2.5 stars. Eh! This was fine, but not really what I expected. From the blurb and the length, I thought that this would be a short, smutty read, which was kinda what I was in the mood for. And it was both those things, but the plot involved was just... fine? Not really to my taste, I guess. Liliana is a maid working at the behest of a cruel mistress, who awakens and plays with her desires. When they're discovered in bed together, her mistress lies and pretends that Liliana attacked her. Liliana expects to be killed, but at the last minute, she's rescued by an enigmatic duchess and her companion, Elena. Once again, Liliane must serve a rich noblewoman, but this time, her feelings are reciprocated, and a bond begins to form. From top to bottom, there was nothing I disliked about this, but there was also nothing about the storytelling that really called to me or compelled me. There were so many typos it felt like a first draft. There were a bunch of really long time skips (four years, three years) and I felt like I never got to see the relationship between Liliana and Elena actually develop. The moments where they spend time together are too few, and not enough of them are shown on page. There were a couple moments when they'd ask each other questions, and it would leave me scratching my head, like. It's been four years and THIS is the first time you're learning these things about each other? The relationship ultimately felt so shallow, I think I would have preferred if this was pure smut. And it WAS hot, if a little formulaic at times. The conflict with Violante didn't do much for me, but I'm glad about where it ended up.

And hey, historical f/f romance is literally my favourite thing, so I'm not mad that I read this, even if it wasn't a total win. The 16th century Spanish setting was a pleasant departure from the regular Regency romance, and there were a couple interesting tidbits here and there. I'll try this author again in the future.

Man- there are times I wanted to throw this book at the wall. Times where I sighed in exasperation. Times where my cheeks flushed and my heart sped up a wee bit. Times where you could feel the love trying to seep outta the pages. I loved this story and only hope that the author gives another MC her HEA that I will absolutely 100% read!

Only critique I have is the use of character names. I think the author is finding her groove and just needs a wee bit of finesse when it comes to saying the characters names repetitively-- a few more she/he's would help minus when they are in the throes of passion, then scream the names from the balcony!

Beautiful

Love finds it’s way through times of the early years. When acceptance of that kind of behavior can only lead to death. Two women end up taking a chance to break free and find their HEA.

This book was good. The story was good. My complaint is that it should have been edited, or maybe edited better. There were quite a few typos- at least in the ebook version. I will still recommend it because it because I enjoy the authors story telling and writing style.

This is very good, I really didn't expect the confrontation over one of the girls to end in a hot threesome. I expected it to be much harsher, but it doesn't seem to be the kind of story that makes the reader suffer.
