Undead Assimilation: An Apocalyptic Thriller

Rate this book
Not your average post-apocalypse.

Undead Assimilation continues the story of a short-fused detective and a mysterious vampire. This genre-bending tale grabs you from the first and drags you along through a strange, violent, and hilarious post-apocalyptic landscape.

Super zombies, deadly werewolves, and mad scientists all make an appearance, stacking up the odds against the intrepid heroes, Kurt Weller and Diirek.

Weller, a big-city homicide detective, finds himself up against superhuman entities and unspeakable evil. He must overcome his anger and hopelessness to save the ones he loves most.

The ancient vampire Diirek wanders the landscape outside the city, trying to right past wrongs and protect those most vulnerable from the normal and paranormal maniacs roaming the countryside.

In an effort to uncover the truth and prevent the slaughter of humanity, both Diirek and Weller find that their seemingly separate paths lead to the same deadly place. With the help of the few remaining vampires, they must fight to save the world . . . or die trying.

Part supernatural fantasy, part vampire horror, part paranormal thriller, and part zombie-apocalypse, the Undead Series blends human stories with fantastic monsters to deliver a page-turning saga like never before.

Holy Moses! Matthew Doggett did it again! The second book in the Undead Trilogy is just as fast paced and full of surprises as the first one.

Zombies, Vampires, and now Werewolves? And werewolf monkeys and giant bat monsters and yet there’s still some people who are just plain evil and need to be vampire food and one guy who is such a monster that he can’t stop creating other monsters.

In the midst of this our favorite, well, I can’t call them people, characters are still developing, having funny interactions, forming relationships, revealing themselves to the reader in well written scenes that show rather than tell the story. Oh yes! Bring it on!

An evil mastermind, Zombies, Vampires, and Were-monkeys?

This is still going strong. The friendship between Vampire and human is building while the evil mastermind starts to revel part of his plan for world domination. Yes, I sound like the Brain, of Pinky and the Brain, only I think they were more ethical. The vampires seem to be losing and I really want them to survive. Waller the cop had to be turned to survive the battle with Buck. However; the darkness in him likes to take control, will he let it win?

A light hearted look at the zombie genre

Quite detailed at times and follows on well from book 1. I would imagine this could be a
light hearted look at the zombie apocalypse. The main character Weller comes across as so!e quick with witty answers at times and leads a tangled life with zombies bent police officers and vampires add to that his ex wife and you can see why. Those are the only spoilers from me and I must say I enjoyed reading it and have already started book 3

Undead: Assimilation An Apocalyptic Thriller

And another brilliant read by Matthew Dogget! Following on from the first book the story continues for Detective Weller and his new vampire friends! Kill the zombies, save the world from mad men and werewolves. Yes werewolves! and breath! I’m on my way straight onto the third !!

just lost the excitement;

I really loved the first book. But this one? Not for me and I lost interest and that’s never happened while reading a book. So sorry. I actually just stopped reading early in the book.

Amazing narration from Matthew Crow, who brings out the action, pace and humour.

Weller's quick with his witty replies, made me laugh. He needs his humour as his life now includes l zombies, bent police officers, vampires and a ex wife .

A great listen.

With zombies and vampires how can humans survive? It is a challenging time for humanity.
This story has plenty of action as well as some funny moments. If you are looking for a good story and you like zombies or vampires read this one and get both.

It faltered. Seemed rushed.

The book faltered in a way the first one did not. There seemed to be a great deal of “filler” as opposed to content. I scrolled through about 30%

Characters just keep getting better along with the story. Who would’ve dreamed humans and vampires uniting to fight zombies? And the humor is still slapping.
