Triple Puck Players

Rate this book
Katrina Perkins has felt alone her whole life. Thirty years old and she has nothing. Drifts through everything. No friends. No life. No love. No job.

Her famous father, country singer, Brent Perkins, picks men he thinks will be perfect for her. Except they are not. She has nothing in common with them.

What interests her is the Bay City Brawlers hockey team. Especially three players. Jesse Barone, Hutch Adams and Abel Wayne. The triple threat they’re called because when the three of them bowls through the opposing team sweeps havoc and destruction.

Katrina has been following the team during the season to finally get the courage to meet them. To her embarrassment she gets that chance. When she thinks things can’t get any worse, they get better. The guys don’t think she’s a loser. They want to know her. Be with her.

Can the four of them become their own team? Will her father do everything he can to break them up? Will a past break up come back to haunt her?

⭐️/5 🌶/5

I don’t even know where to begin this book was honestly really bad but I finished it because at that point I just wanted to see where it would go.
First of all this is supposed to be a curvy girl romance, does a girl on the cover look like a curvy girl to you? I think not.
Next this is supposed to be a hockey why choose situation OK. I don’t know where that storyline went after like 30% of the book.
This turns into an Insta love situation. Which is fine but they’ve known each other for a day and they’re talking like oh I never want to see her like this again oh I always like this about her that kind of stuff it was uncomfortable.

I really wanted to like it because I got this book for free and I just wanted it to be like a little novella you kind of go into these expecting these books to be average do you know? But the writing was bad it skipped ideas and merged random ideas together and then went way too into detail about random things there is a whole paragraph about how she felt when she was sweating OK like that is wrong.

12/10 do not recommend to a friend. But also if you want to be taken on a WILD journey, give it a shot LOOOOL.

🚨Spoilers ahead….

It starts with a meeting at a bar after the hockey game that she goes to the bar to see them and then she chickens out which is fine, and then the next day they go on a date to her dad‘s concert where she has kind of a private conversation with him but it’s over the speakers so that was weird. And then she gets called up on stage and she has borderline stage fright but she’s done this routine multiple times??? And then after the concert all 4 go home together enter this stalker situation???? Two pages later she injured her hand…
Every single time a spicy scene started until about 80% of the book it was always interrupted by something they would kiss and then that would be it. When they finally did do a spicy scene it wasn’t even good I’m so upset about it. And the stalker turns out to be literally some random person.

So much potential

I read half the book and skimmed parts of the rest... unfortunately the idea of this story is great which is why I gave it more than one star, but it was full of confusing changes of scenes and strange girly(like teenage) happy ever after or just strange reactions for guys who are meant to be hockey players... In someway the girls point of view is better, more believable, except she just seems too conflicted... is she timid, low self esteem, and submissive or is she a self sufficient young woman fighting for what she wants... It seems like she is a teenager not really sure about anything... its then crazy that the guys think she is exactly the opposite of how she is... are they blind? It just is like its two different stories and I couldn't get into the story at all... I trust at the end she got her hockey players but I kinda think the barista before they went to her dad's concert would have been a better story... I like my men to be Dominant and Confident, these Hockey players are meant to be nearly 30 and Champions with not much confidence in the way they allow Kat to direct them for the majority of the story... in fact as you read it the three guys all seem to think the same... like a fantasy guy in a teenage girls dream... Sorry the transitions also contributed to how the story flows, I kept having to go back as there is no page breaks or acknowledgement that time passed from one paragraph to the next... I don't think this will appeal to adults but teens might like it... if their parents will allow them to read it... there are better written stories though.

This was... disappointing, I guess. I think with more length, the story would stop feeling rushed & disjointed. It kinda felt like a wooden rollercoaster, jerking you around the plot then flinging you down a curve.

The guys are not believably aged. They're supposed to be 30ish & act more like college kids. The main character whiplashes between insecure & ballsy - it could literally happen in the same paragraph with no explanation for the mental shift.

I think the side story with her dad meh.
I liked the side story with her ex.
I love red herring plot points.

This has a lot of potential if it were expanded upon!

Why Have 1 When you Can Have 3?!

Katrina never had to work in her life. She knew something was missing in her life, but what was it? Her father a famous country singer thinks he always knows what is best for her. When he finds out who has sparked her interest, let's just say he is not joyful about the outcome. She is extremely interested in hockey due to The Triple Threat: Jesse, Hutch, & Abel. They just want to find the number 1 woman who will complete them. Will Katrina be enough? Will her dad try to pick someone he thinks is better for her? Will she finally find that missing piece or pieces in her life?

So. Many. Metaphors.
There was a problem with a characters name being changed.
The one and only smex scene was impossible to follow and was interrupted.
The personalities of each character changed every page.
There was unresolved issues with the father.
The ending. What is there to say about a one page ending that still didn’t resolve anything and no fully fleshed out relationship. What a waste of time

Even though I read up to 60% of the book, I realized the plot is all over the place. Everything happening too fast and more often than not, I was getting the scene in one way as described and suddenly the characters where in other places or the scenario was different.

The personalities of the main characters was weak. For example, saying that the FMC was insecure and suddenly, out of nowhere, developed a personality, was off.

Eh…

The story was a little hard to follow sometimes. It felt like the writer just kind of wrote this without putting much thought into it. The one and only sex scene was stale, and a little bit of a let down. The whole book could have been so much better, but it felt too rushed. Probably the worst RH book I have read to date.

Hard to read

The story does not flow very good. It jumps around and the expressions for the characters to describe their reactions are far reaching. Couldn't even finish the book. Sorry, may need to put more thought in the writing.

I just couldn't read any more

Poorly written. Weak heroine. Plot holes. I tried to give her a chance (I read the first two of her series), but I don't have enough time to waste on literary skills and lack of editing that make my eyes feel like they're bleeding.

Good Start

I liked the story line, but it was hard to follow between character perspectives. There were perspective changes during the chapter and it made things confusing. I also felt that the story was rushed.

Could be a good outline for a bigger story

This story had a decent outline but the details weren't there and the speed of the storyline just felt too fast. Aaaand the 🔥 parts were slim.

characters very likeable, nice storyline but it feels like you are missing pieces, the plot should be more explored, the relationship is like the 2 first days but nothing more and dads story isnt talked about and it all keeps you hanging after you read the book to be honost

Good overall

Short read but good story line and a happy ending. Maybe could've explained who the stalker was and how he met her.

I had to dnf this one. I loved the concept of it but the writing as all over the place, I couldn't follow parts of the plot, and it wasn't good enough to overlook the flaws. I wanted to like it...

Sorry but this book made little to no sense and the MFC is a damn idiot 🙄🙄 the last 20 pages gave me whiplash. It feels like something is missing?? I didn’t even understand what was happening… still don’t fully tbh 😂

this book was not for me. the insta love was a bit too much - the boys were all obsessed from the first time they see her. it was very fast burn with no build up or chemistry (i know it was a novella but still...). there's also a subplot that felt like it came out of nowhere and was not resolved well. then the reveal was just so random at the end?
