She hated his guts from the first moment she laid eyes on him, but you know what they say about that line between love and hate? Leslie Jordan had her life all planned out ever since she was a teenager until an accident took it all away. She threw herself into her work. She would be the best nurse, the best friend anyone could ever have. Then a little girl was thrown into her life, reminding her of all she had lost. It didn't help that her father came along with her. He was broody, angry, and oh so hot. Damon James was used to being lonely. Sure he had his friends, but he hadn't loved anyone since the one who got away and met a tragic end. When a baby shows up, and he's named the father, his life is turned upside down. He didn't know how to care for a baby, let alone deal with the feisty nurse assigned to her care. Now, the mother is back, demanding custody. It would look better if his little girl had a two-parent home. If only he could get Leslie to say yes to his ridiculous proposal, they just might get what they both have been missing. Each other. This story contains material dealing with recovering from grief and loss. It may be disturbing to some. Please be advised. For optimum reading experience, the series is best read in order starting with book Shattered.
An avid lover of books. Kelly lives in Tennessee with her husband and their daughter. She loves to visit historical places like Williamsburg, VA, or The Great Smoky Mountains. She is also an avid sports fan. #GoBraves.
This time around it is the turn of Damon and Leslie to take centre stage. We have met them both at some point in the past two books of the series.
Damon is the best friend of Dylan and Jace, but over the past two books we have notice how his attitude has changed and now we get to find out why! He has been missing for the past six months since he was named the father of a very sick little girl who was left at the hospital by her mother.
Leslie is the nurse that has fallen in loves with this sick little girl, even if she cannot stand the rude and arrogant father. The problem is she is working herself into the ground on top of the fact that she is in the last place she wants to be. A childrens ward!
When the mother returns demanding full custody of her daughter can Damon not only get Leslie to see what he has felt for her all along, but can he get her to agree to the solution he has to keep his daughter?
This was by far the hardest book of the series so far to read. The twists and turns of the book had you wondering if these two would ever realise exactly what was happening between the. I had to admit that for a good part of the book I wanted to hate Damon for the way he had been treating everyone. What Leslie had to put up with showed us how strong she really was.
Another amazing story from Kelly. With each book I find myself desperate to finish and got onto the next book of the story, and even though the storylines are difficult at times, you just cannot put the down. Book 4 next
Emotional Rollercoaster: Learning to love again is the theme of both the h and the H. Both have dealt with the loss of a first love, including an infant, while dealing with the illness of another child. All three couples from the series converge, causing somewhat dysfunctional mayhem. Thank goodness for HEAs in romance. Ran into technique issues, but writing is a craft of never-ending learning.
Kelly Seibold has clearly put a lot of work and research into this Healing series of hers. I'm loving the stories behind the characters and the very careful manner in which Ms Seibold handles such sensitive topics like loss and grief. This book revolves mostly around Leslie and Damon, both very damaged individuals who must face their pasts to finally create a better present.
What a great continuing series of loss, love and desire. Another heartbreaking journey for wonderful characters! Shocking and riveting! Loved the twist and turns with Damon and Leslie! This novel brought tears to my eyes by the fourth chapter and like the others, captured my heart in the first paragraph! Kelly continues to grab my in and takes me for an emotional roller coaster ride with her stories! This one didn’t disappoint, striking all of my emotions. I again, couldn’t put this book down. Samantha and Dylan remain my favorite characters, but Leslie and her strength to overcome such devastating tragedy she was dealt, which was enough to bring the strongest person to their knees, is quickly taking the number one spot in my heart.
Complete Me is the third part to the Healing Me series and Kelly really amped it up with the emotion and beautiful heartache in this story.
Leslie has an absolutely heartbreaking backstory that only a few know about. The strength and determination she shows despite this tragic past is inspiring. Damon is about as broody and angry as they come, and he has good reasons, his current circumstances are heartbreaking too.
Kelly did a wonderful job on the plot of this story to make it relatable and believable. I loved the dual POV and the roles of former characters were pivotable in how well this story was told.
This is a great story. I loved the complex characters and I finally got to find out what was wrong with Damon. Wasn't at all what I'd dreamt up, lol. I also hadn't guessed any of lesley's history. They made for a great pair.
This book was full of ups and downs between Damon and Leslie. We have seen both in the other two books in this series, Leslie as a roommate and best friend and Damon as a best friend of other main characters. I felt like Damon was lashing out at Leslie for things she wasn't responsible for, and Leslie forgave him way too easily. Both characters had so much of their own baggage to unpack, I thought they were kind of a train wreck together. I'm taking a break from the series and may go back to finish at a later date. I need to be in the right headspace for this friend group and extended family.
Complete me by Kelly Seibold is another heart warming and fiery read and is the third book in her Healing series. Kelly's books are about real issues and entertaining solutions. There are so many feels in this story. You get so involved with the characters to the point where you laugh and cry with them, get angry on their behalf and feel all the love flowing through the pages. I highly recommend you read this series in order to get the full picture. If you love your romance with true heart and plenty of spice then check out Complete Me from the Healing series by Kelly Seibold.
I love the way this author real life issues. I could see this story playing out in an everyday occurrence. Damon and Leslie both had a lot of baggage that they brought into the relationship that threatened to keep them apart for life. Damon was overwhelmed with his situation and Leslie fought to even face him but neither really had any clue what the other was facing in life. I absolutely love how this author captures the raw emotions and true to life situations. I was absolutely fully invested in the characters and can't wait to see what happens in the next book in the series.
The Healing Series keeps getting better and better with each book I get more and more invested with the characters and their storyline. Also I do not know what it is about this series but I started to read Complete Me (Leslie and Damon's story) and the next thing I know the book is over. It's really just that we'll written that once I start it I can't put it down, I don't want to. If you aren't reading this series then you should be! This Author absolutely knows what she is doing.
