Treated like a mouse in a glass box all of her life, Shilo ran at the first opportunity and has been in hiding ever since. Usually cautious of her surroundings, Shilo is lost in thought when she encounters a lycan ready to attack. With electro-kinetic talents it is easy to subdue him, but she had not planned on a second lycan before she passes out.
Prime alpha, Dante doesn't know what to make of the woman he has taken. Not wanting to be zapped he is cautious of keeping her at a safe distance, but his wolf wants to mate. Dante needs to find out more about the mysterious lady, before he can determine if she truly is his mate.
I always like Madelaine Montague's books, there is a different angle in each book and this one does not disappoint. The lycan's are cajun is purely sinful, talk about a hot read. Another fantastic shifter read.
***reread, just as good as the first time. I had forgotten a lot of the plot so it still seemed like a fresh read. The big standout is Maurice who is a romantic at heart.

As the cover suggests, this book does include multiple sex partners, just not necessarily at the same time. I am not a fan of menage storylines but in this instance, I was surprised to find that it fit. I'm rather impressed that the author was able to pull it off.
And this book has a plot! It may not be the most original plot but I enjoyed it. The characters are interesting and there is enough action (a little gruesome too, which is all the better) and steamy scenes that I wasted a whole nights sleep in finishing this. I plan on checking out the authors other books when I need a quick erotic fix. :)
Now, what this book really needs is a good editor with a big fat red pen! Too many mistakes that really detracted from the story. I am understanding of a few but these were very obvious.

I get the feeling that I read these books out of order, that is assuming that Cry of the Wolf and Wolfen are part of the same series. It didn't really end up mattering, but I'm one of those that likes to see things through from beginning to end. No worries. I'll read them all. I have to say that there were things about the Lycan mythology that weren't made quite as clear to me as they could have been, but I soldiered through and figured things out eventually.
When Dante catches the scent of a human while he's out hunting a Rogue Lycan he's immediately drawn to her. He takes her captive (for her own safety, of course) and brings her into his own home. It turns out that Shilo's a psychic human with the Feds on her tail for running away form a government facility. Dante and his Pack have to protect Shilo while convincing her that she'll be safe with them.
I liked the story overall, but I did think that Shilo gave her trust rather easily to these four men who she had never met before, especially since all of them were trying to get into her pants from practically the get-go. As a warning, if the thought of multiple partners squicks you (not necessarily at the same time, but the upper level members of the Pack do share their women - which is explained because the men outnumber the women by some ridiculously high margin), you might not like this book. Shilo has sex with all four of the men. Repeatedly. I was actually okay with that.

What a surprise this book was. It had a few rave reviews so I thought to try it out and was not disappointed at all.
This story involves Shilo, a psychic with the ability to wield electrical currents, who is on the run from the Federal government for over 10 years. She is a strong independent woman that is very lonely. She finds herself in lycan territory and under attack by a rouge lycan. The prime alpha of the territory, Dante, saves Shilo from the attack only to take her as prisoner until he can find out why that rogue wanted her so badly.
This story has a really sound plot and there were no dull moments. There were times when I wanted to throw something at that Dante for not sharing his plans with Shilo( plans that involved her). But as the prime alpha male over multiple packs, he's not used to taking orders, just giving them. Shilo is a strong independent women and doesn't always do it Dante's way.

Fun werewolf ménage. I like M. Montague's stuff on the whole. This one had a few weak areas mostly in the lack of characterization in the 3rd and 4th guys and I think it would have worked better with just two. But I liked the conflict the main guy had after having always said that werewolves shouldn't mate with humans and now he has to deal with being attracted to a human woman.

For me was like if the author had different ideas for different books but applied them all to one. It's all jumble up, jumping from one scene to another and forgetting to establish a relationship with ALL of them and not just the Alpha and his second. Oh! And she forgot to give it an ending. (But lest be honest Kaitlyn O'Connor mostly forget, rushed, skipped the endings.) still, great story teller.
That being said, it was easy to read (the word flow thru the pages) and sexy scene where HOT, and I like the characters.

She asserted her independence when she left after being kidnapped by strangers. She immediately welcomed them with open arms when they stalked her home. She invited four men into her bed without knowing their names or questioning them being in her safe house. She fell in love with them after only knowing them for less than a week with half the time either passed out drunk, recovery from sex induced coma, or recovery from electricity power overload.
Seriously this could have been worse if she did know they were manipulating her and she accepted them anyway because she wanted a 'pup' baby and to no longer be alone.

I usually love a good romance alpha story with a strong female lead.. but I cant stand it when all the aspects that make her . The whole time I was waiting for her to figure out that her "wolves" were manipulating her into this lifelong relationship but when she did figure it out she was like "oh well don't want to stir the pot". Also I know she's grateful for the fact that she's having amazing sex but when there are four men who are rotating through your bed, I think a modern day woman would ask questions least of which,includes questions about the use of protection in their lovemaking.

This book was a little crazy. I was a little distracted by the fact that after Dante caught/rescued Shilo from a rogue wolf, he started making plans to mate and 'breed' with her after he finds out that even though she's human, she also has psychic powers, so he can mate her. And then she was going to be passed around to his lieutenants to also mate and breed with her. She didn't have a CLUE. I keep waiting for one of them to tell her what was going on. So, they are mating/bonding with her and she just thinks she's having sex with some really hot looking guys that don't mind sharing. So it's almost the end of the book when one of the men finally tells her what was going on, then added that she would have known if she had bonded with them like they did with her.
It was kinda strange the way it ended, but I still like it. I'm looking forward to checking out other books just to see if they are as crazy as this one. lol

Madelaine is one of my favorite authors and while I don't think this is as well done as some of her other work that I've read, it is still a delightful read that I have just finished reading for the second time.
Madelaine does an excellent job of bringing to life all the male characters which is a bit unusual in menages with more than a couple men. The main reason it didn't get 5 stars is that it felt unfinished. There were just so many things that were only briefly touched on that I wanted way more info about. I would also like to read Julie's story but I have my doubts that will happen. I don't know of any of the author's other books that build on one of the secondary characters for a different book.
In any event, I would highly recommend this story to any shifter lovers out there, particularly ones who like alpha males in a menage situation.

Overall this was a good book but there were just some points in the plot that just...didn't make the story flow. The beginning of the book, the introduction, was fairly random as the Madelaine Montague just throws the main male character at you.
I also couldn't help but see silly grammatical mistakes as well. In a way it took away from the story as well as the fact that each chapter wasn't on a separate page. The formatting of the kindle books needs work.
But I did like the story (even if the ending was a little short-strung) and the characters were a lot of fun to read about. :)

Well this was the weakest of the series. The ending was so disappointing. I didn't get the satisfaction of a HEA and love heals all, yadda yadda yadda. Sure, it was more realistic as the author sometimes incorporates in her stories to lend more reality but why???. Plus I have to say, that the idea of one human woman on the verge of her middle years satisfying so many young alpha guys is just too silly to exercise "suspension of disbelief". So the whole book just felt like a waste of time. I usually love this author's work in her various pseudonyms, but this... not so much.

Really disappointed. Loved the idea from the synopsis but it was really drawn out in places and Shilo repeated the same feelings over and over yet, had very little reaction to going from no male company to being on rotation with 4 men.
She came across as selfish in her thoughts even after she said she loved them. In the end it seemed she was with them more out of comfort and safety than actual deep emotions towards them.

I was a little disappointed with this book. Even though I rated a 4 out of 5. It was still a good book.
The reason are, it wasn't a long as the first two books in this series. The ending seemed rushed. Or added an epilogue to it. It was like, she didn't know if she was going to stay with them and bam she is.
Overall a good book. Just disappointed at the end.

I have serious issues with this book. First of all, dear author, almost thirty - five is NOT old for a woman and NOT past her breeding time. This is a theme in your books and I hate it! I'm almost thirty myself. Do I need to put myself on the shelf because, based by this author beliefs, I'm old??? What the fuck?

this was not one of my favourites by this author, I didn't feel any connection with the characters. That may just be a personal thing. It was alright , but her wolven stories are better.
