The uptight city girl and the small town surfer boy. One recovering from a divorce, the other nursing a grief-stricken heart. And one crumbling beach house to fix up. It’s a project that brings them together. They’re complete opposites, but what happens when they start to fall for each other?
It all started with four words. I want a divorce.
I’m an organized girl. Everything in my life is structured down to the most minute detail, including my calories. But when my husband asks me for a divorce on our anniversary, my whole life falls apart.
In my devastation, I retreat into bed, eating tubs of ice-cream and watching sappy British rom-coms. Pretty pathetic, I know. That was until I inherit a ramshackle beach house in some small coastal town completely out of the blue. Usually, I would never give the place a second thought, but maybe renovating this house on the other side of the country might be the escape I need. Time spent on my own. On a beach. Not a man in sight.
Well, I say no man. But that was until I met my neighbor. Declan “Dec” Page. A loner with a cute dog and a tragic past. Oh, and he can surf. And he never wears a shirt.
And he’s the only one in this small town that can help me restore this beach house.
He’s the complete opposite of me in every way. He isn’t after money or the hustle life. He just lives carefree. Going with the flow and all that. Under any normal circumstances we would never meet, let alone have the hots for each other.
Rebecca has had the storytelling bug since... forever!
What Rebecca likes most is writing steamy hot filthy romances with sweet happy endings sprinkled with some delicious bad boys.
Born and raised in an Aussie coastal town, she loves travelling around the world - meeting new people and discovering their stories. Aside from adventuring she also enjoys a good rainy day in with a good book or at a hot beach catching the sun. She’s a world-class napping professional. You’ll most likely find her asleep snuggled up on a sofa somewhere cozy.
𝐌𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭...Holy heck that opening prologue and the first chapter will suck you in and leave you feeling all sorts of emotions.
This is one beautiful and heart wrenching story. Rebecca has a way of reeling us in building the happy bubble and it bursts it before completing your heart.
HOLYMOLY, Ellie and Dec's relationship, spark and connection will leave you lusting and in swoonworthy territory. Dec and Ellie are instantly drawn together and sparks friggin fly!
“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐃𝐮𝐤𝐞?”
The emotional pull that laces these pages are breathtaking and will bring a tear to your. Without a shadow of a doubt this book will connect with you and leave you believing in love at first sight!

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book is about finding love when you least expect it or even want it. Ellie has her whole world turned upside down. In the fallout she takes an opportunity to start over someplace new and healing. She never imagined to find a man like Declan. These two can create some sparks but somehow have this unexpected connection. Dec is the opposite of Ellie in many ways. In their case, it is why they end up fitting so well together. Their story was a sweet but steamy romance.

Sometimes in the worst of circumstances, life will turn around and show you another path to take you where you were meant to be. On her wedding anniversary, Ellie’s life came crashing down when her husband asked for a divorce. Then suddenly, she inherits an old beach house in a small coastal town that gives her a new focus and direction.
Figuring she will take on the project to fix up the beach house, she meets her neighbor, Declan “Dec” Page, who has a dog and a tragic past of his own. Somehow these opposites spark something in each other. Is there a possibility for a future together?
I really enjoyed this story between Ellie and Dec. It's sweet with a little bit of spice that had me turning page after page. Ellie inherits a beach home and is in for a few surprises one being the rundown house, but also her very handsome, elusive neighbor. They have some push and pull between them along with great chemistry. Each one has pasts they must overcome to be able to move forward and form their relationship. Ellie is a strong character and I really appreciated her growth in this story!
This is an opposites attract romance between Ellie, a new divorcee who has left her structured city life to live in an inherited beach house, and Declan/Dec, her laid back neighbor who is helping with the renovations at her new home. While she heals, Ellie realizes she is attracted to Declan who also has had a tragic past. This is a good romance featuring diametrically opposite characters and a storyline with strong emotions and passion.

This is the 3rd book I've read written by Rebecca Castle; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
After her husband asked for a divorce on their anniversary, Ellie inherited a beach house across the country that needed renovated and decided it’s just what she needed. Dec was the man next door; he’s the only one that can help her. I loved their characters.

This story flows well and has likeable and developed characters. The connection and chemistry between them is good and believable. It is a sweet if a little predictable story, but a good read.
