EPIC CONCLUSION TO THE BLACKWATER PACK SERIES!!!
Where to begin...
I remember when I first read Sanctum thinking this is only the start to an amazing story. Being able to witness Skye's character development and growth from a traumatised, reluctant Omega to a brave, confident Alpha was truly spectacular. Not only her growth, but her mothers as well was inspiring.
This has got to be hands down my favourite shifter series. Legacy picked up straight after Prey and I immediately was hooked. From the beginning, our introduction to Nikolai was one of my favourite scenes. He quickly became one of my favourite characters. Also with a noteworthy mention that Natasha's humour and banter were hilarious.
As the story progressed there were moments where I was brought to tears. ESPECIALLY THE EPILOGUE. The final chapter was such a bittersweet read that produced a watery smile out of me. I was very content that my favourite characters had received their HEA.

This series has made a long time fan of Hannah McBride and I endeavour to read more of her work.

That was such a wholesome epilogue. I love it.

My baby Skye has grown up so much ever since the first book. I'm so happy she got her happy ending.

All I can say is that this book was a great conclusion for the series. I like the pacing, I feel like every event was set in the right part and it didn't drag anyway. I also love that the threat in this book was completely dealt with without leaving any doubt for any loose threads.

So yeah. If I could describe this trilogy as it is, I wouldn't say this is your typical wolf shifters romance. It's more of a tone down, emotionally driven (less plot-driven) and imagine a YA contemporary but with wolf shifters and mates.

I was so excited to see how this story would unfold, and it definitely lived up to wildest expectations!
We’re introduced to some fantastic new characters in this book, including one who is the love interest in the next book, and the couple for the book coming out in 2023. I can’t wait!
The final showdowns were very satisfying, though I did feel like the book dragged a little toward the end. I think it’s because the bad guys that I cared about most were dealt with earlier in the book. The stakes were still high later on, but I really cared about revenge against the back that wronged Skye, and that’s resolved quite early on.
All in all, a fantastic read!
HEA?

Wow. What an ending! Spectacular and a perfect ending for Skye and Remy. This book takes you on a roller coaster of a ride with your emotions. The book gives us all the answers we’ve been wanting.. or well NEEDING! Skye and Remy are such an amazing and strong couple and I love how they have evolved and become the best version of themselves together. Learning the give and take and sharing control. Remy is the ultimate alpha and all the males give you to swoony feelings. All the new characters and additions completed the series for me in a way that leaves you wanting more but also feeling satisfied with the ending. Love, Passion, Family and making your own pack.

If you want to read a book where a female protagonist has a strong/powerful story arch this is not the end you are looking for. I had multiple pet peeves with this book, which I listed below, but the first two paragraphs are rants about why it got the 1 star rating. If I could give it even less I would.

If Skye is supposed to be this all-powerful alpha, why is it that Remy is always having to save her? She gets to be self-sacrificing but not physically stronger than the men? This theme has carried through the entire series. I didn't hold it against the series because of the trauma that Skye endured for her entire life. It would make sense for a slow burn, but this was more of a burnout. Skye had so much power and it was only tapped into to boost those around her. Her potential was limitless and far exceeded Remy's, but she stood in his shadow like a good little mate. It's not even Remy's fault because he tried to encourage her more and support her. Even when there were opportunities for Skye to show what she was really made of, the author snatches it back and gives it to other men. How did the main character read as a supporting role? What makes it worse is that the series tries to act like it's all about equality and female empowerment but I see very little of it, especially when men are fighting all their battles for them. It is so disappointing since the female characters were actually more dynamic.

What disgusts me most is the concept of a true mate bond in this series. A true mate bond can be broken when one of the mates cheats and sleeps with someone outside of the bond. RAPE under this category. So when a woman is raped, she is cheating on her partner? Its victim-blaming. If anything, a true mate bond should alert the other of the pain/fear/hurt their partner is experiencing. Cheating is a choice. Cheaters are choosing to break that bond. Rape victims are being violated mind, body, and soul. If there is anything that should help them overcome that, it's their true mate bond. How strong is a true mate bond if it can be taken so easily? And outside of fertility its seems pretty pointless.

This one is just a personal preference, but I really don't like harem relationships. Entertaining multiple men is one thing but to have multiple true mates takes away from the significance of a true mate. Also, it's said in this universe that many alpha females used the have harems because one man couldn't satisfy all her needs. Is it that hard for a strong individual man with the whole package to accept his mate as his alpha? Or is the concept of a perfect man only available to women who can submit to them? The concept of a true mate is flimsy at best in this series.

Also, the idea that they do not believe in magic is just ridiculous to me. You literally turn from human to wolf AND talk about your wolf like it is its own being BUT you don't believe in magic? You think that's just genetics? oh please.

With the species dying out, you would think that they would share this wealth of fertility knowledge over the world. Especially since this was a widely known concern for North American packs. They were going to let their species die out on an entire continent? I am not talking about the experiments being attempted. I am referring to the common knowledge (well at least in the other continents) of how they are able to find their true mates.

The aversion to shifting in front of others does not make much sense to me when you are a naturally born shifter. It should be natural and not sexualized like it is in this series. I see it as sexualized because the men get possessive over their mates when men see them change. However, getting naked and shifting puts a shifter vulnerable state. I would think they would want to be surrounded by their pack in a time of vulnerability. It should be a sign of trust to turn in front of another person. Shouldn't the people you trust most be your pack?

Is it May yet?!!! I need this book in my life..

* After reading *
I need a few days to gather my thoughts enough to write a review. 😳

**
Hey guys!! How's the weekend going? It's been hectic for me so far but the good kind. Anyways..
Legacy by Hannah McBride. It is the third and final book of Blackwater pack series. YA (NA from the second book) shifter romance.
The plot line briefly:
Skye Markham after a long time of abuse escapes her home pack along with her mother and seeks refuge in one of the neighbor packs. She finds more than the sanctuary she expected. She finds love, friendship, family, hope. And the courage and inner strength she always had. Remy is everything most of today's heroes are not. He's loving, attentive, caring, sensible, intelligent, funny, not a manwhore (important point). And I can talk pages about Remy without breaking sweat so we'll leave it at that. 😂 The beautiful journey of her healing, the bliss of true love and the politics of her home pack span the first two books. Now in this conclusion we see Skye and Remy fighting one last time for their love amidst shocking revelations and plot twists. And shocking they were. There was never a dull moment through the ENTIRE series. Totally binge worthy. I have the attention span of a child so that's rich coming from me. Lol. And all the sparkling and twinkling in that picture is kinda symbolic actually. Whenever I read Skye she reminds me of this line," When it's dark, look for stars" AND she always does that.
I've been obsessed with this series since last year. This is a YA ish shifter romance but with a lot of steam (NA from the second book) The characters are all plenty mature unlike the usual Mc's in this genre.
Shifter romance is a trope that's been in play for a long time now and all the plot lines got used up somewhere along the way. This series is a totally different idea and portrayal of it. So make sure to check it out and if you do give it a try, lemme know how you like it!
I just realised how difficult it is to write a review for the conclusion of a series without a previous follow up. I think I did fine all things considered. 😂
Happy reading and Happy weekend!!

This is the end of Skye’s and Remy’s story. I liked it but there are a few things that were left open (not spoiling which ones I mean). And the epilogue is 10 year after the adventure ends and that leaves some other questions too.

But the author already showed that there will be a book about Addi and Nick coming at the end of the year. So there might be others for other characters in the future too.

The Characters: Names

WOW!!! Every time I read a Hannah McBride book, I think 'this is amazing, it can't get any better than this' and then the next book is even more amazing than the last. The pace of this book is phenomenal! You will not want to put it down, you will want to skip everything that is not reading this book.
We go on such a deep personal, emotional, and spiritual journey with Skye from the timid, insecure and traumatized girl she was in Sanctum, to the strong, fearsome, woman and leader that she becomes in Legacy. We get to see how positive relationships (with your blood family or your chosen family) can help you grow as well as those around you.
I have really felt this book in my soul and it is so rare that a book effects you in such a way or that the characters stick with you long after the book is on the shelf. Hannah navigates all the spectrum of emotions with ease and a masterful hand. You will laugh, you will cry, you will get hot and bothered and wonder if maybe you shouldn't be reading this part on your lunch break. Most importantly, you will feel LOVE. The love that Skye has for Remy, her family, her friends, and her packs. The love that Remy has for Skye and his pack. The love that is still left to come. And most importantly, the love that you will have for these characters and this story. They will feel like your friends, and your pack. If you haven't read this series yet, do it, you won't regret it.

4,5 stars for Remy and Skye

The final part of the story is here and Skye is gone. On a plane she finally learns more about her past, and has to face her future.

Much more side characters I would have loved to meet in further stories but the epilogue their stories (futures) where revealed already.

Remy and Skye had me crying so hard all through that book. Especially when she finally finds closure on her childhood I sobbed so hard. I adore this story for thd way I could dive onto the world and feel like being part of it. This book has multiple grand moments of fights, revelations and triumph. The epilogue was almost a touch too much. I would have lived perfectly fine with an open end and thd hope, there might come more. 😉😁

****SPOILER HEAVY****

Before I jump into everything, I want to give a bit of background info:

Legacy was one of the few books due to release in 2021 that I was impatient to have my hands on. I became an instant fan after blowing through Sanctum and Prey and began to follow Hannah McBride's spoiler pages pretty closely - sharing as well as promoting the series regularly on book talk discord servers. One of the main reasons that I fell in love with Sanctum was because of the author's unique approach to the shifter world and alpha/omega set-up. Hannah has several relationship dynamics and is extremely inclusive. Her skill in writing is honestly phenomenal and the plot for the storyline only improved with each addition to the series.

So why did I rate this book a 1⭐?

**INCEST/GROOMING**

There are very clear elements of incest in the series. The readers are first introduced to this idea when Larkin dates "twin brothers" Kyle and Konner from the Blackwater Pack. The relationship never progresses past a few chaste kisses, so I will admit, I turned a blind eye to the whole situation despite the concerns I had. However, as the story picks up momentum more and more similar red flags began popping up. For example, there is a throuple in the story - which is absolutely fine, UNTIL we learn that they're all "technically" siblings since two of the individuals were adopted. Keep in mind that all of these characters are 18, 17, and younger. In fact, Larkin is 15 turning 16 when she ends up becoming Rhode's mate (he is 18-19).
Book 3 approaches relationships from an even more progressive ideological stance, and explores alternative lifestyles eagerly - showcasing the most diversity in representation presented in the series thus far. The "twin kink" is mentioned here and there but is explored more directly when one of the young ladies, Ainsley, becomes the mate of twin brothers Kyle and Conner - and yes, it's not just sharing, they're 1 couple (later on the 3 of them are shown to have children together, as a unit). That's not even the last of it, Remy's younger brothers also go through the whole process. I'm pretty sure that the author would like to explore this even further and there may be a book or 2 mapped out for later release. Just in case you were wondering, being RELATED - freaking IDENTICAL TWINS - is not even looked at as a problem (WTF?). The subtly of this whole idea is absolutely abhorrent and very concerning since these books are labeled as YA on Amazon. The undertones of grooming throughout the series make it even worse. A great example of this is the bonding wave. Several of the adults, the scientist, Skye's blood father and Lulu manipulate Skye and Remy's relationship to benefit them and all the clans. In the books, the two of them finally solidifying their bond through intimacy initiates all of the shifters to begin bonding. The adults of the series use this to their advantage both secretly and outright, conducting experiments on Remy and Skye to test the limits of their bond. There are even several times where the whole group of characters sit down and talk about Remy and Skye's sex life and why maintaining a healthy relationship would be good for their people. But I digress, in regards to the multiple twin relationships McBride tries to explain it in terms of a "sharing is caring" point of view. Excuses such as "it isn't incest because it's more like a threesome" are also explored - which is complete bullshit because remember, THEY ALL GET MARRIED. This is **disgusting** and it is not normal, it is not okay. I honestly do not know why more people have not pointed this out.

As a side note, I think that it is very telling that all of the sets of twins are "male", not one female set has been mentioned...

To make matters even worse, at the end of the book we get a 10yr time shift. It focuses in on all the characters, their mate(s), kids, and the grandparents. Skye and Remy's eldest son, who is "7", is clearly showing signs that his mate is Leia (the daughter of Rhodes and Larkin). Rhys tells Remy that he can't be around another child, a boy named Luke, because it upsets him when Luke plays with Leia. Rhys goes on to say that it also upsets him when anyone plays with her but he specifically dislikes the closeness Luke and Leia have and he struggles to express the depth of his emotions, even going as far as to tell his parents that he doesn't know how. I'm sure you're wondering how the parents handled this, SPOILERS, they were more concerned with Rhys exhibiting possessiveness over the fact that their son is slowly becoming more and more reclusive. They end up telling Rhys that he needs to let it go, that he actually loves BOTH Luke and Leia and with time he will move past this. And that's it...The whole ordeal is poorly handled and even seems to follow a path reminiscent to the one concerning the main mfm throuple of the series. If you didn't get a grooming vibe before this point, you'll definitely feel uncomfortable with how THIS was handled.

I feel really bad writing such a poor review about this book. The author herself is an amazing writer and extremely talented. But this needs to be addressed and I could not ignore it any longer. I hope that this review will help potential readers before they consider adding this to their tbr lists and if that isn't enough, at least let this be a warning regarding one of the controversial topics in the series that hasn't been mentioned.

“Remy wasn’t just my mate. He was my…just mine. My best friend, my confidant, my protector, and my supporter.”

“My body wasn’t mine now; it was hers. She owned every part of my anatomy from kin to soul."

I’m sitting here after having just finished Legacy and I’m trying to put my thoughts in order to write this review and do it justice. This book took me on an absolute rollercoaster ride of emotions and I loved every minute of it.

We start the book knowing that Skye and Remy are separated after the explosion at the Summit. Skye is on a plane with Dimitri, who she has just learned is her brother, and they are on the way to Russia where Skye will meet her father Nikolai for the first time ever. There is so much that happens in this book and I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m just going to say buckle up because you are in for a ride!

I love Skye and Remy so much, they may actually be one of my favorite couples ever. I’m so happy that this book was a dual POV because I really enjoyed getting Remy’s perspective in this book. You get to see the stress and the pressure that he’s under with everything that is going on. We’ve gotten to see a lot of character growth from Skye over the past 2 books and we continue to get that in this book but she’s not the only we get growth from. Since we get Remy’s POV in this book we also get to see some great character growth for him as well and I am here for it!

The usual characters are back in the book and I loved seeing them all band together and work toward a common goal. Katy, Rhodes, Larkin, Tate, Dante, and Ryder really get to show their competency and maturity level in the book and I really enjoyed seeing that. We also get to see more of Skye’s mom Addie and while her backstory is heartbreaking I was glad that we got to find out exactly what happened with her bond with Nikolai and what she went through. Addie did not have an easy life, in fact it was worse that we knew, and I think that was important for the reader to see.

We get to meet so many new characters in this book and one of my favorites is Skye’s father Nykolai.

I don’t feel like I can go into the other new characters without spoiling some things so I’m going to say that I loved these new characters and I can’t wait for everyone else to meet them.

I think I felt every emotion possible while reading this book. Seriously, I laughed, I cried, I yelled, and then I did it all over again. There is a reason that Hannah is one of the few authors that I will automatically buy the book if she’s the author without knowing what it’s about, and this book is a prime example of why. I you haven’t read the other books in the Blackwater Pack series then what are you waiting for? Go! Do it now and then read this one. I promise you won’t regret it.

“My war is theirs. And your war is mine, little wolf. Never forget that.”

“Because Remy didn’t see me as a broken girl who needed to be saved. He saw me as a person who could save herself. A survivor who hadn’t let her past decide her future. Like his equal.”

I was really honored and lucky to be chosen as one of Hannah’s ARC readers, To get the chance to read this phenomenal and epic final book, Of Skye and Remy’s story. I couldn’t wait to download my copy onto my kindle and get back into this extraordinary world. That I love so much.

This final book Legacy was so mind-blowing I didn’t want it to end, I tried to read it slowly to make it last longer lol, But so much happens in this book you just have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen, And to get to the mysterious answers that you want. It had everything. It was exciting and action packed with hot steaming romance which leaves your stomach in butterflies, Its never stops and has you gripped from page one to the last page. It was very emotional I cried and teared up a lot, Hannah’s has this beautiful way of writing and explaining these inspiring scenes that will leave you breath taken. I was so sad that I have finished, As I wanted more of this awe-inspiring story.

The characters I love so much, To see them grow and how far they have come through the series. Skye has come along way from being this shy omega to a confident and amiable women, she been through hell and has managed to come through as this strong ambitious young lady, Also a compassionate friend and a mate to Remy and her pack Blackwater, Thanks to her mother Addie getting her away from there old pack Long Mesa. She now has a lot more questions then ever and after a lot of answers while trying to get hold of her mate Remy, To hear and see if he is ok and safe.

Remy has grown so much from book one, He has become this dependable and strong man and a loyal leader for his friends and pack. He is the next in line of being alpha if and when his dad Gabe decides to retire, Remy is an amazing mate to Skye. I love there relationship and how protective of each other they are, It is awe-inspiring. They will sacrifice and do anything to keep each other safe, Its absolutely amazing and love it so much. I loved seeing them grow and tackle the unthinkable and came through together stronger then ever it just so cute its heavenly. Now Remy has a lot of responsibility hanging on his shoulders. His mate Skye is also missing which has him stressing and desperate to find her and to get her back safely with him, A lot is happening with Blackwater pack and the packs around the world. With the help of his friends and family, will they get there happily ever after they always wanted and dreamed.

This was an outstanding last book of the series, Hannah is amazing and I love her writing and passion she has put into her books, And the characters she has created, You just full in love with them, And the evil characters you hate as much as the lovable characters do lol. This is a hair-raising and spine-tingling and awesome world that I have fallen in love with. It is by far my favourite wolf shifters series ever and will stay with me forever.

So this is the last book of the original trilogy. We continue to follow the pack with companion series after this but I don’t really think Addie’s story would be in the Blackwater pack?

A good conclusion. The epilogue was adorable. I do think we didn’t get a full wrap up of the conflict…don’t we still have a couple of vans of missing women?

It was a fun series but again, not sure it really earned its >4 star rating.

CWings: kidnapping, torture, familial abandonment, child abuse, SA, bullying, no line edits so lots of minor typos and grammatical mistakes

4.5 stars! This was a fantastic finale to the series. This whole series was like a massive cathartic journey. There’s so much trauma at the beginning of it all, I loved seeing the bad guys get what's coming to them.

There’s a lot more werewolf politics in this one and it did feel a bit long at times, but altogether I didn’t mind too much. I definitely can’t wait to read her mom’s love story. If you like werewolf books, definitely check this out!

You may know that Hannah is a friend. Before this Covid thing started, she started writing Sanctum. I found out and demanded to read it. I received chapter by chapter from her. She was just writing for fun but I was POSITIVE that this book needed to be published. There were a few of us that were reading her chapter and we began insisting that she publish it. She finally gave in and the Blackwater Pack was born. You can find us on Facebook. Boy, have we grown. We are all about the Blackwater Pack. This is a word of mouth group that has fallen in love with the shifter world that Hannah built. We demand that she writes more and she does. Now there are 3 novels and and a novella in Remy & Skye's story. Soon there will be spinoffs for other members of the pack. Frankly, they are the best books I've read in a while.

Legacy is the last book in Remy & Skye's story. Their story started with an emotionally spent Skye and her mother just trying to escape hell, yeah Longs Peak was really that bad. Skye's story is one of strength and triumph. She finds her mate, Remy, but that's hardly the end of their story. Together they work to make a difference in their world. They move from high school to leadership and all the fun happens in Legacy.

Should I admit that I had a hit list for this book? I did. There some characters that just needed some justice. I won't say if they all got it or not but I was not disappointed with the way things developed. That's because these characters grow and progress in a believable track despite them being able to shift into wolves.

Remy & Skye are the best. They have struggles and get mad at each other. They work together and succeed often but really they felt like friends. I believe in these characters. I hope to meet them in real life because our world would be a better place if I did. Are they perfect? Of course not, none of us are but they figured things out and that just made me happy.

The secondary characters own my heart too and I can't wait for the spinoffs to begin. There's a list there of characters that need their own story. A few I'm going to be very impatient about. A certain mom and dad are at the top of my list followed quickly by a Russian witch - um elemental.

This story picks up right where Prey left off and it's a good thing. Yeah, most readers were struggling with the ending of Prey. I knew it was okay so I just bugged the author to write faster.

It's an exciting story filled with lots of..."did that just happen?" and "yes!" moments! One in particular involved a certain jerk from Longs Peak and a new favorite character we meet in this book. No, I won't tell you more. You need to experience these moments for yourself! And I do suggest you experience them at your earliest convenience. Remy & Skey's story is so much fun. You will want to enjoy it without spoilers.

Anyway, this book is the perfect ending to their story. I very much enjoyed it and will definitely need to read it again. It's the kind of book, series that takes you through an emotional rollercoaster and leaves you whole on the other side. It's the fight in Skey that does that. She doesn't give up. It's the strength in Remy. He is always there.

I really can't recommend this series more. If you haven't started, get on that. If you need to catch, do it now.

DNF at 24% when Remy is agonizing yet again whether or standing up against the Norwood pack is the right course of action.

Honestly, I was just so bored at this point after 145 pages and only a quarter of the way through the book. There really was no meaningful relationship or character growth, and the chapters switched off between Remy and Skye on opposite sides of the world which made the plot pacing even more glacial.

The mysteries I had expected to make significant progress on by this point were why Skye's biological father Nikolai and mother Addie had broken up even though they were , where all the missing girls went, and what the hell Elias was thinking. However, we make absolutely no real progress on any of it -- Elias is still drugged and knocked out and set for questioning the next day, and who knows how many more chapters that will take. Nikolai only barely talked about himself and really developing a father-daughter relationship and seemed to focus more on convincing Skye to stay in Russia and be his heir.

I was also tired of all the dialogue between Skye and Remy which were just a bunch of "I miss you, babe" over the phone whenever they had a chance. Ultimately, I think I just don't really enjoy this type of YA urban fantasy and generally prefer more mature relationships and older characters, even though I had really enjoyed the first book set in the academy. I was rather uncomfortable with the thought of all of the shifter society relying on the magical bond of two teenagers to save their species.

ARC REVIEW

Legacy is a wild ride right out of the gate. It is an action packed, romance filled, bomb dropping, secret spilling, magical adventure.

I have not one doubt in my mind that her readers will feel very satisfied with the conclusion to Skye and Remy’s story. And I am 110% sure that when reader find out about the next books she has lined up for the Black Water Creek Pack that there will be a collective scream in the fandom.

Don;t ever put me in a position of having to choose between you and our pack, Skye. It's you. Every damn time. It will always be you, babe."
While there we're couple of things that slightly bugged me, I must say that I really enjoyed the conclusion to Remy and Skye's story. Their love for each other is truly beautiful and awe-inspiring and definitely one of my favourite things about this series.

Legacy continues on from the events in Prey. Majority of Alphas have been killed in the explosion that has rocked the Summit, leaving a lot of packs without a leader and Skye has been whisked off to Russia by her stepbrother on instruction by her bio dad whom she never met. Talk about messy! 😬

Remy has taken on the role of the pack's Alpha while his dad is in the hospital after being injured in the explosion. I loved seeing Remy in charge and doing the one thing he spent his whole life preparing for. He has always put his people first, always making decisions he thought to be best for the pack as a whole, even though he second guessed himself a lot. He was a good leader, especially considering how young he was.

One of the things that bugged me was that, even though Remy had a whole council of people that are specifically there to help him in his role as an Alpha, they were in the background for majority of the story. It seemed to me that the adults let children run amok, making decisions that would impact the entire shifter community, without providing any sort of advise, guidance or wisdom.

The other thing that bugged me was that when Remy got challenged by other Alphas and they had to fight until one of them submitted or died, Remy won those fights way too easily. There were no close calls. Even the characters that were nuisance from the first book that you would have thought would be tough opponents, were easily defeated within a page or two. There were no "sitting at the edge of my seat biting my nails wondering if the crew bit off more than they can chew" moments which was a bit disappointing.

Skye has come a long way and I love the person she has become. She is strong, courageous and fearless. I admire how she handles all the hurdles being thrown at her, and I love how she is there whenever her friends need her and how she always supports Remy no matter what.

I must say I really like Nikolai, Skye's father. He was not at all what I expected and I cannot wait to read his and Addie's story. It's going to be heartbreaking if the glimpse we got into their past is anything to go by.

Of course I still adore the hell out of Skye and Remy's friends and family. I love how they stand by each other no matter what. And am I the only one that was slightly hoping that Alexei would join Tate's harem? This is the lover of reverse harem books that resides inside of me coming out. 🙈

The epilogue was super cute and it was great to see what the characters we've come to love so much are up to 10 years into the future. We are introduced to their children and it makes me wonder what plans does Hannah have in store for us. I have no doubt that whatever it is, it'll be nothing short of amazing.

Blackwater Pack series was a wonderful surprise in 2020, and now, seven months after reading Sanctum, this world has become one of my favorites and Hannah McBride on of my “no cover, no tittle, no synopse…….adding to TBR” authors. Legacy is the ending of Skye and Remy’s journey and it does not disappoint! When we have amazing, mind-blowing books one and two, we start to get nervous if the last one will be up to the expectations the other two created. Fear not, Legacy is as amazing as the others if not more!
For me this book can be divided in two parts, first we start to get answers. Yes! All those questions we have since Sanctum all those little details we are still wondering, we started to get them and finally pulling the puzzle together! A huge part of that puzzle is a certain new Alpha. I didn’t knew what to think of him at the beginning, but he turned out an amazing complex character and definitely one of my favorites. Through this new character and his pack, we get to see new shifter aspects and one thing I loved in the book was to see the differences between European and American packs.
And then things start to happen and the war brewing since Sanctum finally comes. I have to say things didn’t happen in the way that I was thinking they would, it was even better. It all made sense for the story, for the blood depts that needed to be paid! I was very satisfied with some character endings….But things weren’t simple or easy, and we get some heart-breaking moments along the book. There is a particular scene that left me in tears.
Skye and Remy are also amazing in this book. They are such a powerful couple! Remy keeps being the most swoon worthy Alpha ever, and the positions and decisions he makes in this book only show how good of an Alpha he is. But my standing ovation goes to Skye. She grew up so much since Sanctum! Its amazing seeing her saying things and taking actions she would have never, ever done in Sanctum. She grew up, she overcame her demons, she is a powerful woman, confident, funny and sweet, it’s not always easy for her, but she is a warrior and she fights.
The rest of our side characters are strong in this book, I specially love to see more of Dante, Tate and Ryder together! And Addie … she was a character that I never loved in the previous books, I admired her for everything she survived, but she annoyed me for that secret she was keeping, I didn’t get why, especially after what we find out in Prey. But now in Legacy…I love her so much! She is incredible, getting those answers, gave me a new view of her.
Legacy is a book that gives you everything you hoped for and more. Legacy epilogue is the most wonderful, perfect one I have ever read. It left me wanting so much more of this world, I cried when it ended because I wasn’t ready to leave this story and this amazing characters.
I won’t ever stop recommending this series, not only for shifters fans, but for every reader, it’s the perfect combination of our contemporary world and the magic of paranormal shifters. Hannah is an author that makes every detail count, she is a pro at dropping mind blowing turn of events, when you least expect them. She makes you cry over the most heart-breaking moments and laugh and squeal over the most wonderful ones. She created a complex, interesting world, full of amazing characters, that dig into your heart.
Legacy is a five-start read, as the rest of the series, it was an epic ending, but Hannah left some small lose ends that can be picked up for future books and I can’t wait so see what she is planning!

Heading into Legacy, there were a lot of loose strings to tie up, questions to answer, and scores to settle. Good thing Hannah McBride likes to write big books. Because by the end, all I wanted to do was start over again at Sanctum and read Skye and Remy’s story again. Everything is wrapped up so well that we’re not wanting for anything - except more books for the side characters in the Blackwater world.

Legacy picks up right where Prey left off. Remy and Skye have been separated by several continents. Both of them are dealing with some pretty heavy stuff, especially when you remember that these kids aren’t even 20 years old. They spend the first part of the book working on things from their own sides before finally coming back together again to face the biggest threat side by side.

I can see incredible character arcs for most of the characters in the Blackwater series, but none so much as Skye herself. This series really is all about finding your inner strength and realizing that are the sum of all your parts. You are not defined by one action, one place, one person or one time in your life. It took some time for Skye to get there - and some help from Remy - but, the Skye at the end of Legacy is someone to admire and aspire to.

And Remy - well, he’s always been awesome. And still is. But, be prepared to be introduced to some new men who will rival him for best book boyfriend in this series.

As you would expect, Legacy has its moments of action, suspense and tension. Some will have your jaw dropping. Others will have you reaching for the tissues. Skye and Remy’s relationship has matured, as has their intimate moments together. Well done there, Hannah. ;)

The ending of Legacy is incredibly satisfying. And rest assured - all those new characters that you will now want to see their HEAs play out before your eyes? Doors are left open so that Hannah can keep writing more stories in the Blackwater world. And thank goodness for that. Because I’m not ready to leave just yet.

This was good! I really liked Nikolai and Dmitri, and am excited for Addie to find love in the next book. I did hate how Skye and Remy were separated for 50% of the novel though. It’s like my least fav when romance series do that :(

I have no words to describe how great the reading experience of the series was. I have so much to say I'm struggling to put my thoughts into words, so I will just make sections like a school report I guess.
Also I'm not going to beware of spoiling anything so read at your own risk.

-THE STORY
Shit is really about to go down. Where the previous book was the calm before the storm and was dull at times, here we don't get a moment of rest, while not overdoing it to the amount of feeling tired like other books of the genre often make you. Hannah knows when to stop for a rest, spicing up the story with moments of love, of grief, of epic, calculated battle, of checkpoints in a characters journey, of self evaluation, or sometimes just pure humor, to give you a moment to breathe. I felt like I was riding a rollercoaster, at points screaming in fear and frustration, at others slowly climbing up towards another steep fall, taking the moment to appreciate the view.

-THE HUMOR
This book is HYSTERICAL. Its clear that Hannah is very connected to her world and her characters backstory, making each one an individual gem of pure sarcastic intelligence. She manages to construct the most unexpectedly appropriate surroundings for a PERFECTLY landed dark joke, catching me off guard each time and making me cackle like a demented chicken. Some jokes were a pattern repeating itself, like a frustrated Dima yelling "Mama..." or a sweet Lulu suddenly being hardcore murder machine material offering to melt peoples brains, and I really love when an author keeps a certain line of humor throughout a book, while funny every time it starts feeling like a personal joke we share and generally indicates on a good, well thought of structure.

-THE CHARACTERS
Never have I read a book in which I liked every single character. I've been saying this in my reviews of the previous books as well but since we met a whole bunch of new ones in this one I can't stress the point of how unusual it is for me to not be able to find even one I don't like. Even the villains are so perfectly written.
It is also the first book not written by Stephen King in which I can clearly picture each person or wolf described as clear as day. Everyone (and I mean every single person making the smallest appearance) has their own look, complete with height, eye color and even a distinguishable voice and accent. At a certain point I even had the urge to act out the fun bits at times.

-RUSSIA
I was really concerned at the end of prey, realizing the next stop is Russia. A lot of authors really can't illustrate us Russians right. I don't know how she did it, but being in Hannah's Russia felt like home even more than I imagine returning to actual Russia for a visit would feel. The condescension, the dark sarcasm and the indifferent approach to blood and murder, the snarky remarks and disregard of political correctness, making the American girl feeling uncomfortable to the level she suspects she is dealing with psychopaths was just PERFECTION. The vodka drinking uncle, making everyone cringe and reverts to Russian even though she can't understand him - ON POINT. Even Nikolai's reasoning for leaving Addie sat so well with the way I was raised, on values of family and honor and self sacrifice. I was so positively surprised, and really enjoyed the world she created with it's enchanting scenery.

-THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
I've mentioned before in my reviews of the previous books, that this is the first time reading YA that I really feel and remember that these are teenagers. Well in this book I got to feel and see them grow up in front of my eyes, with careful, well thought of conducting. Scenes like Skye beating the shit out of the old alpha house, Remy having a moment with his sister, expressing his doubts, and she owning up to being wrong before and stepping into her part in the new pack hierarchy, Rhodes fulfilling his duty as beta and replacing Remy in a fight.. Each time, elegantly, the spotlight was turned on a character to show how much it has grown, and I was all there for it.

-THE SMUT (cause everyone seems to care so much about smut)
Everyone who knows me as a reader knows I don't like spice. Being a completionist I usually suffer through it without skipping pages, and as a result I've seen a whole bunch of it and its really all the same. Not in this case.
The amount of sexy scenes was really in good taste, and while avoiding diving in to too much detailing, Hannah managed to illustrate a clear picture of a strong, sexy man who (REALLY) knows what he is doing, while being loving and considerate, taking his previously traumatized mate's needs into account. The content itself is really refreshing, there's no magic penises, almost each scene has a little quirk to it I haven't seen before. While it feels that a lot of NA and adult authors are just copying from each other, Hannah really showed them how it's done. Also I'm a bit jealous :))

-THE EPILOGUE
I hate epilogues. J.K.Rowling has ruined them for me forever.
Well, Rowling should take an example from Hannah. Starting with the same first sentence of Sanctum, Hannah manages to show the happily ever after our characters were seeking in contrast to the dark beginning of their story. The happiness seeps from the pages, while staying true to the pain of their journey and avoiding overly sweet clichés. Seeing our protagonists in their home, amongst their family, some being their usual goofballs, with children running around terrorizing everyone just wrecked me. I wish one day I'll be lucky enough to be surrounded in such love and friendship and promise for future.
Speaking of future, a lot of leads have been left open in both the book and epilogue. We know we're going to get to see Addie and Nik's journey, and recently a Dima and Lulu book was announced, but I really can't get enough and will devour anything Hannah adds to this world.

I think this is the longest review I've ever written. Phenomenal job.

I'm adding 1 more star! ⭐

So you've seen everyone talking about Legacy and started looking for reviews to see if it's worth the read and you happened to stumble upon my review...

Now I have to do anything and everything to convince you to buy the book. I have 2 words for you... just 2 words - Daddy Nik!

That's it! That's my full review...

I'm kidding! I'm kidding! But seriously Nikolai Dashkov made Remy and the boys look like exactly that - boys! Daddy Nik is all man! I thought I had him all figured out the first time I met him but he surprised me and I'm so thrilled that I was wrong! Okay let's forget about my daddy issues for now and focus on the main characters.

I did NOT see the ending of Prey coming and I sure as hell did not see any of the plot twists in this book! Hannah took everything we thought we knew about this world and turned it on its head! I just can't help but wonder if this was her evil plan all along or did she make it up as she went on.

All I know is Hannah's mind is a wonderful place and I would pay rent to live there! I cannot tell y'all how happy I am that she decided to publish her books! It's only been a year now but I can honestly say that I can't imagine a world where Hannah doesn't write!

I feel I have to warn y'all... a few people are going to die and you're gonna be sad and heart broken BUT a lot of assholes die as well and you will probably feel thrilled about that... wait... no? Guess it's just me who waited for Skye to get her revenge.

One of the things I loved is the fact that they could still make jokes even though everything was falling apart around then. It felt very Marvel and I loved that! Two new characters - Lulu and Dimitri made sure we got enough comic relief and how can I forget about Natasha? I wanna be her when I grow up!

I'm sorry but I just couldn’t give this book 5 stars! I felt compelled to give it 6 stars because of that amazing epilogue! It gave me all the feels and I cried so hard. It was just so beautiful! The perfect ending to the perfect series... but guess what... it's NOT the end of this series! Skye and Remy got their HEA but we haven't heard the last of the Blackwater Pack!

First of all, thank you so much Hannah for the ARC copy, I’m so grateful and honored.
When we know that a book is the final book we may get nervous about it, about what is going to happened, and how the characters are going to end, but with Legacy, there is nothing to worry about.

Remy and Skye’s final chapter is just as amazing as their whole story. The book stars where Prey left off, Skye is now on her way to the Narodnaya pack in Russia, while Remy is back in Blackwater trying to adapt to his new role as alpha. They both now, with their friends help, are trying to solve this huge problem the packs have had since Sanctum and trying to put together all these clues to save Blackwater from Norwood. The book is full of twists that it makes it a roller coaster of emotions, you are laughing and then crying, and then laughing and crying at the same time.

The story definitely catches you since the very first moment and as the story progresses you just want to know more but at the same time you feel so satisfied.
I’m ashamed to admit that I applied the “read slowly so it never ends” because I’m so in love with this story, with the characters, even the new ones, you can identify with each of them and its beautiful. The growth they had is exciting and inspiring. Remy is ALL I EVER WANTED, and I’ll never get tired of saying it.

"Remy wasn't just my mate. He was my...just mine. My best friend, my confidant, my protector, and my supporter"

Congratulations Hannah because I don’t think there is a more perfect ending than this one. Can’t wait to read more about you and your perfect writing, and creativity, and I hope we get to see more of Blackwater soon.

"Then I guess its a good thing I have an entire pack behind me, isn't it?" "

I know this is not the end of the road to this series but it is the end to Skye's and Remy's story.

I love these characters, Skye with all the trauma she has endured since she was born, grew to be a powerful, compassionate, loving woman.

Remy is perfect, always respectful, always a shoulder to lean on and always at her side. Letting her find her strength but being her anchor when she needed one.

The rest of the gang are amazing and I can't wait to read more about them. I want to say so much more but I don't want to fall into spoiler territory, but I can't wait to read about what happens with Skye's mom after everything that happened in this book.

The new characters are awesome Lulu became one of my favorites and I can't wait to read more about her.

I'm going to miss Remy and Sky, but at the same time I know the new stories are going to be amazing.

This book was an epic finale to a one of a kind story, that had me glued to the pages from cover to cover.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was absolutely incredible!!! There was so much excitement from the start.
We pick back up where Prey left off. If you haven't read Prey yet, go read it before you continue reading this review.
Skye is on her way to Russia, separated from her mate to be with a part of her family she didn't even know existed. Meanwhile Remy is trying to figure out how to be an Alpha.
The story packs you from the start and doesn't let you go. Hannah did such an amazing job. I was so emotional reading this book, I cried 3 times in the first nine chapters alone. An author casually breaking your heart with one offhand sentence has a true gift.
If you've read the first two books in the Blackwater Pack series you already know how amazing Hannah's writing and her characters are ❤️ So jump right into Legacy and let your heart be broken and put back together again.
If you haven't read any of Hannah's books before, what are you doing here? Go read Sanctum!!!

While I read all three of these books and enjoyed them - especially the first two - I found the vibe of book three a little too juvenile for my taste. But, in the book's defense, it is listed as YA. I also couldn't get past the idea that the packs all pledged themselves to two teenagers because... they're bonded. Some lines between Reme and Skye had me rolling me eyes too and I found their relationship less engaging than previous books. That said, I thought the story premise was interesting and that some serious topics were handled well. I may have enjoyed this a bit more it the characters were a little older, considering the positions of leadership they're pressed into and especially because the sex scenes were fairly steamy and I just kept thinking these characters are in highschool... I usually enjoy steam in my books and don't mind younger characters, but they came across as very young in this book, so I ended up skimming these parts.

"If your friends are throwing you a party, I would like to as well," Nikolai spoke up. He scanned the group of Long Mesa members. "Are there any other heads you would like? I could post them on spikes around the fence of the house for when you return to visit."

Skye stared at him. "I probably won't be back to Russia for a while."

He waved a dismissive hand. "It's cold there more often than not. The cold will preserve the heads well. Simply point them out, and we'll take care of it."

"No heads," she said forcefully. "I don't want heads as a gift. Ever. In any context."

Nikolai turned to Addie. "Sometimes she truly is more your child than mine."

Nikolai is hilarious, this made me crack up so much

This is literally the best werewolf series I've ever read. Everything was so raw and written in such a beautiful way that expressed the growth and development of Skye and Remy, both relationship and person wise. I'm writing this right after I finished the last book of Sky and Remy's journey and I already miss them so much. 🥺 It was great to see the old characters again and the new ones be integrated in. This series was such an emotional roller coaster but a good one c:

And can we talk about the spice in this book!! afvkdajhgadl

5/5 😌
