So what happens when you really fall in love? All I know is that I’m keeping her for good.
My Fake Husband is the second standalone book in the Rockford Falls Romance series. Whether you want forbidden lovers, secret babies, or second chances, this series has it all. Just grab a glass of something cold because these sexy alphas and their fabulous leading ladies are sure to leave you hot and bothered in all the right ways! And don’t forget, a sweet HEA is always included!
Trixie needs a help to get a loan for the building her business is in so she and her friend Damon decide the have a fake marriage so that he can help her. They have both had feelings for each other for a long time. What will happen when this fake marriage feels very real? Fast-paced read with lots of emotion and steam. I liked it.
It’s ironic how two people can grow up together and never realize that the other feels the same way you do. Especially when your mothers are so close! Damon is a handsome firefighter that is know as a player. But the man has a heart of gold and would do anything to help anyone. Hence poor Trixie has a flower shop and everything gets flooded and her landlord is nowhere around. I felt so bad for her to feel like she was not able to do anything. I was glad to see Damon come to the rescue with the offer of marrying her so she can get a loan using his house as collateral to buy her building and fix it up. I was surprised she didn’t jump at that right away since she had a crush on him for so long. The two were up and down. I encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
You just have to love a man in uniform and hot damn Damon Vance fits the dream!!! Trixie Owen and Damon's mothers are best friends which puts them on a friends only status...or so they think. Trixie is having a bad day when her plumbing floods her flower shop and her no good landlord is MIA. With no means to secure a loan to fix the damage or purchase the building, everything feels hopeless for Trixie. Damon is a hot fireman that could melt your panties and he offers his help and his name to give Trixie the collateral she needs for the loan. What neither expected was that through a fake marriage their crush on each other grow to falling desperately in love. Is it out of obligation?? Just when acceptance sets in, Damon's sister Laura (Hot Cop) is on her way to ER with possible miscarriage, Trixie is in Savannah with her sister and staring at two lines on a test and both Damon and Trixie are scared for different reasons. Lack of communication and not expressing their true feelings create a wedge until a gas leak forces their hand. Will there be time to confess their love and move forward?? Pick up this great story about loving from afar while in fake marriage. These characters fit each other like pieces of a puzzle. It's great to visit characters from previous books but not necessary to keep up...but why miss out on their story!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and happily purchased a copy for my favorites collection.
This is such a sweet poignant story of a small town romance. This story was the perfect combination of romance and humor with just the right amount of angst, I swooned so much reading this story. A marriage of convenience doesn’t have to lack love and romance, and we see this between Trixie Owen and Damon Vance. Trixie and Damon grew up together because their mothers are best friends, so they never considered anything other than friendship—even though they each had a crush on each other. Damon is a handsome firefighter “like woman catnip” who is tall, sexy as hell, bachelor, and every single woman in town would love to get their hooks into him. Trixie owns her own flower shop and when the pipe burst and flooded her shop, her landlord is nowhere to be found—hence, she is having a bad, bad day since everything is destroyed. Then, Damon helps Trixie with her problem. Though their arrangement was for a temporary marriage, they both find it hard not to cross the boundaries they set for themselves. It’s all supposed to be pretend...until it wasn’t. Will Damon and Trixie’s vulnerability and doubts get in the way of true love? Or will they be able to keep up the charade of a fake marriage? Find out out what happened—what a conundrum! Natasha Black wove an absolutely beautiful story... It had me by the heart until the very last sentence! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I enjoyed reading this book so much, I couldn’t put it down! The chemistry between Trixie and Damon is apparent from the beginning and their plan to be fake married is hilarious. If they could both be on the same page, at the same time, and really communicate with each other, life would be better.
The way Damon takes care of Trixie with the breakfasts, moving her from the couch to the bed, sending dinner to the shop, and more shows how in love with her he is. The way Trixie waits up for Damon after the fire, wants to yell at the fire chief on his behalf, makes dinner for him, and more shows her true feelings. They are both very sweet and romantic soulmates.
It was great to get a little life update on Laura and Brody (Damon’s sister and his best friend) from “Hot Cop”. Laura’s love of teasing Damon is awesome and of course Brody gets in the action. Damon’s family in general are funny and supportive for the marriage to become real. Trixie’s family has their fun as well. Her mom giving her the birds & the bees talk is a riot.
This is a small town romance with humor, romance, angst and more, is written from dual point of views, and is a complete standalone.

This is a beautiful small town romance about Damon a local firefighter who us known to be a ladies man with a heart of gold who would help anyone and Trixie who has had a crush on Damon since she was a kid growing up in the same town. Trixie has started a flower shop and with the rental space has had one issue after another as her landlord is horrible with any maintenance. One day she finds water all over and has to close up shop with no response from her landlord and one night out with her friends Damon starts a conversation and ends up spending the night with both theirs friends hanging out. These two feel the connection between them and end up with a plan to fake marry to use Damon’s house for collateral for a loan to buy the building and fix her shop. Everyone sees the attraction between them but they fight it and one night Damon comes home from a fire he almost got hurt in and they spend the night together knowing it was more than a hook up. These two develop into a real relationship and then have some ups and downs. Once things get sorted out they realize what’s most important, their love for one another. It’s funny Damon and Trixie have known each other forever. Both of their mothers are friends and tried to put them together. Damon followed in his father’s foot steps and became a fire fighter. He was well liked by the ladies. Trixie owned a flower shop. It was doing ok until one day she walk-in to three or more inches of water. Her friends helped clean up but she can’t open back up. Her only options are to close up or sell her house to afford the bills for the flower shop. While at the bar Damon offers her a proposition. This proposition changes their friendship. They both kept holding Bach their feelings. The both feel the same for each other but both are afraid to say how they feel.Trixie has had a crush on Damon for a long time and can’t believe this is her life now. Damon wants Trix and doesn’t want to let her go. He asks his beat friend Brody what he should do to get her to stay. When Damon and Trix are together it like fireworks. They were frustrating at times . I didn’t think they would make it because both were equally scared of losing the other. Communication is key! Truly a good book. I don’t think that guys like Damon Vance exists. Truly put his heart on his sleeve and put it out there
Trixie runs a floral shop and has had a crush on handsome firefighter Damon for years and he has been attracted to her, but they have not gotten involved because their moms are best friends and if things didn’t work out for the couple it could ruin their moms’ relationship. However, Trixie has a disastrous plumbing leak at her shop that the out of town landlord won’t fix and she can’t afford the plumber and she is desperate for a solution or she will lose her business. Damon offers to loan her the money since she has no collateral for a bank loan but they come up with the idea for a fake marriage and then the bank will loan them the money she needs. Both of their families warn about a fake marriage but they go forward with their plan. After living together they grow closer and they both feel a physical attraction but don’t admit their feelings. Will their fake marriage lead to happiness together?
I thoroughly enjoyed this fake relationship story that becomes much more. The author did a great job showing how neither would admit their growing feelings and how their families tried to get them to tell each other what they were thinking. The epilogue was a perfect ending for their story.

Why do characters go into a fake relationship to hide their true feelings for the other?? This is a story of two people who have known each for a long time and have secretly crushed on one another and decide to marry for financial reasons. Damon, the sexy playboy firefighter jumps at the chance to help Trixie, the struggling flower shop owner. What I really appreciate is that it doesn't take long for Damon to speak from his heart. Trixie, on the other hand, is such a "chicken" when it comes to her feelings for Damon. Their relationship runs hot and then, cold...it runs hot and then, cold. It is so frustrating because all Trixie needs to do is listen to the words out Damon's mouth. He doesn't speak just in the heat of the moment...and there is a lot of heat.
This is a good story with a fun and loving cast of characters. I think Damon and Trixie's families are the stars behind this story. Their blunt and honest comments along with their prankster ways is hilarious. I recommend this very enjoyable read.

Trixie is having a hard time with her flower shop because of repairs that need to be done. Her landlord isn't answering her calls and then the shop gets flooded ruining equipment so she is feeling really low. Damon is a firefighter and he has feelings for Trixie. When he sees her with her friends and she looks upset he goes over to see if he can help. Its not long before their friends leave and they end up coming up with a plan to help Trixie. She had jokingly mentioned him marrying her and he agreed so that's what they end up doing. He marries her so she can use his home for her loan to get her shop up and running. However its not long before things get blurred and turn very real between them. Will they admit how they feel for one another? Will they stay together?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
When I started reading this book I kept thinking something seems familiar and I couldn't put my finger on it until I went and looked at Natasha's previous books and then it hit me...Hot Cop. Damon is the firefighter brother of Laura, the cop and best friends with Brody, the Chief of Police. Now, that I had that figured out, I could enjoy reading this book a little more.
Trixie owns a flower shop but she doesn't own the building it's in. With multiple attempts to get ahold of the landlord about busted pipes she finally gives up and tries to come up with a plan to buy the building herself but who is going to give a loan to a single female who is still making mortgage payments on her house? In steps Damon to the rescue offering to marry Trixie and, you know, get a little closer to the off limits crush he has for her. Being off limits as in both of their mothers are best friends. Could be awkward.
This was such a good book and I can't wait for more.
Trixie runs a florist and loves her job. Even better she would love to own the building as her useless landlord is unreliable and repairs nothing. As a result, pipes that Trixie had warned him about, burst and flooded her shop. Effectively closing her business until she could find a financial solution. Damon is a gorgeous, hunky fireman. Their mothers are close friends, and Trixie has has had a crush on him since she was 14. Damon had begun to really see Trixie for the gorgeous young woman she is, a couple of summers ago. He’s crazy about her but his fear of things going wrong and affecting their mothers friendship as a result, is holding him back. When he finds out that Trixie needs help, Damon doesn’t hesitate to step up. I absolutely loved this book. It made me laugh and cry and kept me captivated throughout. It’s well written and the chemistry between Trixie and Damon is fabulous. The library book club scene is hilarious. After reading this, I want a Damon ;-) Fantastic.
Damon offers to marry Trixie so she can get a loan for her business. He neglects to tell her that he's been drooling over her for ages, even though he considers her to be off limits. Tricia accepts his offer and promises they'll be done once she pays the loan off. Obviously she's always had a crush on him. I mean who wouldn't drool over the perfect firefighter?
These two start as loose friends, become better friends and start getting physical. Even with that they were lacking a little on connection (not hear though), neither knowing where the other stood. Pretty terrible at picking up cues from body language. I was a bit confused why Damon considered Tricia off limits? He said it was because their families were so close but it didn't seem anyone actually had an issue with it.
I liked catching up a bit with the characters from Hot Cop and really hope a certain someone gets her second chance.
This pair continues the high angst level of the previous book. That probably shouldn’t come as a surprise since our hero is Damon, the brother and best friend of our previous leading couple. In a twist on the ‘best friends’ theme, it’s the parents with the close relationship making anything between Damon and Trixie more complicated than it might otherwise be. This pair are so cute together. You can easily see how much they’ve meant to each other for as long as they’ve known one another. My only complaint is that they bring almost all of their problems on themselves by not talking. A couple of honest conversations could have saved them both a lot of pain and anxiety, but it also would have made their story nowhere near as much fun. I loved that we also got to check back in on Laura and Brody, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next in Rockford Falls. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Natasha L. Black is one of my go-to authors. She always, always gives the reader great characters, compelling stories, and oh so steamy fun. Damon and Trixie have known each other forever, their moms are BF, and both Damon and Trixie have held a secret crush on the other. So, when Trixie needs help to keep her flower shop afloat and that help requires a husband, Damon is there for her. They do ever so subtle things for each other all the time that really show their true feelings for each other. When the fake marriage, mutual attraction, and crazy chemistry leads to more, and that more leads to even more, what happens next. The book is fast paced, steamy, great characters, and so much more. And I love that this book as well as Hot Cop, Damon's BF story are all available to read for free with your KU Subscription.

Trixie owns a floristry shop and the building has a water pipe problem, she needs a loan but the bank won't lend it to her because she's single, what is she to do? Damon has a reputation for being a player, and she's had the biggest crush on him. Meeting later at a bar Trixie discusses solutions and pretends to propose to him - he accepts! Letting everyone know that they are marrying for convenience with the hope it will take the pressure off - they didn't count on the chemistry between them!
I LOVED this storyline! I was immediately hooked into the story as the characters are likeable, relatable and compelling to read. I liked how the author has brought the characters 'to life' including the secondary characters - parents, best friends, and siblings. The humour, sassiness, communication, friendship, life experiences, and the bond they all share, really made the story unputdownable! There's plenty of chemistry between Trixie and Damon, steamy scenes, friends-to-lovers, emergency, action, drama, angst, suspense and passion. Told from dual POVs reveals intimately their thoughts feelings and emotions as they explore their relationship. There's an epilogue with the sweetest HEA!
⭐️⭐️ 2 Star Review – My Fake Husband by Natasha L. Black
I really wanted to enjoy My Fake Husband, but it just didn’t work for me. The premise of a fake marriage turning into something real is one of my favorite tropes, but the execution felt rushed and a bit repetitive.
The chemistry between the main characters never fully landed for me. Their relationship jumped from fake to emotional without enough buildup, so the connection felt forced instead of natural. I kept waiting for deeper character development or meaningful moments that would make me root for them, but it never quite happened.
The story also felt a little disjointed at times, with pacing that moved too quickly in some places and dragged in others. By the end, I just wasn’t very invested in the outcome.
It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t leave much of an impression either. If you love the fake husband trope, you might still find something to enjoy—but this one just wasn’t for me. 📚
A case of the ‘what ifs’ My Fake Husband: A Secret Baby Romance (Rockford Falls Romance Book 2) by Natasha L. Black is a sweet and steamy romance of two secret crushes getting their first and final chance. Damon and Trixie had been carrying torches for each other, never taking a risk. The flippant proposal becomes all too real with Trixie negative talking herself into assumptions about Damon’s intentions while Damon is looking for ways to solidify and make their marriage of convenience his ultimate reality. Overall, I really enjoyed getting to know Damon and Trixie. Their love story journey was not without antagonism, but it was all of their own making! Finally a honest conversation, a declaration of love and a heartwarming HEA. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
I really enjoyed reading My Fake Husband: A Secret Baby Romance (Kindle Edition) by Natasha L. Black because it was such a great story about Damon and Trixie. They had known each other since they were younger. Each of them had a crush on the other, but thought that the other didn't. Trixie needed some help with her flower shop. Damon was more than willing to help her and they both came up with a plan to fake marry each other. Love stories like this because each time there is a fake marriage, the feelings are oh so real. Love Damon and Trixie together. I just hoped that they would realize that they are so right for each other and that they love each other. I was sent a free book and am choosing to leave this review. I would highly recommend reading this very steamy romance!!!
Damon is a firefighter and all the women swoon when they see him or talk about him. Trixie owns a flower business but is having a huge problem with the pipes and her landlord skipping out on the lease. When it looks as if she will have to close the shop, Damon steps in and offers her a deal she cannot refuse. Marry and use what is at his disposal for whatever she needs and marriage in name only…only that does not happen that way! They are cozy together but both are confused as to what the other really wants. Many things transpire that make them realize just how special the other one is…but one incident shows Trixie that Damon does not want certain things in his life, which is now a problem! What will she do?
"We stared at each other like we'd just been in an accident and didn't know quite what had happened. She'd jokingly proposed, and I'd readily accepted." It was suppose to be in name only, so what happened? This is a well-written friends to lovers, secret baby romance. The characters have amazing chemistry.
Trixie's flower shop is a disaster. She doesn't have any collateral to get things fixed. One night out with friends and she jokingly proposes to Damon, the guy she's had a crush on since the seventh grade.
Damon is a firefighter. He's had a crush on his mom's best friends daughter forever, but she's totally off limits for many reasons. One night out with friends and he jokingly accepts Trixie's proposal.
A great story I thoroughly enjoyed. Trixie and Damon are great characters. Childhood family friends. Both have admired each other from afar. Both wary of approaching the other incase their mothers get carried away and complicate things. Trixie's flower shop is struggling with its infrastructure. After a major water leak Trixie is drowning her sorrows when Damon sees her and offers a solution. Will their fake relationship solve their problems. Can they resist each other and belive that it could become real. An engaging story that kept me engrossed. Good character detail and story depth. I loved these characters and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I definitely recommend this book and author. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This was a really cute story. Damon and Trixie had been friends for a long time, their mothers were best friends, they both had crushes on each other, but didn’t want to do anything about it in case they ruined their friendship. They had some challenges, and then Trixie asked Daman to marry her, he agreed and they started their fake marriage that didn’t stay fake for long. There were misunderstandings and times when they just were too chicken to tell each other how they felt that they nearly missed out on a happily ever after, but they finally talked it out and shared their love for each other.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.
A Love That Was Fated - I really enjoyed the story and didn’t want it to end. The characters had a depth to them, that made their engaging banter interesting and entertaining. Natasha Black did a great job with the slow development of their relationship from friendship to a real family. Their chemistry was hit enough to burn the pages, but their insecurities made it difficult for them the accept the inevitable. This is a relatively steamy read with a bit of drama, that ultimately leaves you feeling good by the time you finish reading the book.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Trixie and Damon have been around each other all their lives as their mothers are friends, but since Damon is a couple years older they have not been in the same circle of friends. When Trixie needs help though, their situation changes, and they start a relationship as husband and wife of convinience. Things are never that easy though. The reason for the three stars only was because it took too long for them to actually talk to each other. Most of the story they do and say things based on what they think the other person is feeling and that got a little annoying.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Really loved this book, it has a great storyline and the characters were perfect too.Trixie's business needs a loan but due to circumstances, the bank won't loan to a single woman. In steps Damon he sees her at a bar feeling sorry for herself and he just wants to help. Plus he has a crush on her so that helps. He offers his place to use as back up for the bank, and Trixie jokes let's just get married, Damon says ok sure and she is stunned. Only that's what they do. It's great to watch them grow as people and as a couple. It's a great book that's well written. Highly recommend

My Fake Husband is the second book in the Rockford Falls Romance series and is the story of Trixie and Damon. I liked this friends to fake to more romance. It is nicely written with a couple who are meant for each other, which they both know but neither is willing to admit to the other. There is drama, a whole lot of angst, romance, misunderstandings and assumptions galore and some sizzling chemistry. There were some parts that seemed to drag on for me but overall it was a good read to get lost in.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh what a beautiful heartwarming story about about Damon and childhood friend Trixie. Trixie needs help badly, after her flower shop has water damage, she needs money badly to fix it. When Damon offer her a fix to solve the problem, especially when it a fake marriage option, should she say yes. This story had so much going on....drama, family worries, chemistry and that’s for starters. The chemistry between them was good and everything about it was good and grabbed my attention and especially anything with babies in. Loved it
I really enjoyed this romantic cozy, with a lot of laughs! Our friends to lovers story is funny, sweet, tender, defy all ingredients for a delightful read! He is a fireman , who marries her so she can get a loan to buy the building in which her flower shop is located. She is sweet, awkward, lacks self confidence, funny, says what she thinks, and has a crush on him from her teen years. Their unusual relationship has many hurdles and misunderstandings before reaching HEA! I now plan to read the first book in this promising trilogy!
Damon and Trixie have known each other for years and have had crushes on each other for just as long. When Trixie needed a loan for her business they decide to fake a relationship so she could get the loan. The more time they spend in their fake relationship it starts turning into a real one but not without some interesting twists and misunderstandings along the way. My Fake Husband is a small town romance with likable characters, humor, steam, and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
