The Librarian's Vampire Assistant #1-3

The Librarian's Vampire Assistant Box Set: Books 1-3

Rate this book
From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a Horribly Sunny Mystery (with a sprinkle of Romance), The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Box Set: Books 1-3.

BOOK 1: NOBODY MESSES WITH HIS LIBRARIAN…

Who killed Michael Vanderhorst’s maker? It’s a darn good question. But when the trail brings Michael to hellishly sunny Phoenix, Arizona, his biggest problem soon becomes a cute little librarian he can’t seem to stay away from. He’s never met a bigger danger magnet! Even her book cart has it out for her. And is that the drug cartel following her around, too? “Dear God, woman! What have you gotten yourself into?”

Things go from bad to worse when local vampires won’t play nice.

Can this four-hundred-year-old vampire keep his librarian safe and himself out of hot water? Can he bring his maker’s killer to justice? Yesterday, he would’ve said yes. But yesterday, he didn’t have a strange connection with a librarian. Yesterday, people weren’t trying to kill her.

BOOK 2: HOW MUCH LONGER CAN HE KEEP HIS SECRET AND HIS FAVORITE HUMAN SAFE?

Michael Vanderhorst has always been a lone wolf. Or lone vampire? Whatever. Point is, this ancient gentleman vampire is obsessed. She’s quirky, a horrible dresser, and the cutest librarian he’s ever seen. The question is, why her? In four hundred years, no one has ever captured his attention like this. He must find out, which is why he just signed on as her new assistant.

The problem is, she has no idea vampires exist or that she’s just broken one of their laws. As the leader of his territory, Michael has been ordered by his council to turn her or kill her. “Over my dead body!”

To overturn the ruling, Michael needs the council on his side, and right now they’re asking him to hunt down and execute five hundred vampires no one can seem to locate. Unfortunately, his assassin days are long over, and he’s not so sure he can go back to killing.

But with Miriam’s life on the line and their unusual bond growing stronger each day, will he dust off the old sword or give her the bite that will make her his forever?

BOOK 3: FALLING IN LOVE WITH A LIBRARIAN JUST CAN’T GET MORE AWKWARD…

Michael Vanderhorst is not your usual vampire. For starters, he works in a library, is in love with Miriam, his hot nerdy human boss who has no clue what he is, and he looks like a college student.

In reality, Michael is an ancient deadly vampire, an ex-assassin, and is currently the de facto king of his kind ever since their ruling party disappeared. To where? He doesn’t know, but if he wants his life back, he’ll have to find out. (Mystery!) Especially because a civil war is brewing and being king makes his librarian a mark for his enemies. She is, after all, his biggest weakness.

With a global uprising about to explode, Michael must give her the protection of his army. Only one problem: She must become his queen first. But every attempt he makes to tell her the truth is met with extreme hostility. “Vampires aren’t real. That’s crazy talk, Michael!” Clearly, the topic frightens her.

With time running out and her life on the line, Michael is left with one option: Marry her. Without her knowing.

Can he pull it off? And what will happen when the fight comes to their door?

This one was a DNF for me.

Just wasn’t something that I was enjoying at all. I left
It at about 30% in on the first book.

A great fun series of short books. Humour was wonderful. Character portrayals were interesting. Story line was interwoven. If you want a quick read, without too much to think about, this is the series for you. A great Clayton’s book…the book you read in between books. I prefer more in depth story lines but these were very short books. A bit repetitive at times…why do authors assume that readers forget what they have read? I think the reader who is in their late teens might enjoy this series more than an adult reader…it was not really delving into the story as much as skimming the surface and then introducing a new twist. If I were to compare the book to a drink, it would be like ordering a scotch, lemonade and ice but omitting the scotch…lolly water. Enjoyable lolly water. As for the story…well…you will just have to read it for yourself…LOL…don’t moan, they are short stories. You will get some good laughs.

Books 1 and 2 were 5 stars….

****The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Boxed Set(1-3) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff: Books 1 and 2 were 5 stars, but book 3 was 3 stars.
This story series (books 1&2) is quirky, and after a slow start, pulled me in. The writing style is different and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed them. The characters are complex, hilarious, and interesting, and the story is a fast paced merry-go-round. A traitor in the midst. An ultimate betrayal and a framing. Secrets revealed and a war. This is an entertaining story that I didn’t want to put down.
Then Book 3 has a lot of filler with strange happenings that make no sense. Not much action for much of the book, but a lot of crazy. Ends on a cliffhanger and there are 3 more books. If book 3 had been like books 1&2 I’d probably continue the series.

A cheesy, guilty pleasure. I liked these books because the story is so random. The characters are like nothing I've ever come across before. Told in the first person POV (Michael a 400 year old vampire) the story unfolds as he meets a clutzy but adorable librarian while trying to investigate the death of his creator and mentor.

The reader never really knows what's going on because the plot has so many twists and turns, ridiculously over-the-top situations and some truly bizarre characters. It was a fun ride, and although there is a cliff-hanger ending, I am happy to jump off this crazy train at book 3.

This book contains descriptive love scenes.
I also loved the fact the author gave herself a cameo in the story ;)

This was a quirky romantic paranormal cozy. These first three books read as one, in a way. You don't get all the secrets out of the way until the third book, so you almost have to read these three to get the whole story. And it's the screwiest set up I've ever come across. It's not bad, it's just off the wall. First it was just her library going under, now it's the whole world in danger. And who they can trust is changing from moment to moment it seems. But one thing is for sure, they are HOT for each other. Now, are their feelings due to her being what she is or do they really love each other? Oh boy...

Addictive paranormal rom/com. I LOVED these books! I literally couldn't put them down. For the unitiated, think Terry Pratchett meets Twilight! Michael is a 400 year old vampire who travels to Arizona to search for his creator/mentor; he enters a library to shelter from the blazing sunlight and encounters quiet and unassuming Miriam. I loved the development of their relationship as well as the (sometimes outrageous) characters the reader meets along the way. The plot twists and turns often producing unexpected happenings; many characters are not what they seem and keep you guessing. A great read - can't wait to start the next one!

This book set will take you on a crazy ride you were never expecting. You will read through these quickly because you need to know what happens next.

Michael is a vampire and Mariam is a librarian who is accident prone. The books are based around Michael who has just lost his best friend and things just get a bit crazy from there. He starts feeling things he hasn't felt in hundreds of years and things are just off. He's not sure what to make of any of it but he keeps going. What other choice does he have.

This book is full of crazy twists and turns that will keep you guessing and on your toes.

Can't Get This Time Back

I'll make this short. Could not identify with the characters...too young and they acted their age...immature. Other characters, such as Mr. Nice, were simply ridiculous. Writing even seemed immature at times.
The first book was okay, but it was a downhill fall from there, so I just quickly skimmed the 2nd and 3rd books to see if two of the characters got together. I thought that storyline would end with the 3rd book, but apparently you have to read more books to find out. I, personally can't do anymore.

I enjoyed this book

I liked the characters, Mr. Nice was hilarious. I loved the comedy. I enjoyed the story as well. It was a different take on vampires and their weaknesses. Miriam's absolute clumsiness was just hilarious. Michael's character I wanted to be a lot more ruthless. He lived centuries and just learned how to enjoy his immortality. The mystery was great, I never suspected who it was. The only thing I didnt like is it repeated so things from the previous book, otherwise it was great. I'm looking forward for the next part

So-so story & a cliffhanger

This three book set wasn't really a romance. There was graphic sex in the last book but no real romance. And why call them vampires? They were more like humans that drank blood. Should have made them aliens that drank blood. I skipped 2/3's of each book. Just read the beginning and ends. But, wait! There really isn't an end since they are cliffhangers....

What a treat these books are!

I found these books by accident after struggling to find something to capture my interest, after starting and stopping a few books that didn’t grip me from the start. What an absolute joy to read! Funny and different and enthralling. Cannot recommend them enough. A fantastic escape from real life. Will definitely be reading more of this author’s work.

Great series

I can't believe I read these books in a single day. It's a comedy of series for Miriam, who has to be the world's biggest clutz. Michael is the vampire that and into her library, she sets out to interview him for the assistant librarian position. He has no clue as to why, but he accepts and the chaos ensues. Poor Michael winds up in more hot water than a little bit trying to keep Miriam safe. It's a fun read and I highly recommend it!

I have read a few of Mimi's books and loved them. This one, however, is definitely not at par with the others.

There is certainly an interesting storyline going on here and I agree it is possible only because of Michael - who he is as a person and as a vampire. I loved the way one mystery after the other keeps piling on and each reveal is a bigger surprise than the one before and it completely twists everything around. However, I feel that somewhere it losses its brilliance in keeping Michael's persona and the (imagined) romance in his life intact.

It is quite funny, but after a while these moments begin sounding more silly than anything else and drag on and on. Not to forget our protagonist Michael's endless monologues on how great he is and everything he has done or is doing. Too much for me.

Absolutely NICE set

Oh man what can I say about this set...so funny, adventurous, sweet, twisted...and a lot more besides!! Can't get enough of Miriam and Michael..even Lula and Alex and how they keep throwing a loop. Going to be rooting for the rest of the series in a box set (will be searching once I submit this!!) You won't be disappointed getting this one....

Librarians vampire assistant

A wonderful fun read. This was a total surprise find. I originally picked this series because I was bored and looking for something different. The author has a wonderfully different sense of humor that I really enjoyed. ( vampire torture....enforced listening to Air Supply?)

These book have a good mystery and unexpected twists that keep you guessing. I've read books 1-3 in this box set and I don't have enough interest to continue the series. Over the top storyline that I'm just not in the mood for, which is my problem and not the author's. I like the writing style and the POV from the vampire male's perspective and wit. If you're looking for a PG-13 read, this is for you.

The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Box Set: Books 1-3

Well that was certainly a different book! Lots of humor and a guy who is so stuck on himself. It was hilarious in so many parts. But then there was Nice! He was a character all on his own! If you want a really different kind of book, this is it!!!

Talk about a twist!!!

I find it easy to predict what'll happen in stories I read, even though I love them I still predict a lot. However to read this book was indeed a surprising twist! Provo!!! 👏👍🎉
And good luck to Michael 😊 I can't wait to keep reading and find out what happens next!

Enjoyable

I loved this set of books that tell Michael and Miriam's story. Michael is a vampire who is attracted to the human librarian. He goes to hot sunny Arizona for a job but stays in town to explore his attraction to Miriam. In the meantime a lot of odd events occur and Michael must figure out what to do. Entertaining!

Enjoyed the Banter :)

Love the characters. Love the humour and the banter between the main characters.I was a bit disappointed to find that I must purchase a fourth book or fifth book to know how the story ends. But like I said I enjoyed the story so I may purchase the other two.

Dude

All the puns, humor, jokes and sarcasm. I laughed so much. Mr. Nice is so my favorite.
I had read number 1 before so that was a reread but it was nice not having constant cliffhangers. Very dramatic. Some good twists.

Not even sure what to say! Funny, fast, mysterious. Michael is your vampire. Miriam is your librarian. This 3 book set was a good read. I recommend. And what a twist in book 3. I was surprised. Well onto book 4. I think book 6 is the last and final. I can’t even imagine how this will truly end.

I found this series to be highly entertaining and enjoyed the irreverence. Overall, I found it a bit repetitive and there was just too much if a contradiction between the touted skills and experience of Michael and his naive and almost juvenile process and decision making for me.

Bored

Michael never seemed real nor his connections. The whole librarians assistant also felt false, very contrived. Also for being 400 he wasn’t very clever.
