Angie Daniels grew up on the South side of Chicago, Illinois. At a very early age, she spent nights creating soap operas with her younger sister until the two drifted off to sleep. Never did she realize that her longtime dream to become a published author would someday become a reality.
In 1999 Angie decided it was finally time to return to her love of writing. She took a year off to write her first book Intimate Intentions, which started off as a simple romance novel and later escalated into 542 pages of romantic suspense. After two submissions, Angie was offered a four-book contract with Genesis Press and her first book was released in 2001. In 2003, she also signed with BET Arabesque, and Kensington's Dafina imprint in 2004. In 2006, she added Parker Publishing, Aphrodisia and Harlequin Kimani Romance to her list. In 2010 she will release her twentieth novel. Angie currently resides in Missouri.
Angie is one of my favorite authors. I have read every book she has ever written. This is the the first series I felt was drawn out. I also feel as if this book was spent going over her insecurities 70% of the book at least. I was so looking forward to reading the ending for it not to be the ending. Now the MOB is involved. I just don't know. I feel like I wasted my time on this series, reading about an insecure women hung up on a man that didn't want her. Abused her and disrespected her in her face. Now she's blaming herself, looking for ways to continue to not be happy. At the end she finds her voice. Then she finds out Creed seen her husband before he died and now she's mad at him when the MOB already pretty much took ownership of the murder.
I just feel like this book took routes it didn't have to, looking for ways to prolong the series. If I'm not mistaken this was supposed to be the last book, but it's not. I dispise redundancy in fiction literature.
Peyton and the female members of her family are in need of therapy. I know that we are products of our environment, but I also know that at some point you want to rebel and live differently. Creed nor the other males in Peyton's life are responsible for her insecurity. At some point these women need to take control of their own lives. Although I did not like how the women were being disrespected, I did very much enjoy the element of mystery that has been introduced into the story. I am chomping at the bits to see how Peyton gets out of this. Her relationship with Creed is making her more daring. I also think that in spite of all the negativity, Creed has been good for Peyton. After dealing with her disrespectful husband and his mistress, she deserves some happiness. I am hoping that I do not have to wait another two years for book six.
It’s been a few years since this saga came back to life. One would think that Peyton & Creed’s story would finally come to some end... but again Ms. Daniels is stretching this out to another book called UNWOUND.
This book (5) was soft compared to the previous books as Peyton tries to find herself after Ray’s death. Creed is never far from her and she struggles not to feel anything though her heart says otherwise. When you think that possibly could be a HEA, a typical twist that you know isn’t going to end well. You already knew that Ray’s shady business wasn’t resolved in the pages, would help this stretch to another book.
Hopefully book 6 will finally settle this between Creed & Peyton. Now that we know the mafia is involved, I’m sure this book will have Peyton dating Marco Vincenzo and Creed trying to figure out his emotions and why Peyton has betrayed him, unknowing that Peyton is trying to save his life.
Lord knows I love Angie Daniels and have just about all of her books, but this one was so hard to finish. Peyton was so irritating at times. She was saying one thing and doing another. There are some on answered questions that I guess we will learn in the next edition.
I just hope it returns to being a page turner like the earlier editions
The title absolutely correct !! I was so in to each page trying to figure out the next thing happening I'm so afraid for Peyton !! She don't how to let go, how to not use her heart and she is absolutely so trust worthy of everyone Cannot wait to see how this poor girl gonna end up !!
Angie Daniels this book is great!! I had been waiting for the next book in this series and you did not disappoint! I cannot wait for the next installment to this series!,
Wow Creed is the man. Peyton is finding about all of Ray’s B.S..I hope that everything works out for these two. I loved Aunt Ruth and the girls. Can’t wait for the next installment of this series.
