabama Series. It worked well. I also loved the overall storyline - the MC plot as well as Kami’s backstory. All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read and a great addition to the series.
As soon as i started reading this book i knew i was going to love it, i wasn’t sure what to expect but Saints and Kami’s story’s is one of my favs so far in this series.
This was book was on from the start, Kami and her mother had lost everything and i felt for Kami even though she was a child that probably got everything she wanted she adapted really well to having nothing, this chick was fierce and strong and only brought down her walls when she had too.
Saint just had a one track mind get a patch he wasn’t expecting Kami and how they were brought together. I really liked saint he was a good guy from the start he just needed his eyes opened.
Another fantastic book in this series, i really loved this one and this was my first book from Nicole James and i can’t wait to get more into her books, if you love an MC Steamy story then this series is for you.
Not a bad read considering yet again its about a 17 yr old teenager getting with a biker. Everything i detest in the latest biker books.
But it wasn't a bad read. Saint was hot, kami was OK for a teenager.
Though the actual mc was a bit suspect. Leaving a prospect alone to collect money with no back up was strange and unusual and to me set him up to fail. Then he just shoots salome, just like that? It just didn't ring true.
Not impressed with this mc if I'm honest.
But I still enjoyed the book and it held my interest.
I really loved Santos, aka Saint and Kami's story. They've known each other since they were both young kids. Kami was the rich girl, and Saint was the son of the hired help. They grew up together in a sense, but they were never really friends or close. Kami always had a crush on Santos, and he always looked at her as the unattainable, too good for him, rich girl. Well, fast forward, almost 10 years, and they come face to face when he comes by to thank her mom Barb for all of the help she gives his mother even though she's no longer employed by her. They had to let her go when Kami's stepdad caused them to lose all of their fortune because of some ponzy scams and blamed it on Barb as well, landing her in prison. He tells her he is forever in her debt, and that's when Barb comes up with the crazy idea that he marry Kami to keep her out of the system. They do that and over the months things change for them. So much happens between these two and you see that love comes above all else. I really love how protective Saint is over Kami. And I loved how she just knows she's loved him all along. And they do everything they can to make things work out for them. Definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series as well.
I usually don’t like MC books centered around prospects but this one was pretty good. I LOVED Saint. He was such a sweetie-pie. I couldn’t believe that he was going to put everything that he worked so hard for on the line to help Barbara but he did. Especially because Kami came off so immature and bratty at first. She was only seventeen but still, her ungratefulness rubbed me the wrong way. (Spoilers ahead)…..
Luckily her ex best friend takes her to a homeless shelter and shows her what it’s “really” like to have nothing. From that point on, Kami grew up and I ended up loving her. I will say, things progressed kind of slow between Saint and Kami. I guess that’s good because even though they are married, she had turned 18 by the time they had sex.
Even with their relationship moving slow throughout the book (which normally drives me nuts), this book was still very entertaining. I loved all the interactions between the brothers. Loved seeing Sly again. I definitely want to read the upcoming books about the other brothers. (Although they are written by different authors). The ending of this was good—loved the epilogue.
I absolutely loved reading the first generation of the KOC, and the second generation is even better! This was a fantastic story that had heartbreaking situations, drama, suspense, humor, and best of all was watching another KOC prospect fall, not literally of course. Lol! It is definitely a story that you won't want to miss! I loved the surprise appearance of some of my favorite characters from another MC! Can't wait to read more from that series as well! If you haven't already, I would highly recommend that you read the Kings of Carnage MC first generation series that begins with Chaos by Hillary Storm. They're all absolutely fantastic stories, and you certainly won't be disappointed! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
Kami had a crush on Saint when she was younger. His father was their lawn caretaker and he would help him out. In a twist of fate, Kami is now the one who has no money and little prospects. She is a 17-year-old who has had her whole life change because of the sins of her stepfather. Saint agrees to marry her after her mother asks him to and so begins their tale. Kami, for the most part, was practical and didn't really have too many moments where her age showed. Saint, for his part, was so focused on getting his patch, he was missing what was right in front of him. Their story was a quick, easy read and I found it entertaining.
A trip yo check on his mom and winds up married!!!
Saint prospect for the MC gets a call that his mom has fallen , she lives five hours away from him. His sponsor tells to go check on her , he lives as a single guy and returns married to a seventeen year old. Kami has just graduated high school and her mom is set to go to prison in a few days. The story is a cute, sexy steamy romance with several different things happening to him and her! Actually falling in love is the final thing for them both. Great characters and story! Recommend with a 5 Stars review
Wow!! Cami and Saint make quite a couple. Not sure if I would have done the same thing Cami did at her age even if her mom kind of made her do that. She was a Princess with money who fell to below pauper status. Saint was already at pauper status who knew he could never measure to her standards. I love that Nicole brought in the Evil Dead. Gotta love the Dead. I love this whole series, how the different authors come together to collaborate. The first run was awesome and the second is just as good.
I really enjoyed this book of the series. It felt like it was full... do you know what I mean by saying a book was full... yeah that it had everything and a complete ending even though you know there's more books after this one but you didn't need to know more. It even had a little bit of Saint with crossing into another of this authors other book series....The Evil Dead MC which I love that series by the way. I really have nothing else to say except you need to read this one.
Saint and Kami - I’d say I’d give the book 3.5 stars. It was a cute story. I enjoyed Saint and Kami’s history, why they got married, and how their relationship progresses. Saint is a really good guy. There wasn’t much drama. They fought once for not really a good reason. Maybe because it was a shorter read, the reason wasn’t really developed in a way that was justified. There is some spice and a few parts that delve into MC life. But the majority of the book is Saint and Kami building a relationship and life together.
Nicole James spins another amazing story with Saint and Kami’s story. I enjoyed reading this book so much ! Saint was the absolute best alpha hero for Kami. Nicole James really knows how to spin a great romance that grabs at your heart and won’t let go until the end. I also loved the crossover with the Evil Dead MC.
So this book was another hit for Nicole James. I can’t wait for more books in the Kings of Carnage series.
Nicole James dose it again. I love her style you don't get bored she draws you in from start to finish. Saint is just trying to get his patch but along the way does a favor and helps the girl of his dreams. MS James creates characters that you can believe and fall in love with enjoyed this read very much.
Saint becomes embroiled in a marriage of convenience because his parents' ex employer needed his help.
Kami can't believe her mother's suggestion. She has to agree, she has no other choice. This relationship starts with a lot of bickering back and forth until feelings come to play.
This was such a terrific book - I think we all fall in love with Saint, he is such a good man, a kind man and a man you can count on. He has morals where Kami is concerned - but he also wants to follow his dream of being a patched member of the Kings of Carnage MC, and with their situation, she might get in the way. Will they let it?
I didn’t know what to expect reading a series about Prospects but I am throughly enjoying reading all about these men! Saint I couldn’t put down, loved their chemistry and loyalty to one another. Throw in a couple of twists and I was hooked. Would love to read from these two. Cant wait for Bear now…
This was a sweet sort of second chance story. Childhood friends reconnect due to unusual circumstances and force them together. They are feeling all sorts of weird about their situation because they both had other plans. As time passes, they become comfortable with each other. There's drama, light angst, and romance. Read On!
Nichole James what can I say about this book you wrote for the KOC Prospect series. I love Santo “Saint” Chaves and he is so sweet and sexy. He takes Kami as his wife due to her mother going to prison. He is working as a prospect and tries to hide Kami from the MC. This is a great series to read and you won’t be able to put it down.
Love the series and the different authors involved. Saint & Kami's story is a very sweet, childhood friends becoming lovers. While Saint is from the wrong side of the tracks, he holds the values that mean everything close to his heart. When Kami needs him he steps up even though it could and does complicate his life and track to become a patched member of the Kings. Well worth your time & $$
Omg absolutely incredible. I couldn't stop reading this book. I would have read all in a day if I could have. I have to say I think Saint is my favorite out of all the guys right now. The way he stepped up, and just took care of Kami was incredible. I loved it. I highly recommend any of these books
It was a favor he felt he owed but ended up being so much more. Kami was privileged until her crooked step father loses all her family's money and end's up in jail. She falls for Saint. He's good hearted and takes care of her. What was supposed to be 3 months turns into a lifetime of love.
Definitely my fave of the series. I love Saint. He was just the sweetest MC. And Kami was his perfect match.
I know it needed the obligatory angst towards the end and this one was weak at best and served no real purpose. The rest of the story was enough for me to forgive the ridiculous nature of the angst plot.
Loved Saint and Kami’s story. There’s something about history and young lust that turns to love. There hasn’t been one book from Nicole James that I haven’t enjoyed.
Loyalty and respect are tested, but love wins as always. Saint was only looking to get his patch, but then came Kami. She turned his word upside down. Definitely recommend this book and author.
Saint is the guy we all want to find - even if they are prospecting for an MC - Kami is really not what he was looking for but he promised, will they be able to overcome the huge walls they need to get it in the end.
Another fantastic addition to this series. Everything about Saint and Kami’s journey is complicated. Their road is rocky but leads to a beautiful destination. I loved everything about this story. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
From the very beginning I was drawn into Saint and Kami's world. These two have been through alot and when push comes to shove both their world's are changed. What started as a 3 month relationship turned out to be their forever. I loved going on this journey with them and can't wait to see what happens next!
I really loved this book. MS. James never fails to spin a love story that comes alive with wonderful sexy hot characters. Love how she brings back so many of them from the previous series. A great family reunion for sure.
This book was good i loved that this showed a different side to a biker then been how they usually are I love the dynamic ofThe characters in this felt sorry for the !other tho
